Story
Hey everyone! I'm Lakelyn, the cutest little pup you ever did see! With one stunning blue eye and a heart full of love, I'm just a tiny bundle of joy ready to find my forever home. You see, I may be small, but I've got big dreams— I belong in a cozy place with a family to call my own. I need a FOSTER or an ADOPTER by 4/26, can you help me? Life here in the Georgia shelter is okay, but it's not where I belong. I dream of feeling the grass under my paws and playing with kids who'll give me all the love and attention I crave. That's why I'm wagging my tail extra hard at the thought of heading to "Homeward Bound" in Wisconsin! So, if you're looking for a sweet baby to brighten up your days and fill your home with laughter, the let the people at the rescue know you can foster me- so I can make the journey to Wisconsin! Hurry, before it’s too late! Or even better- will you be my FOREVER family? FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.

Story
Greetings, my name is Donna; that name means ‘lady' which is exactly what I am; a little lady. I was running around Dodge County with my brother when we were picked up by a very nice person who brought us to a vet. Since they could not find our family, we came to WCHS to find new homes. I am a very sweet gal who is playful, outgoing and tolerant. I have been having a blast participating in the play groups at the shelter; I do enjoy staying active. I have not had a ton of practice walking politely on a leash, I have a tendency to pull when I see or smell something of interest. I hope we can go on nice long walks so I can get better at well mannered leash-walking. Speaking of manners, or lack thereof, I have been known to jump up on people when I am saying ‘hi'. I am very gentle about it, but do understand that not everyone appreciates being hugged by a pooch. If you are the type who enjoys a furry hug, perhaps I can learn to only jump up when given a cue. I am hoping for a family who is familiar with my breed and understands I am an energetic girl who would do well with a job or two; I love to run around in the courtyard. Learning new skills is also a great way to build confidence and to be honest I could benefit in gaining a bit more self-assuredness so I am more comfortable in new situations. I think I have led a somewhat sheltered life, so it would be lovely if I could safely explore the world with you and experience new places and things. I know that in order to be your BFF and constant companion that I will need to be comfortable riding in a car. I must confess that I can be a bit uneasy in a car and may even get an upset tummy so I hope we can practice taking short trips to fun places. That way I will realize that riding in a car can be enjoyable. Sometimes it also helps if a pooch rides in a crate that is covered so I do not see all the fast-moving things outside the windows. I am a friendly and affectionate lass who thoroughly enjoys snuggles and cuddles. At 50 pounds I may be a smidge too big for your lap but it would be marvelous to have a place at your side. I hope you stop by to meet me in person and discover how enchanting I am.#1

Story
In the famous words of Lady Gaga, she was born this way! Roo was born with deformities in her front legs. But that has never stopped her from being the friendly, playful, girl that she is. Roo is about 2 years old, 23lbs, spayed & up to date on her vaccines. We are actively working with getting Roo acquainted with prosthetics for her front legs to reduce the wear on her front joints. She will need an adopter that is extra dedicated to her special needs & continue working with her on her prosthetics.DATCP# 483538

Story
Leroy is a handsome 2 month old mixed breed male puppy. His mom was a heeler mix, and his dad is unknown. He has a beautiful soft and thick coat. Leroy is a fun pup who loves people, other dogs, and loves to play. Leroy has been working hard on potty training, but being that he is just a young puppy, his new family should be prepared to do additional potty training while he learns the routine at his new home in WI. He is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and he comes with his medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies him to be in good condition. He will be arriving in Muskego, WI on Friday May 3rd, and will be available to meet, and take home if he is a good fit, by the first family to have placed an exclusive hold deposit as set out below. His adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. He is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $250, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption. Should you find that he is not a good fit for your family upon meeting, the deposit is refundable. If you’re not already familiar with our group, please feel free to visit our Group Page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity If you are serious about this pup, please contact us at DogTrailRides@gmail.com. We take payments through Zelle, Venmo, or CashApp, or we can take card numbers over the phone and process them through Square. All of these methods provide a receipt.
