Story
· Intake Reason: surrendered because of owner's healthKnown with:· Cats: lived with 8 yr old female· Dogs: has previously met dogs on neutral territory· Kids: around kids 5 yrs and up, did greatHi there, my name is Dirk. My name has a Dutch origin and means ‘the people's ruler' but I only want to rule your heart. I lived with a wonderful person for most of my life and I was super happy. Unfortunately, my human got sick and could no longer take care of me so I came back to WCHS. Yes, I was adopted as a youngster way back in 2019. In my previous home I was confined to a room when I was alone so I did not have to manage the whole house by myself. When I was a pup, I was comfortable in a crate but have not needed to use one for over 4 years. At night I had the luxury of sleeping in my person's bed and that was grand because we could snuggle all night long. I am an affectionate lad, but at 88 pounds I may be a touch too big for your lap. I know proper potty behavior and learned to whine and run to the door to indicate I needed to use the outside facilities. When I come to my new home it would be wise to give me plenty of opportunities to go outside until we learn each other's signals and routines. I had a fenced yard to play in and that was lovely because I am an active guy who likes to play. I am friendly and intelligent and already know the cues for ‘sit', ‘down' and ‘come'. I must confess that I tend to pull a bit on a leash because I get excited and joyful about exploring all the wonders of nature. I am quite strong so I suppose I should practice walking more politely on a leash. I enjoy car rides and am happy to be your sidekick on any adventure. I love to be with my people and get a smidge anxious when I am separated from them. Here's a fun fact about me - I lived with a macaw for a while and did OK. I am hoping for an active family who is looking for a big hunk of love to share their life. Stop by to meet me in person and I think you will be smitten with my charm.#2

Once your application is approved, the WI manager will call you to discuss adoption, answer questions and set up a private meet and greet if you are interested. This process can take up to 7 days. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: www.hoovershausealldogrescue.com EVERY DOG IS UP TO DATE ON VACCINES FOR THEIR AGE.                                           RABIES VACCINE IF OLD ENOUGH.  SPAYED OR NEUTERED (regardless of age) NO EXCEPTIONS HEARTWORM and FLEA/TICK PREVENTATIVE MICROCHIPPED CERTIFIED VETERINARIAN INSPECTION CERTIFICATE ***WE ARE NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC*** ADOPTIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY! Rozzlo is a 1 year old, Red Heeler and Shepherd mix  Rozzlo and his litter mates were surrendered to the shelter at just 1 month old. He spent 2.5 months in the shelter, until his foster mom came in one day to pick out a new foster pup before Christmas! He has been with his foster mom for quite some time now because he requires an extra special someone to spend his life with.  He has a typical goofy puppy personality. He’s about 55 pounds and is great for someone looking for a dog that’s about the average size of a heeler. He loves his toys and tug of war is his favorite game. He enjoys a good game of chuck, too. Due to his breed mixture, he is extremely smart and learns most things quickly. He is kennel trained, potty trained, basic obedience trained, he rides well in the car (in his kennel), he walks well on leash, and loves to cuddles. He is not allowed on all of the furniture, so he does have an understanding of house rules. He tolerates baths, but is amazing at getting his nails done, teeth brushing, and fur brushing! He is very funny, loves to rough house with his people, and loves to talk.  He will require some form of daily exercise and training to keep him balanced and fulfilled. However, he does not require an unmanageable amount.  Rozzlo is looking for a very special person or family. This person must understand dog behavior and be willing to take on the responsibility of a dog who will need special care & training to thrive. Due to being dropped at the shelter so young and his genetic make-up, Rozzlo has some sass. He needs to be the only pet and the only child, for the rest of his life. He loves his adult humans, but needs to have someone that won’t force him to try to “make friends” with everyone. He’s pretty shy and doesn’t really trust strangers. As long as his person advocates for him and his space, he does fine out and about.  As always, we never guarantee the breed OR the size they'll be as an adult. MY ADOPTION FEE is $125.00 and I am only available in the greater Dallas/Fort Worth area We thank you for ADOPTING A HOOVERS HAUSE RESCUE DOG..... every dog adopted allows us to open our homes to save another! Story
In the famous words of Lady Gaga, she was born this way! Roo was born with deformities in her front legs. But that has never stopped her from being the friendly, playful, girl that she is. Roo is about 2 years old, 23lbs, spayed & up to date on her vaccines. We are actively working with getting Roo acquainted with prosthetics for her front legs to reduce the wear on her front joints. She will need an adopter that is extra dedicated to her special needs & continue working with her on her prosthetics.DATCP# 483538

Story
About Me: Name: Vincent and Vegas Breed (or best guess): Cattle Dog Mix  Approximate Age: 11 weeks Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 6 lb Adoption Fee: $600 Requirements: Loving family Why In Rescue: surrender Profile:  Vincent, Vegas, Van Dyke, and Virgil are all Virginia's puppies.  They are a little shy right now but will be social little busy bees soon.  We are guessing daddy was a heeler or heeler mix, and although we were told Momma was a poodle, she is a mix as well - maybe poodle, bernese mountain dog (or Cavalier or Cocker or ?).  So they are some Heinz 57 mixed breeds.  They will likely need an active home and we are guessing Vincent, Vegas, and Van Dyke will get to be medium sized dogs, Virgil will likely be smaller as she is the smallest of the group.  If interested please fill out the pre-adoption application and we can have you come meet the pups. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $450 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS May 21, 2024, 6:22 pm
