He’s had a loving home for the past year but unfortunately finds himself in need of a new beginning. Max has put in the work — he’s spent weeks training with certified trainers and it shows. He walks beautifully on a leash and truly enjoys getting out for daily walks. One of his absolute favorite things? Water! Max loves to swim and would thrive with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. He can be a little timid at first, especially around men and young children, but with patience and consistency, he warms up and becomes incredibly loyal and affectionate. This handsome boy is Reno, an Australian Kelpie mix that was brought in as a stray to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/12. He weighs 36 pounds and is about 2 years old. Reno appears to have been nicely cared for. He knows the sit and paw commands (in fact he will give you both left and right paws). He is very sociable, friendly, affectionate, wants to climb into your lap and will give kisses. He is a charming, gentle, sweet, well-behaved boy who would doubtless make someone a wonderful companion. He does walk well on a leash. He played with several toys and balls in our meet and greet room. Reno is also quite the curious boy. In the yard, he had his nose to the ground and covered pretty much the entire area. He loves treats and takes them quite politely. He sincerely hopes that his stay at the shelter will be a short one and that a new person or family with step forward and adopt or foster and stay committed to him. Reno is a delightfully sweet, loveable and charming boy. He deserves to live as an inside dog spending time with his loving family.

He has been apart of our family since January 2019… My landlord is having a problem with him digging in the yard and has instructed us to rehome him… he loves the outdoors, I’d like him to have atleast a backyard. Codi is a sweet 4-year-old (born in March) with a unique mix of Australian Shepherd and Pit Bull. He’s a handsome tan-and-white boy with striking blue eyes and weighs about 65 pounds. Codi has been professionally trained. He gets along wonderfully with our smaller dogs and enjoys spending time with both canine and human companions. Codi loves going on walks, playing outside, and napping wherever he finds a cozy spot. He’s especially affectionate and enjoys snuggling up with his people. Codi is up to date on most of his vaccinations, and the remaining two will be taken care of prior to rehoming. He does take allergy medication, and he’ll come with a multi-month supply to help keep him comfortable. We are looking for a loving, kind, and stable home for our dog. This is not an easy decision for us, and it comes from a place of wanting the very best for Codi. He deserves a home where he will receive plenty of attention, care, and affection.
