Story
Sira's start in life is unknown but her journey here was rough.  Caught by animal control as a stray and young, she stayed pancaked at the back of her kennel and was not receptive to touch.  Shelter life was literally killing her.  She was failing and doomed to death.  The rescue coordinator reached out and asked us a favor, knowing she is our type of dog.  At the time we had space and said yes.  Sira was a unique case because she did not grow with time.  She stayed stagnant so we pushed her.  After several weeks of decompression, environmental exposure to the facility and dogs she continued to recoil at human touch or interaction.  Very likely feral it meant we needed to push or let her stay forever stagnant.  Despite the recoil you could see her soften and start to enjoy, if not invite, her regular massage sessions.  Eventually she opened up and learned to be a dog.  She is one of the more affectionate dogs at the faciility.  She is easy going, a true home body and good to just chill where she knows it's safe.  She seeks interaction from those she knows and trusts.  She is happy and content as long as her out of the normal activity and exposure is limited.  She's looking for a very patient, quiet home with adults who will assist her in gaining confidence. She loves to be pet and has a silly playful side when she feels comfortable with her people and her surroundings. Her ideal home would be one with minimal expecations she do "dog worldly" things.  She'd love to stay home, have just her yard, chill in the comfort of what she knows with the people she loves.  Is that you? Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  NO offleash activities in unfenced areas for life. The pups are doing amazing, still a little malnourished but quickly catching up on healthy weight, yay! As of 7/18 they are done with their quarantine and had their second set of vaccines and ready to meet forever families looking to adopt a medium size breed super mutt! They look like shepherds but being a baja puppy it means they are super mutts will likely different breeds in them. Currently they are 6-8 pounds which means they are expected to grow into medium breeds 40-50 pounds when full grown.  They are adorable, loving, outgoing little sweethearts who are your typical playful, silly puppies looking for families who are ready to take on puppy training and all that comes with a new 4 legged family at home. The pups are scheduled to be sterilized mid-August when they are 4 months of age in the north park area and although ready for adoption now, families will need to be available to bring their newly adopted pup to their scheduled sterilization appointment on Monday 8/14/23 with a 8:30am to 9am drop off. More information would be provided for their prospective approved adopters.  the pups are also available to foster in case families would like to request a 'foster to adopt' trial with  them (although, priority is given to families Who are ready to adopt) you can submit an adoption application online @ARWOB.org Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. Story
This is Pepper and she is a 3 year old Australian Shepperd. She has been a great and loyal dog to my wife and I for the past 3 years and she does great indoors and outdoors. Being a guard dog is in her blood and she protects her own. Pepper gets along with most dogs and plays with them in a nonaggressive manner. She originally was raised in a house with a huge backyard but when moved to a home with a smaller backyard space we noticed it was hard for her to adapt. Pepper has been diagnosed with anxiety which makes her have stressful episodes. Sadly, there has been times, due to her condition, that when she gets startled she reacts in an unpredictable way and it's concerning for us and our toddler. She is on medication but at this point our main concern is our toddler since he loves to chase after Pepper and invade her space. We would love for Pepper to be adopted by a family who will love and be patient with her.

Story
Maki is 1 year old female Mini Australian Sheppard Mix. She is one active dog when she wants to be but other times she can sleep all day if she wanted too. She loves loves loves to eat, she'll try to be slick and steal some of your food. Maki is a good listener more like selective hearing. She loves her cuddles, sweet , and over all the best dog you can ask for. She will become your best friend like she became mines. Maki needs a person who knows their stuff about dogs and needs some room to run around, all I ask if for her to go into a good and loving home.

Story
Nitro is a 7 year old male mixed breed. He is a highly trained very loyal dog. He recently showed aggression towards our elderly Maltipoo. We rescued him from an abusive situation about 3 years ago. He knows almost all commands. Heel, sit, wait, place, over, under, and more. He loves to play fetch (for hours). It takes him a bit to get to know people and trust them, but this can be done by playing ball with him. He would be a great 1 person dog. Someone who has time to play, work, and love him. He is a great fly chaser too! This is a very difficult decision for our family. We love him, we just cannot keep him any longer due to his actions with our other dog.
