Message for details:Millie is available for adoption in a foster home. To adopt her, please email us at adoptoceanside@sdhumane.org and provide a good callback number. How this pet arrived: Millie was brought in by a community member on September 21, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Introducing Millie! While she may be a little shy at first, she'll soon warm up and claim her rightful throne by your side. You'll know her by her unique bow-legged strut and a noticeable limp, a signature move that's sure to make heads turn on walks. Our medical team gave her a once-over and noted her "altered gait"-which, in fancy terms, means her stroll has a bit of extra flair, thanks to some conformational quirks. Don't worry, though-Millie doesn't let a little pelvic tilt or her limp slow her down. She's all about that easygoing lifestyle, preferring long naps to long runs, and a cozy spot in the sun is all she needs to reign supreme. Millie is thriving in her foster home, where she's getting along wonderfully with both dogs and cats! She loves to play and socialize, making her a perfect fit for a multi-pet household. If you're ready to roll out the royal treatment, grab a leash, a collar, and adopt Millie today! Primary Color: Tri Color Secondary Color: White Weight: 64.2 Age: 4yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Meet Sonny! He is such a handsome boy. Sonny is a two-year, eight-month-old Aussie Shepherd. He is a handsome boy who loves some belly rubs and gives you a paw when he hasn’t been done getting a pet (see picture)! Unfortunately, he’s not great around children or smaller dogs. He has exhibited dominance and aggression, making him a less-than-perfect candidate for our household with an eight-year-old daughter and other kids around. His resource-guarding behavior is the reason he is listed as having special needs. He needs a home where he can be the only dog in an adult household. Sonny needs to be adopted by an experienced dog owner who would be able to identify any signs of potential aggression and take him to training to get rid of that aggression. CHARACTERISTICS Friendly, Affectionate, Playful, Smart, Independent, Loves kisses With a heavy heart, we’ve decided it would be best if he were to find an environment that gives him a better chance at success and happiness with an experienced dog owner. To meet Sonny, email his foster dad, Joseph, at joseph.e.moser@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE: This is a Courtesy Listing, and ARRF is not familiar with this dog. Please see the contact information at the end of his bio. Thank you.

Story
Duma is a very fun dog that loves to play and will be your best friend. She has a lot of energy! (Although I would say a normal amount of energy for an 8 month old Australian Shepherd). She gets along very well with other dogs and loves to explore, go for long walks, and give snuggles. She is micro-chipped, up-to-date on shots, and her spay is scheduled for October 20th. She should go to a home without young children as she is possessive of her food/treats. This resource-guarding issue is the reason we are needing to re-home her. Duma has not ever bitten anyone to the point of injury, but can be snippy if she thinks someone other than her main caretaker is trying to take her food away. As a result of this snippiness, we haven't been able to allow her free-roam access inside the house and that is just not the quality of life she deserves. We are confident that in the right home (without small children) she will thrive and bring loads of joy to your home.
