Story
Meet Sonny! He is such a handsome boy. Sonny is a two-year, eight-month-old Aussie Shepherd. He is a handsome boy who loves some belly rubs and gives you a paw when he hasn’t been done getting a pet (see picture)! Unfortunately, he’s not great around children or smaller dogs. He has exhibited dominance and aggression, making him a less-than-perfect candidate for our household with an eight-year-old daughter and other kids around. His resource-guarding behavior is the reason he is listed as having special needs. He needs a home where he can be the only dog in an adult household. Sonny needs to be adopted by an experienced dog owner who would be able to identify any signs of potential aggression and take him to training to get rid of that aggression. CHARACTERISTICS Friendly, Affectionate, Playful, Smart, Independent, Loves kisses With a heavy heart, we’ve decided it would be best if he were to find an environment that gives him a better chance at success and happiness with an experienced dog owner. To meet Sonny, email his foster dad, Joseph, at joseph.e.moser@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE: This is a Courtesy Listing, and ARRF is not familiar with this dog. Please see the contact information at the end of his bio. Thank you.

Story
Sira's start in life is unknown but her journey here was rough.  Caught by animal control as a stray and young, she stayed pancaked at the back of her kennel and was not receptive to touch.  Shelter life was literally killing her.  She was failing and doomed to death.  The rescue coordinator reached out and asked us a favor, knowing she is our type of dog.  At the time we had space and said yes.  Sira was a unique case because she did not grow with time.  She stayed stagnant so we pushed her.  After several weeks of decompression, environmental exposure to the facility and dogs she continued to recoil at human touch or interaction.  Very likely feral it meant we needed to push or let her stay forever stagnant.  Despite the recoil you could see her soften and start to enjoy, if not invite, her regular massage sessions.  Eventually she opened up and learned to be a dog.  She is one of the more affectionate dogs at the faciility.  She is easy going, a true home body and good to just chill where she knows it's safe.  She seeks interaction from those she knows and trusts.  She is happy and content as long as her out of the normal activity and exposure is limited.  She's looking for a very patient, quiet home with adults who will assist her in gaining confidence. She loves to be pet and has a silly playful side when she feels comfortable with her people and her surroundings. Her ideal home would be one with minimal expecations she do "dog worldly" things.  She'd love to stay home, have just her yard, chill in the comfort of what she knows with the people she loves.  Is that you? Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  NO offleash activities in unfenced areas for life. Story
Dahlia is a sweet female Aussie. She came to us as a re-home dog when her family discovered she was pregnant. She had wonderful puppies and we were able to get them adopted and then we sent her to our trainer for some r and r and training after she was spayed. She did wonderfully and now she is ready to return to be a part of a adult family or couple. Her little bobbies have of course shrunk back up. She gets along well with other dogs . She is crate trained and house broken. She needs to be with someone who works from home or is retired. She has been vetted ,spayed and microchipped. If you would like this sweet girl in your home please contact Vicky @760-672-2258. We are a rescue so an adoption fee will apply. Please go to our website http://www.k9connectionpetadoption.org to fill out the application. Please use a laptop or a computer. No children under the age of 16.

He’s the best dog I just don’t have the time or lifestyle he needs in an owner. He really should be with someone who walks a lot or has a backyard or land. He’d be amazing on a farm and would probably be a great herding dog:) he’s extremely lovable and gives great cuddles.
