Story
**I have an adoption pending but hope you will consider one of our other dogs in need.** When Sadie lost her home, her first weeks at the shelter were devastating to her. She was very sad and defeated, and her eyes told you she had lost all hope. We are determined to help Sadie move forward and enjoy the best times of her life. Sadie is a pretty dog who loves to be out and about with her people. Her lack of a tail, size, coat, and intelligence leads us to believe she is an Aussie possibly mixed with something very sweet. When you watch her expressive eyes and face you can see she is a smart girl. At 38 lbs, 9-year-old Sadie is underweight under all her fluffy coat and should be about 45 lbs. She will soon be having a spa day to trim the extra fur from her paws. With good nutrition, we know her coat will shine and she will be gorgeous! Be sure to watch her video, which was taken before her spa day! Sadie has nice manners, and she is an easygoing dog. She is a dream in the car and settled right down in the back seat on the ride from the shelter to our vet's clinic. She also walks fine on a leash and does not pull, unless she sees a cat! No cats for this girl, she is too interested! She has been fine and polite with every dog she has met and seems not to need to be with them. She is eating well and takes treats very gently. Sadie dislikes being crated and a home where she would not be crated is a must for her. In fact, she rubbed her nose and injured it trying to get out of the kennel. Otherwise, Sadie requires no medicine, tested heartworm negative, is spayed, vaccinated, and ready for her home. Our photographer mentioned how sweet she is and how much Sadie loved spending time outside with her during the photo shoot. Watch for more pics post-spa day, but don't hesitate to ask about Sadie if you would love an easy, intelligent dog who has a joy of life and wants to be by your side. Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to become an important, forever part of their life journey by continuing the rehabilitation we have begun. If you would like to be part of Sadie's rescue story, and you have already been approved for adoption through SGRR, please contact Candy to be considered to adopt Sadie. If not yet approved for adoption, please visit our website to lean more and to submit an online application. Click here to visit our website. Please contact us with any questions regarding your application status. PLEASE APPLY by submitting an application via this online link: Click for Adoption Application About Our Rescue Before being approved to adopt, all potential adopters need to complete our online application and participate in our pre-adoption review process. The process includes the completion of an online application, a reference from the applicants' vet, a phone interview, and a visit to the applicants' home. The application process helps us determine what type of Golden would be best suited for the applicants' life style. In some cases, the specific dog you are interested in may have found a home before this process is complete or further assessment may find that this dog is not the right match for your family. We are regularly getting new Goldens in need of a home, so we encourage you to apply and get approved so that when the right dog comes along you will be ready. The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home. SGRR ADOPTION FEES - Effective May 1, 2020 (subject to change) $750 Puppy - up to 6 months $650 Young 6 months - 6 years $550 Senior 7 - 9 years $450 Senior 10 years and older $550 Young Special Needs $400 Senior 7+ Special Needs $1000 Young Bonded Pair $900 Senior 7+ Bonded Pair A contract is signed the day of adoption. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided. Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed. Please be a ray of light for this Sunshine dog and make a tax deductible donation toward medical and other expenses. Every cent of your generosity goes directly toward the care of a Sunshine dog. Story
Blue is a 3-year-old Australian Shepherd who was surrendered as his owner developed severe allergies. Blue is a friendly guy who likes everyone he meets and enjoys playing with other dogs. Blue lost his hearing when he was younger, but understands and responds to sign language! We have a video of the signs he knows for anyone who adopts him. The benefit to his condition is that he does not startle from loud noises. Blue is crate trained and housetrained and loves going for walks. He can be a strong puller on walks when he sees another dog as he wants to say hello. Blue is up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Story
Meet Bonnie is the best! Cutie cuddlebug! VIDEO of this tiny baby girl! Hey everyone! This week it's all about more cutie lovers and these puppies are pretty much the full package - all with those sad seal pup eyes and both just all around great puppies at about 8-10 wks of age and now ready for their forever homes! Please make sure to read ALL info below BEFORE applying. NO applications accepted by anyone under the age of 25 please (parent or guardian must apply) and you MUST have dog experience. MORE PHOTOS VIDEO COMING! READY THIS SATURDAY!! To apply go to https://rnrpets.org/form-dog-application/ - and make sure to give us as much info as possible. DO NOT CALL RESCUE but if you have questions u can TEXT NO CALLS to 9146885499 - please do an application BEFORE texting Meet Birch and Birdie and sis Bonnie - tiny cuties from down South given to Rock n' Rescue after their owners brought them to a kill shelter because "sometimes they feed them and sometimes they don't" - truly no words... Thank goodness they entered our rescue program and were super spoiled from the get go! They are NOT food aggressive which could've been created from their bad owners - in fact they are just the sweetest and most loving trio. They were given the best of the best care and are on the road to becoming true family pets and both will prob be medium maybe large dogs but not super huge based on their momma who we saw a photo of!! Now they are ready and simply balls of love and cuddles! SOOOO SWEET and will be perfect for those looking for all around great family dog as they tiny and still impressionable and with great future training will be perfect! They are waiting to be your bff! They CANNOT to go outside fully on public dirt as they have not done all their necessary vaccines vs other older puppies and so are still susceptible to parvo and distemper. Both seem to be fine with children, dogs and cats too. They can't be a better fit for most families! These puppies are truly special and are coming a long way for love. They will likely grow to be med dogs about 35-60lbs. WE DO NOT DNA TEST for breeds so you adopt and love what you get no matter what tests tell you or do not apply... But we are pretty confident they are medium breed mixes - prob Austrailian Shepherd with maybe hound or doberman or mixed in based on momma's and their looks - they had their tails cropped for no known reason. They have had vaccines so adopters will have to complete final rounds and have been microchipped - adopters will need to pay neuter spay deposit and spay neuter in future as they are too small for that to be done now. Minimum donation required. Out of state adopters MUST pick up in South Salem NY - no exceptions.

These pups are in Stamford, Connecticut too!

He needs a forever home and a companion that will give him lots of exercise. I have a lot of health issues and am moving to a smaller place.
