Story
Looking Glass Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) virtual rescue, using a network of dedicated fosters throughout the Louisiana and the Northeast to care for our animals until adoption.  You may be required to travel if approved for adoption.   Meet Carbon!  Carbon is a very handsome, very playful young boy, just 18 months old, a large sized pup but a real love, he's an Australian Shepherd mix who is looking for a new home due to his family's change in circumstances.  He's currently living in our area with two young children, 10 and 8, who love him dearly and he loves them.  He's a truly happy little thing, loves his long walks, loves to play with other dogs, and according to his family is extremely goofy and entertaining!  Carbon is house trained, leash trained and crate trained.  He knows his basic commands such as, sit, lay down, stay, leave it, and let's go!  He's still working on some of the more advanced puppy training - he still jumps a bit, and he needs chew toys to keep him from chewing things he shouldn't chew - very typical young dog behavior.  Carbon will do well in just about any family environment but we are suggesting children of 7 years and up only because he's a larger dog and still jumps a bit. However, a large dog savvy family would be fine.  He is looking for semi-active to active family or companion, someone who will continue his puppy/young dog training to make him the best adult dog he can be, and someone with the time and energy to love, play, walk, and snuggle with him.  As with all new pets, Carbon will need time to decompress and grow accustom to his new home, people, and any new fur siblings.  Carbon has not yet had the opportunity to meet cats so that is an unknown.  As Carbon is in the area, meet and greets are available to approved adopters.       Applications can be submitted through https://lgarinc.org/adoption-application/.  Please note that you must be 25 years of age to adopt and we reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone.  All applications are subject to review and approval and a tax-deductible adoption donation is required to be paid prior to adoption day. Story
Hi there! My name is April, and I'm a 5-month-old Aussie/Poodle mix with a heart full of love and 21 pounds of pure sweetness. I'm a cuddle bug who adores being close to my humans, soaking up all the love and attention I can get. Whether it's curling up next to you on the couch or following you around the house, I'm happiest when I'm by your side. I came to this wonderful rescue with my two siblings, Athena and Abby, who are also looking for their forever homes and we're all excited about the bright future ahead of us. I get along great with other dogs, so if you already have a furry friend at home, I'm sure we'll become best buddies in no time. Playtime is always more fun with friends! I'm looking for a forever home where I can continue to grow, learn, and share my love! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Ms Lulu is quite the character! She is happy and funny and Loves to run and run. When she stops, she stops! She took over the house and yard the first day protecting and keeping all threats away from the fence. She is a snuggler and will sit on the couch and sleep in the big person bed or an open crate. She does prowl and protect through the night. She is house trained and uses a doggy door. Lulu is not good with small dogs as her breed likes to keep the "rodents" at bay. I would say no dog under 20lbs - otherwise male or female dogs are fine. No idea about cats. She is a cattle dog and seems as if she may have been trained to herd beyond what comes natural? she is not good with lazy pet goats, pigs and chickens. Cattle and horses would be safe. She is an active working dog who would love an active lifestyle if you can provide it. She loves the water too. She will herd children by nipping on their heels so maybe a bit older children who understand that's just what her breed does and won't cry. She does pretty well on a leash, rides in the car like a pro, loves puppies because she was a mom a time or two. Her tongue hangs out and her jaw is a bit off (maybe birth defect or an injury) but it does not affect her appetite! She is spayed, HW negative and up to date on shots. please apply at www.krrtx.org/forms Please note Lulu is in San Antonio, TX and is available to be transported to your location with Your TX Rescue Connection transport. The fee includes adoption and transportation fee.
