Story
Hi there! I am a lovable little puppy! Even though I am cute as a button I will take some work as I adjust into my new home. Don`t get me wrong, we will have a lot of fun in the meantime but I will need time to understand what`s expected of me. I will need help on all those fun puppy things like house training and basic obedience. I want to learn everything I possibly can. I am pretty excited about life and doing new things! My goal is to be your lifelong companion and I should learn quickly with praise, treats and little patience. I`d really love for us to get enrolled in training classes, after all school is the best way to get us both educated on what it takes to raise a puppy! It will be fun to watch me as I`m learning, after all puppies can be pretty silly. If you`re ready to take on all the fun and companionship, come on out to Wayside Waifs today!

Story
Meet Klaus, a 6-year-old red merle Australian Shepherd with a playful spirit and loyal heart. He’s high-energy and loves fetch—his favorite way to bond and burn off energy. Klaus is smart and knows sit, down, up, paw, leave it, stay, and out. He thrives with structure and enjoys working with his person. His routine is simple: 1 cup of food morning and evening, plus 2–3 daily outings. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, on monthly flea/tick and dewormer, and regularly groomed.Klaus is still learning leash manners and may pull when excited, but he’s eager to improve with consistency. He’d do best with an active home ready to engage his mind and energy. If you’re looking for a fun, devoted companion who’s always ready to play, Klaus is your dog.

Story
Please read bio before applying! Meet Merlin. This young man has had a rough go of it at just 1 year old. Merlin came to us as a commercial breeder release and when we got him at 6 months old, he had never been handled by humans. As a result, he is very distrusting of humans and requires a lot of patience and time to adjust to new people. Merlin is very dog friendly and because he is more comfortable with dogs than humans, we are requiring that he go to a home with at least one other canine. This will help set him up for success. He will also need a home with a secure fenced in yard, as he can be a bit of a flight risk, and he will need a home with no small children. Merlin has the potential to be an amazing companion, he just needs someone who will give him the time he needs to adjust

Story
This handsome 5-year-old purebred Australian Shepherd is looking for a new home where he can truly thrive. We are rehoming him with a heavy heart, but his safety and happiness (and our family's) come first. He is playful, energetic, and deeply affectionate. He loves to play, go on adventures, and curl up with the people he loves. Australian Shepherds are working dogs at heart, and he is no exception - smart, loyal, and always eager to be involved in whatever you're doing. Important - Please Read: He has food aggression and must be fed separately from other pets and children. He should not be in a home with young children. He bit a child in our home during a food-related incident, which is the reason we are rehoming him. This behavior is manageable with the right owner, but it requires awareness, consistency, and proper boundaries around mealtimes. He would do best in a home with: adults only, or older, dog-savvy children(12+), and plenty of space to run and exercise.
