Story
Blink 182 (also known as Jack) is a quiet and shy boy who is looking for a calm, loving female-only home to settle into that has a safe little space he can call his own. He's potty trained and very clean. He doesn't like loud people or noises, so he would do best in a quiet home that doesn't have a lot of activity or visitors. He can be reactive to very loud and fast-moving strangers that enter his space; he just wants to protect his family as best as he can. Riding in the car is not something Jack is a fan of, but he very much enjoys short walks and stays with his foster mom even when he is not on leash (although he is leashed when away from their country home). He also enjoys long naps and being near his foster mom, although he is not a lap dog and prefers to have a good bit of personal space. Since he sleeps so much, his foster mom finds that he doesn't need to be crated. He would likely do best in a home without children. Jack has a strong prey drive so should not be in a home with cats or other small animals. He has not been around other dogs in foster, so we are unsure of how he would coexist in a home with canine siblings. Blink 182 would do best with a patient adopter who gives him plenty of time to adjust to dog life.

Story
Boone needs a lot of space to burn energy he has had over 3k in training from a program in Kansas and will need continued work to learn those skills he was taught. he isn’t doing well with our older little dogs and keeping them apart all the time isn’t working out. He is a very smart boy at around 18 months old just needs someone with more time and ability health wise to work with him. He does good with my kids but is still a hyper pup so can get a little rambunctious. He loves being outside, but is a digger and squirrel chaser probably not a good farm dog as he may chase animals. He does okay with my larger dominate female basically just pesters her till she barks and puts him in his place but in her old age she is having a hard time. He could potentially be okay with other larger dogs and has been in a doggy daycare setting before. Key things to note is he is a digger, chewer and hyper but also has so much love to offer and is create trained.

Story
Meet Zanthus, a 3 year old Australian Shepherd with the bluest eyes. The way Zanthus looks at you, it almost looks like he always feels alarmed or guilty because he is so wide eyed, and his eyes are just so blue! But, Zanthus is just too cute to be guilty about anything!!!! He has the prettiest, tri-colored Australian coat and with a normal, healthy diet, that coat will be so, so soft. Zanthus is in a foster home and as his foster parents get to know him more, we will definitely update his post. We do know that Zanthus was neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before going off to his foster home. Zanthus is living in a foster home. If you would like to learn more about him or want to meet him, please email foster@kcpetproject.org

Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.  Penny is one of a pack of four that were abandoned and rescued. Unfortunately, we do not know the parents so the breed is a best guess. We’ve had suggestions of Aussie, Retriever, Lab, Border Collie, Pointer so we just picked two! One thing is for sure, her coat is soft, wavy and snuggle worthy. She is sweet, playful, curious, and fun. Penny is currently fostered with another canine and her sibling Penelope. She is learning some basic rules for good manners. Penny is smart and quickly learning commands like sit and human expectations for living in a house. She is adjusting to a kennel and loves being in the same space as everyone else in the house. Penny is a happy puppy with all the antics you'd expect to keep you on your toes!   Approximate Birthdate: September 2023 Adoption Fee: $300 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines: Small 1-20 pounds, Med 20-50 pounds, Large 50-80 pounds, Extra Large over 80 pounds.     For more information please fill out an application.     CONTACT INFO The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA) Web site: tarasdream.org Adoption Information & Applications: https://tarasdream.org/adopt Upcoming Adoption Events: https://tarasdream.org/events Email: email@tarasdream.org December 1, 2023, 8:19 pm

Story
Charlotte is a 6 year old dog that needs a loving home. She likes to be both inside and outside, but needs to be kept in her crate when owner is not at home. She does great in her crate, and sleeps in her crate at night. Crate will be provided. She is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly. She is super sweet, good with kids and other dogs (likes to wrestle and play). We are moving and cannot have 3 dogs in our new place. Also, I just had to move my mother into Assisted Living, and I will be needing to spend quite a bit of time focused on her and cannot be a great owner to Charlotte right now.
