She came to us after her original family was no longer able to care for her, and she has been settling beautifully into her foster home. Hazel is housebroken and crate trained, and she sleeps quietly in her crate through the night. She can be a little cautious when meeting new people, but with just a little time and patience she opens up and shows her sweet, affectionate side. True to her Aussie roots, Hazel is a high-energy girl who would love an active home and would especially enjoy having a dog friend of similar size to romp and play with. She currently weighs around 60 pounds and could stand to trim down a bit with exercise and play. Hazel is loving, loyal, and ready to find a forever family who understands and appreciates her smart, energetic nature. ✨ All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Please read bio before applying! Meet Merlin. This young man has had a rough go of it at just 1 year old. Merlin came to us as a commercial breeder release and when we got him at 6 months old, he had never been handled by humans. As a result, he is very distrusting of humans and requires a lot of patience and time to adjust to new people. Merlin is very dog friendly and because he is more comfortable with dogs than humans, we are requiring that he go to a home with at least one other canine. This will help set him up for success. He will also need a home with a secure fenced in yard, as he can be a bit of a flight risk, and he will need a home with no small children. Merlin has the potential to be an amazing companion, he just needs someone who will give him the time he needs to adjust

It breaks my heart to do this, but Bjorn deserves a home where he can truly thrive. He's not just a pet; he's a companion who brings so much joy. I've had him for about a year, and he's been an amazing dog. He’s a really nice and warm-hearted dog, and he loves to play and is good with children and other pets. He’s loves to play fetch and cuddle and he’s such a sweetheart. Unfortunately, our circumstances have changed. We simply don't have enough land for him to run and explore, and everyone in the house is constantly busy with work and what not. I feel that he would be much happier with a new family who can give him the time and attention he deserves. This decision hasn't been easy, but I know it's the right one for Bjorn. I'm hoping to find a loving home for him where he can continue to be the happy, playful, and affectionate dog that he is.
