Story
🧠 Big brain alert! 🧠 And lucky for you, this big brain lives inside a very pretty boy 🐾named Tyson 🐾. He is a 3-year-old Australian Shepherd, and is typical of this wonderful breed, looking for action and intellectual stimulation. He weighs about 60 pounds. Tyson is well trained and knows tons of commands, including: sit, stay, lay down and shake. He is also responsive to whistles, and he will wait until his command to eat his food. He walks fine on a leash and is crate trained and house trained. Show him or teach him what else you would like him to do, and he’ll be all about it. Tyson is affectionate and loving to his people, and he gets along well with kids. You’ll want to pet that beautiful coat of his, and he’ll be happy to let you! He’ll do best in an active home with people who will further this training and give him opportunities to do jobs and/or go on outings, to feed that bring brain of his. He gets along ok with female dogs, but Tyson is reactive to male dogs. He should live in a cat-free home, as well. So if you want a boy who will keep you busy and keep you thinking on your feet, Tyson absolutely is your guy. No need for other dogs around when you have Tyson to play with and train. Tyson is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, as well as current on preventatives for heartworm and flea/tick. His adoption fee is $175. To meet Tyson, get approved to adopt, and his foster will contact you to set up a meeting. Apply today at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
SOCKS IS READY TO STEAL YOUR HEART ❤️ (and maybe your shoes) Four months old. One missing leg. A whole lot of sass. And absolutely zero self-pity. Socks is an Australian Shepherd mix who has already overcome more in her short life than most dogs ever will. After being hit by a car and suffering a broken leg that couldn’t be repaired, she had to have it amputated. And do you know what she did? She got up. She ran. She played. She lived. And she is thriving! This girl does not see herself as “missing” anything. She zooms. She wrestles with the other dogs. She loves.to chase toys. She keeps up with the other dogs like a tiny, determined little rocket on three legs. 💥 She is full of puppy energy, great with other dogs, super smart (hello, Aussie brain), confident and resilient. And she is a little bossy 😜 Socks is very much an Australian Shepherd, and maybe some border collie. That means she’s active, busy, and yes… she does like to nip in typical herding-breed fashion. It’s not aggression — it’s instinct and puppy behavior — but because of that, we recommend a home without young children, we are working on it, but we haven’t broken the habit yet. She will thrive with: 🏡 An active person/couple 🐕 A playful dog sibling is a must for Socks 🧠 Mental stimulation and training ❤️ A home committed to guiding a smart, energetic pup 🪜Limited steps in the home might be good as she ages Socks doesn’t need pity. She needs adventure. She needs leadership. She needs a doggie friend to play with. She needs someone who sees her three legs as part of her story — not a limitation. Socks is expected to be 40-50 pounds full grown. She is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, dewormed, current on preventatives, spayed, and microchipped. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
My name is Molle Lynn&#44 and Im still trying to make sense of a world that suddenly feels very different. Im a seven-year-old Australian Shepherd mix&#44 and not long ago&#44 I lost my person-the one who knew all my quirks&#44 my favorite spots to nap&#44 and the little ways I showed love. Im doing my best&#44 but Ill be honest: Im scared and confused&#44 and my heart is still catching up to everything thats changed.

Ive always been a bit on the shy side&#44 and right now that shyness is wrapped in a layer of grief. It may take me some time to settle in&#44 to feel safe&#44 and to remember that good things can still happen. But once I get to know you&#44 I become a sweet little shadow&#44 following gently at your heels and soaking up the comfort of simply being near someone who cares. Im loyal in that quiet&#44 steady way older dogs often are&#44 and I have so much love left to give.

I would do best in a home without cats-theyre just a little too tempting for me to chase&#44 and Id rather set myself up for success. What Im really hoping for is a calm&#44 patient family who understands that healing takes time and that older gals like me bring a special kind of joy: the joy of companionship&#44 of gratitude&#44 of a heart that knows how precious a second chance can be.

Come meet me today. Im ready to find the person who will help me feel safe again and show me that home is still out there waiting.

Story
Please read bio before applying! Meet Merlin. This young man has had a rough go of it at just 1 year old. Merlin came to us as a commercial breeder release and when we got him at 6 months old, he had never been handled by humans. As a result, he is very distrusting of humans and requires a lot of patience and time to adjust to new people. Merlin is very dog friendly and because he is more comfortable with dogs than humans, we are requiring that he go to a home with at least one other canine. This will help set him up for success. He will also need a home with a secure fenced in yard, as he can be a bit of a flight risk, and he will need a home with no small children. Merlin has the potential to be an amazing companion, he just needs someone who will give him the time he needs to adjust

Story
Jamie is a very sweet and snuggly girl! She has really bad anxiety and because of that she barks a ton and chews on anything she can get her paws on. She doesn’t like being left alone for more than a few hours. Very playful and a lot of crazy mixed in- she likes to wrestle with dogs her size, so she can get a little much at times with that and her bark. At the moment she’s in the kennel a lot more than I’d like her to be, but unfortunately have made the decision to try and find a new loving home for her, where she can run, play, snuggle, etc. I got her from a shelter in Oklahoma in August of 2025 and she is about to be two in August of 2026. She needs someone who can be there with her a lot to play and probably go on walks. I also have been wanting to get her into obedience classes, but don’t have the funds at the moment to get her in. My work schedule doesn’t allow for me to be home very much in the evenings and late nights, same as my parents schedules as well. Any concerns?
