Story
Noel is registered. Noel is a loving 9 yr. old indoor dog. She has been raised with other dogs, cats, and children. She's not real active and likes to lay around most of the time. She'll bark when someone comes into the driveway. She has never shown aggression or bitten anyone. She's very attentive. She is trained to sit, stay, come and go lay down. She's a "very easy keeper" as the vet would say. She will follow you from room to room or outdoors. She'll look at you anticipating a command. She was bred twice and threw 6 pups in each litter. She is very gentle, affectionate, eager to please her keeper. She is used to receiving a milk bone treat when she comes back inside after doing her business. She enjoys going for car rides, but there has been a couple of occasions when she got motion sickness. The perfect home for Noel would be someone who is looking for a companion, and not a playmate. She's a little overweight and not real active. She thoroughly enjoys being near her keeper.

Story
I have a Canine Genetic Testing Report for Boomer. He is registered with the American Stock Dog. Boomer is an affectionate 10 yr old indoor dog. He will be your shadow. He loves attention. Although he lays around most of the day indoors, he loves to run when outdoors. He is trained to sit, stay, come, fetch and go lay down. He was raised with other dogs, cats and children. He doesn't like loud noises and will sit beside you during thunderstorms. He loves to go for car rides. He was the stud for the puppies we raised. He'll bark when someone comes into the driveway but has never shown aggression or bitten anyone. He'll run up to strangers and sniff them. He has occasionally jumped up on them wanting affection but will react to a "no" command. Boomer enjoys the attention of being groomed. Boomer would be a great companion for someone who is active, or even not so active. Since my wife passed, Boomer has slept in the bed with me. He stays on his side and doesn't interfere with my sleep.

Story
Scout is 9 years old. We have had him for 8 years. We purchased him from an individual who could no longer keep him. We used him as a stud to breed. Since we had two studs, he was separated from our other dogs. He was kept inside the home until he "came of age". He has primarily been kept in a dog run with inside shelter. Scout doesn't know a stranger. He loves everyone. He has never shown any aggression to any person or animal. I am not aware of anything that rattles him. We live in the country. We take him out of the dog run daily for play and exercise. He loves to play fetch with a ball. He will fetch the ball an average of three or four times, then he voluntarily returns to the dog run. He'll drop the ball, then lay down and wants his stomach scratched. After a good scratch, he returns to the dog run where he waits for his milk bone treat. If a car happens to go by, he'll look at it, then go back to whatever he was doing. He has never chased a vehicle. Loves to go for car rides.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Virginia (virginiak@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.    Nigel is a Mini-Aussie mix with a cute under bite and curled tail. He is affectionate with a hidden streak of silliness. Because he is an Aussie he is reserved at first with new people and animals. But, once introduced he is very relaxed and comfortable. With his special person or persons he is very affectionate and loyal. He was raised  by a single owner in a loving  home with a cat. Until his human for health reasons  moved in with a daughter, Nigel lived a charmed life with his cat pal in the suburbs. Tearfully, his human surrendered him to his vet asking only that he find a loving family and home for Nigel. The vet contacted us  (The Animal Rescue Alliance).and we took him in as a foster. He was confused and for several days sat at the door waiting for his human. Gradually, Nigel adapted to his new home in a downtown loft. His trust grew for his foster human and foster brother, Cai, a boisterous Welsh Cardigan Corgi. Getting used to different people and dogs has been his biggest challenge. By nature, he is reserved and in  his suburban life he had limited social interaction with other people and dogs. Nigel is now a city fellow. He greets the neighbors in the vestibule and on the street with manners. Nigel enjoys going on walks with and without his foster brother.  City noises and the occasional squirrel do not  faze him.  Nigel enjoys walks to local coffee shops and sits at the foster’s feet people-watchong! If you want a gentle and devoted pal for life, Nigel is your boy. He lives for his peeps and his home. With his perfect manners and loving upbringing, Nigel is a companion par excellence. Let him get to know you, and you will have a canine friend forever.   Approximate Birthdate:   August 2021 Adoption Fee: $250 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.  Size is subjective but we use the following guidelines:  Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg) X-Large 101 lbs (46 kg) or more For more information please fill out an application.   CONTACT INFO The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA) Web site: tarasdream.org Adoption Information & Applications: https://tarasdream.org/adopt Upcoming Adoption Events: https://tarasdream.org/events Email: email@tarasdream.org June 15, 2026, 10:14 am

Story
Please read bio before applying! Meet Merlin. This young man has had a rough go of it at just 1 year old. Merlin came to us as a commercial breeder release and when we got him at 6 months old, he had never been handled by humans. As a result, he is very distrusting of humans and requires a lot of patience and time to adjust to new people. Merlin is very dog friendly and because he is more comfortable with dogs than humans, we are requiring that he go to a home with at least one other canine. This will help set him up for success. He will also need a home with a secure fenced in yard, as he can be a bit of a flight risk, and he will need a home with no small children. Merlin has the potential to be an amazing companion, he just needs someone who will give him the time he needs to adjust
