Meet Chip! This handsome boy is being fostered in East TN Athens. Out of state welcome. The adoption fee listed on adopt a pet includes transport to your area. We use Rescue Riders for all our transport needs because they are the best. Chip is such a sweet handsome boy. He is very affectionate and playful. He is a young boy almost a year old and curious as they come. He had the head tilt move to expert level. He wags his super short tail all the time. He’s a happy go lucky kind of boy. He was going to be euthanized due to time and space at our local shelter so we pulled him out to save him. He was adopted and then returned we were told he had some food guarding tendencies. Well we don’t see this at all in fact we accidentally forgotten on a few occasions about that and petted him while eating or moved his bowl while he was eating and he could have cared less. We are not sure if this was directed towards other dogs or not but we do not feed them together here. He has also not been possessive of any toys at all. He plays well with other dogs large and small. He is crate trained and is doing excellent at house training. He is still just a young pup so he would need to be treated like a puppy. Don’t leave things out for him to get into. Take him out to potty in his new home and praise him for going on the new yard etc. he’s a great dog and will make a lucky family very happy. We think he would do best with older kids because he does play pretty hard and would knock the smaller ones around. Apply at petpath.org.

This handsome fellow and his siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Big boy is a gentle boy but does love to run and play with other dogs. Big boy was the largest of the puppies, but his siblings have caught up to him. He has done amazing with his house and crate training. He is so deserving of a wonderful home to call his own. Story

This is Butters, a full bred red Merle Aussie. I got her when she was 8 weeks old from a farm in Airville PA. She is currently 5, her birthday is March 6th. She is fully trained. I trained her myself. She knows some tricks, what “go up” and “go down” the stairs means, gimmie kiss, on and off leashed trained, potty trained, etc. She’s a wonderful dog and this hurts my heart to do this but I want her to be happy and SHE NEEDS SPACE TO RUN AND PLAY. She is a protector but she’s not mean. She didn’t grow up around small children so I’m not sure about her temperament with them and she tends to avoid the cats that she sees in the streets instead of being nasty to them. She was raised around two other dogs so after getting to know them, if any, she should be fine. She loves to chase the squirrels but if you catch it with your eyes before she does and tell her to “leave it” she will. This is my baby but I want her to have the best life possible and I’m unable to provide that to her right now.

We have had Koa since he was a baby . He has had extensive private training and is very well behaved and trained . He loves all our family members and is a sweet heart ! He had developed some fears and does not like strangers in the house . Once he gets to know a person , he is their best friend . ( need to be patient ) Koa needs a strong owner who can handle his fears . Koa would love a fenced in yard . I will provide 6 months of food for Koa. We can do a trial period and if it does not work out i will take Koa back .

Gemma is an extremely loving, energetic, and playful girl! She is aprox one and a half years old and 50 lbs. Gemma is house trained, knows sit, stay, and paw. She loves to play with other dogs and has boundless energy. She would do well in a house where she can get all the exercise and attention she needs. If you have an active lifestyle, she would be a great companion for runs, walks, and hikes. She does tend to jump because she is always so excited to see you, so she might not do well with small children. At the end of the day she loves to curl up on the couch in your lap and press her head against you to show how much she cares! She would do best with a fenced in yard so she can go out and run and get exercise. Gemma is spayed and up to date on shots. She is a great girl.
