Huxley can be a little stand offish when meeting new people. Like most dog until he gets to know you and be comfortable. He likes females more the males. He is almost 5 and blind in one eye from a cat scratch as a puppy. He will chew things if left unattended so I work a lot and I have to keep him in a cage when I’m not home.

Story
Meet Chip! This handsome boy is being fostered in East TN Athens. Out of state welcome. The adoption fee listed on adopt a pet includes transport to your area. We use Rescue Riders for all our transport needs because they are the best. Chip is such a sweet handsome boy. He is very affectionate and playful. He is a young boy almost a year old and curious as they come. He had the head tilt move to expert level. He wags his super short tail all the time. He’s a happy go lucky kind of boy. He was going to be euthanized due to time and space at our local shelter so we pulled him out to save him. He was adopted and then returned we were told he had some food guarding tendencies. Well we don’t see this at all in fact we accidentally forgotten on a few occasions about that and petted him while eating or moved his bowl while he was eating and he could have cared less. We are not sure if this was directed towards other dogs or not but we do not feed them together here. He has also not been possessive of any toys at all. He plays well with other dogs large and small. He is crate trained and is doing excellent at house training. He is still just a young pup so he would need to be treated like a puppy. Don’t leave things out for him to get into. Take him out to potty in his new home and praise him for going on the new yard etc. he’s a great dog and will make a lucky family very happy. We think he would do best with older kids because he does play pretty hard and would knock the smaller ones around. Apply at petpath.org.

Story
Hi!  My name is Bobby and me and my brother Billy are both looking for our own forever homes.  While we do okay together, we would each really like to get most all of the attention so we are not looking to be adopted together and would prefer having our own family.  We are surrenders from a backyard breeder of miniature aussies and were the only two left after our siblings got adopted and our owners said they didn't want us anymore.  Lucky for us, before we ended up in that scary place called an animal shelter BCAA said they would help us!  We are around 7mos old now and I'm a little bigger than my brother at 18lbs while my brother Billy is around 17lbs; we are not expected to get too much bigger.  We were really confused and scared when we first came to our foster home, but everyone has been really nice to us giving us lots of good food, treats and attention and we are coming out of our shells, me a little faster than Billy.  We have gotten along with all of the other dogs we have met and haven't even bothered those things called cats.  Once we learned the schedule here we have done good in our crates without any accidents; however, if we see or hear you while in our crates we will let you know not to forget about us as we both prefer to be out and about with you.  We never had a leash on prior to coming into foster and are still trying to figure them out so we will need a fenced yard to take care of our business.  Our foster mom says if you are interested in one of us, please research our breed first as we do have a tendency to have lots of energy.  If you are then still interested in either me or Billy, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. When asked to describe Carlita, her foster said, &#194&#147 she's the sweetest dog ever, loves everyone, good with other dogs, loves going for walks, good on a leash, outgoing, and active!&#194&#148 Doesn't leave much else to say, huh? Carlita is a 3 year old Aussi /Shepherd mix who will add joy to any family she joins. She weighs about 35 pounds and sports a medium length coat of tri/merle. She has been treated for heartworm. What a great dog!!! (posted 6/6/25, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **June 6, 2025, 5:20 pm

Story
Meet Brownie — a beautiful 5-year-old merle Australian Shepherd with a gentle soul and a heart ready to heal. Brownie came from a home where her needs were sadly overlooked. When she arrived, she was severely matted and heartbreakingly shy. But with patience, care, and love, Brownie has begun to bloom. Over the past several weeks, she’s been fully evaluated, vetted, and professionally groomed. Now, this sweet girl is showing her true colors: she’s playful, affectionate, and incredibly gentle. Though shy at first, once she warms up, Brownie’s loving nature shines through. She’s quiet, crate trained, and thrives in calm, patient environments. Brownie is now ready for a second chance — a forever home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished. Call Ambler Dog Rescue to discuss 27-471-3000. This girl ended in the shelter due to her owner being arrested and not being able to find her a home. Gracie is a great dog who has fit into her foster home quite well. She is learning about cats and being on a leash. She is housebroken with a dog door but was also house trained without one. She is a bit of energy so will need an active family to keep up! She is friendly and has gotten a long with other dogs of various sizes really well. She loves to play and is pure fun! She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Mork and Mindy were found by a dumpster at an apartment complex looking lost and bewildered. So, we decided to take them to the clinic to get them all checked out and cleaned up to see if we could find them a loving home. Mork has been fully vetted, up to date on all shots, neutered and microchipped. So, he is all ready to go to his new forever home. Won't you send in an inquiry about him to see if you are a good match? We are pretty sure that Mork and Mindy are simply looking for a family they can live with and show all of their attention and love to. They were so sad when we found them but have warmed up to our staff and are extremely loving. They are very playful and just love all of the attention. If you would like to add the darling Mork to your home, please respond by using the big black button marked " Ask About Me" and we will send you an application. These dogs are being fostered in TN but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.
