Finn’s an 8mo 10lb Mini Aussie Shepherd mix. He’s dog and kid friendly. He’s housetrained. He loves being in his fosters secure fenced in yard and doing zoomies. He will need work on harness leash walking. He’s very happy and playful. He needs warm up time with new people and dogs, since he gets nervous/fearful in public. He will bark at new people/dogs and may growl but never bites. He loves people and other dogs and once he gets used to his new environment he is very cuddly and affectionate. Finn’s foster says: He needs to work on walking in public areas where other people/animals are present. He gets nervous in public and will bark at people and animals. He’s incredibly sweet and intelligent. He’s a working/herding small breed that needs to get that energy out. Loves to be with his people and sleep near you. He’s a wonderful boy Finn’s foster requires a secure fenced in yard, another playful dog, allowed plenty of time to get his energy out, mental stimulation along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Finn as all dogs should have at least 2 weeks in their new home with just their people who live in the home and to not have people over for at least 2 weeks. Dogs need time to settle in and adjust to their new people and environment first so they can learn to trust them first. Finn’s neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Currently in Hammonton, NJ. Hans came into rescue as a puppy with his siblings. He will be 1 in Nov. His sibling had a DNA test done showing predominately Australian Shepherd/mini-AS with chihuahua and jack russell. He is a sweet athletic boy that craves affection. House, crate and leash trained. Completely vetted and ready for his forever home. He is fostered near Knoxville, TN but transportation to a location near you is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Shoto is a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd who has been a part of our family. He is a beautiful, energetic, and intelligent dog with lots of personality. We are looking for a loving, responsible home that can give him the time, attention, exercise, and space he deserves. Shoto would do best with someone who understands the Australian Shepherd breed and can keep up with his energy levels and exercise needs. An active household with a yard would be ideal. We want to find him a family that will be patient with him, continue working on his training, and give him the love and care he deserves. Shoto is energetic, intelligent, playful, and full of life. Rehoming him is not an easy decision, but with our growing family and a new baby, we want to make sure he goes to a home where his needs can be fully met. This dog is part of our shelter outreach program where we take dogs from overcrowded shelters in hopes of finding them a forever home here! We generally do not have much background info on them and cannot guarantee they are housebroken. They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Ray is a 6 month young Aussie mix, approx 18 lbs and eager to learn! Playtime, walks, cuddle time, sign him up! Ray's a bit nervous as he adjusts to shelter life but hopefully he won't have to wait long. We are ordering up a home with a fenced in yard and a sign up for obedience classes so he can be even more perfect than he already is. *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years. 10/14/2026 4 pm

Story

Cody is 2 years old, his birthday is Aug 3. 2024. He is a super sweet, energetic, fun loving dog. He loves learning and can do multiple tricks, including using a few buttons to talk. He is very smart. However, unfortunately, I have had a traumatic experience with a different dog (retired service dog got loose and attacked me) and I thought I was fine about it. Until Cody realized that growling completely terrifies me. He is so smart, he now uses it against me whenever he doesn't want to do something. That's why I marked behavioral issues. But, he has never bitten me, he has never attacked me, he simply uses that fear against me to push me around, so I don't think he is actually aggressive, I'm just a scaredy cat. Vet said so as well. He is on flea medicine, but he won't let me bath him so he is a bit scruffy and bothered while the medicine kicks in. I love him and am devastated, but I can't keep living in fear of my own dog.

Hi! My name is Dylan and I am looking for a forever home. I was picked up as a stray by animal control and taken to this super scary place called a shelter where, after no one came to claim or adopt me, I was placed on something bad called "the list". Fortunately for me, a small local rescue pulled me before that could happen, and then contacted BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes! When I first arrived at my foster's, it was initially thought I was a black dog, but on closer inspection it was seen that I'm not black but a deep slate gray color which my foster mom says is really beautiful (awe, shucks!). Best guess by everyone is I might be a small aussie mix with my docked tail and weighing in at only around 26lbs; however, the vet feels I'm only about 9-10 months old so I may fill out a little more but shouldn't get too much bigger. I was a little shy and confused when I first got to my foster but it didn't take me long to learn I could trust and then I have really enjoyed getting attention (those treats helped!). I have gotten along with most all of the other dogs I have met & I love playing with them ... well, there was this small, obnoxious little guy that we just didn't jive together; so far, I haven't bothered the cats I've encountered. I have done really well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of my bedding, and after I learned I was going to get breakfast, dinner and treats in there, I started going in on my own; however, I would really prefer to be out with you.
