Story

Riley is an adorable, sweet puppy that was found running loose in rural Kentucky. He and his brother, Waldo, were transported to Columbus to be fostered by Pet Promise. We are guessing he’s about 10-12 weeks old and weighs about 10 pounds. Because we don’t know the size or breed of his parents, we can’t be sure how big he will get, but we would guess 30-50 pounds. By their looks, we are guessing he is an Aussie/Shepherd Mix. He probably was raised outside because he’s doing outstandingly on house breaking. Riley is a typical happy, playful puppy. He is very sweet and loves people, especially when he’s in your lap and being pet! He likes kids and other dogs. We can really see Riley doing well growing up in just about any family environment. He would be a wonderful addition for an active family who can give him lots of exercise and enrichment to help him be the best pup he can be! He is a smart boy and is showing progress each day learning a lot! He is working on his puppy commands and manners. He will need a patient, consistent family to continue his training. He will ready for puppy classes when he is adopted and fully vaccinated. We HIGHLY encourage obedience/behavior training for all of our pups once adopted into their forever homes. Luna is a 1.5 years old and is a great dog, but very skiddish and we haven’t been able to break her of that with others. She is very loving and sweet once she’s warm up to you. She hasn’t been great around children (barking no biting). Overall a great dog but we have too many nieces and nephews around and don’t feel it’s fair to have to lock her up when guests are over. With the right family she could be the perfect dog 😀

Story

Poor Oakley has had a whole lot of bad luck in his life. He was found as a stray, but not before being hit by a car. He ended up with a fractured femur. He was picked up by Animal contro and sat in a Cell for a while before being put on the euthanasia list. We couldn’t stand to see this handsome, young guy lose his life without ever knowing how wonderful life and even humans could be, so we tagged him and brought him to Ohio to have surgery on his leg. Sadly, the first orthopedic surgeon we saw Said the break was so severe, added with the amount of time that had passed since the accident, we would need to amputate. We decided to week a second opinion and this time the doctor believed he could fix it. So we went forward with the surgery. He is 10 weeks post surgery and doing very well. He needs an adopter who will take their time with him for a short while as he continues his journey to complete healing. Oakley is working on his housetraining and does very well, but hasn’t totally mastered it yet.
