Story
Balu is the big lazy fluffy bear of the three. He does like walks but gets tired quickly. Hes our most vocal talker, lets you know when someone new is around but lets go when its time. He like to run sometimes, and has big beautiful blue eyes. Has brand new knees in both back legs. He had surgery on his acls, but we had the best surgeon fix him up good. They like sleeping in their crates with the door closed and then we leave them roaming throughout the day and then we let them out for their potty breaks. Unfortunately, these aren’t your average Aussies with a lot of outdoor experience. They do spend a lot of time inside in the air conditioning, but to love the outside when it’s decent outside, my wife has always worried about that they would get to overheated. Just hoping to find somebody who could give them a good rest of their life that due to our family dynamics we were unable to keep them

Luke is one of our three Aussies and they are all from the same litter, he has a brother and a sister. They were born in October 2018. Luke is very hyperactive. He loves to fetch and catch. He will return items to you. It doesn’t like to sit too long to be petted, He’ll get crazy jump around. We always thought of him a Derpy kind of dog. He likes to go for walks. He’s a scheduled dog. He knows when it’s time to eat and sleep. They like sleeping in their crates with the door closed and then we leave them roaming throughout the day and then we let them out for their potty breaks. Sky is the smaller sister of the three. She’s very loving, loves walks and will chase after balls but not bring back. She gets timid, from loud noises. Loves cleaning brother Balu’s ears. Story
Loyal dog very attached to his owner. However, the owner now has TBI and can no longer provide consistent care. Tried re-homing through the humane society but he displayed too much separation anxiety in their kennel environment. He used to have a stable loving home so he's a sweet boy that's had to watch his owner experience personality changes. It's been difficult to manage alone. He's up to date on his rabies vaccine. He's a bone dog who will sit and chew one for hours if you let him. He is very strong however so I'd recommend a home with a sturdy fence line and a steel kennel if you plan to kennel him, the wire ones just bend to his will as he's never been fond of being caged and likes to test the limitations when your not looking. He's smarter than he seems, likes to pretend he doesn't know what you are asking him to do while he stalls to look for food or a toy. He's got a natural prey drive towards smaller animals like chickens but is really great with kids and other dogs.

Story
Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

Story
Meet Oliver — a beautiful Blue Merle Mini Aussie with a sensitive soul and a heart that’s worth the wait. Oliver can be very shy when meeting new people and needs a patient adopter who will allow him the time and space to build trust at his own pace. Fast introductions and busy environments can feel overwhelming for him, but with kindness, consistency, and understanding, Oliver blossoms into an incredibly loyal and loving companion.Oliver is looking for a calm, predictable home where he can feel safe and secure. He would do best with gentle older children or, ideally, an adult-only home that can respect his sensitive nature. Once he bonds with his people, he forms deep connections and loves being close to those he trusts.Like many Aussies, Oliver enjoys regular exercise and mental enrichment to help keep him happy and balanced. Because he has never been properly socialized with other dogs, he would do best as the only dog in the home where he can have all the attention and avoid stressful interactions.Oliver may take a little extra time to open his heart, but for the right person, the bond you build with him will be incredibly special and rewarding. If you are interested in meeting Oliver, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday, 11 am – 6 pm, Sunday 11 am-4 pm (Summer Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email it to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Please follow the instructions on each pet profile.

Story
Turtle is a bright, affectionate young dog who forms deep bonds with his people and thrives on connection, structure, and routine. At home he is playful and loyal, happiest when learning new things or spending quiet time with his favorite humans. He lives happily with other dogs and cats and is a genuinely sweet presence in the home.He is a sensitive soul who feels safest in calm, predictable environments. He has received extensive training, professional support, and has a strong foundation. He simply needs the right environment to continue building confidence. He is currently working with a veterinary behaviorist and is on medication to help him navigate anxiety, and he is looking for a home that can continue that support. If you are an experienced dog person who finds a sensitive, bonded, deeply loving dog rewarding to work with, turtle might be your guy.

Story
Harper is a great dog. She is 2 years old but unfortunately I now have a job that takes me away from the home for long hours and can no longer give her the attention and walks she needs. She needs a backyard to run in and loves playing fetch. Knows sit and stay, very small dog. She can be slides at first but warms up after playtime. Contact me to set up an initial meeting to get to know her.
