At home, he is playful, loyal, and happiest when learning new things or spending quiet time with his favorite humans. He loves long decompression walks in peaceful places where he can explore at his own pace. Turtle is a sensitive soul who feels safest in calm, predictable environments. Like many intelligent dogs, he can become overwhelmed by busy settings or unfamiliar situations and may bark or react when unsure. Because of this, he is looking for an experienced, adult-only home with someone who enjoys working with thoughtful, emotionally complex dogs and uses force-free methods. He has food sensitivities (no chicken or beef) and does best on a salmon-based diet. Turtle has received extensive professional support and has a strong foundation; he simply needs the right environment and handler to continue building confidence.

Oliver can be very shy when meeting new people and needs a patient adopter who will allow him the time and space to build trust at his own pace. Fast introductions and busy environments can feel overwhelming for him, but with kindness, consistency, and understanding, Oliver blossoms into an incredibly loyal and loving companion.Oliver is looking for a calm, predictable home where he can feel safe and secure. He would do best with gentle older children or, ideally, an adult-only home that can respect his sensitive nature. Once he bonds with his people, he forms deep connections and loves being close to those he trusts.Like many Aussies, Oliver enjoys regular exercise and mental enrichment to help keep him happy and balanced. Because he has never been properly socialized with other dogs, he would do best as the only dog in the home where he can have all the attention and avoid stressful interactions.Oliver may take a little extra time to open his heart, but for the right person, the bond you build with him will be incredibly special and rewarding.If you are interested in meeting Oliver, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday, 11 am – 6 pm, Sunday 11 am-4 pm (Summer Hours). Lucky is a smart and sassy baby girl! She has loads of energy and wants to play whenever she isn't sleeping and cuddling up to you. We really think she deserves to be in a home with a backyard for her to regularly run in everyday because she needs the exercise and she is SO fast! Seriously, she is always the fastest runner at the dog park and can jump super high. 😆 She is small but has a long torso and legs like a deer haha. She would benefit from owners who are okay with barking and enjoy training. She loves to explore and go on walks and would also be a great running or hiking buddy. She loves socializing with other dogs and humans but not cats. We think that getting to live with another dog would help keep her stimulated and make her really happy, but it is not a requirement. She is also part pug! We love her so much, but alas cannot afford to keep her anymore with expenses rising and two kids of our own to take care of. We hope we can find a loving and active home for her. 💙

Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)
