Story
This is Booger. She is a 1.5 year old Australian shepherd mix with the most beautiful eyes. She loves car rides, toys, treats, and playing in water. She will jump in the tub with you if you give her the opportunity. She loves any kind of scratches she can get (she's very persuasive), guarding under your desk using your feet as a pillow, and most of all, sitting in your lap on the couch to watch a movie. She's incredibly smart and learns new tricks quickly. She does well on a leash with a harness. She's potty trained but will need to be let out regularly. She loves to chase the squirrels up the tree and protect the yard. She needs to go to a home without other dogs or cats. She's timid at first, but with treats warms up easily. I am not sure how she is around kids. If you're interested, please let me know. I want her to go to the best home for her, and unfortunately, I can not provide that as I have other dogs. If you open your home up to her, she will love and protect your family with everything she has. I would love updates if you're willing to provide them. She's a very special dog and deserves the right home that can bring out her best. She is currently not spayed, but I do have an appointment booked for her. She will also have her rabbies shot then. She has received the 10-way vaccine from TSC, but she is due for her reup. I'm willing to drive to meet you if you are further away. Please feel free to ask me any questions or if you have any concerns.

Story
Est dob: 1/22/2019 Drax is a calm, friendly, affectionate, and very easy going guy. He’s about 4 years old and is an Australian Shepard mix. He is in a home with other dogs and has been with teenage kids as well. Drax is house broken, but always expect an adjustment when any pet enters a new environment. Unfortunately, Drax was fed way too much by his previous owners and has become a little overweight. He currently weighs in at 160 lbs which is way too much for him! He is on a vet supervised caloric diet which he has done very well with and has already started to lose some of those extra pounds! He is becoming more energetic as 4 year old dog should be, by playing more with his current foster's dog and toys. He would be a great addition to a family wanting to help him on his journey with starting off with slow short walks as he works towards his goals. Drax is in a foster home with other dogs and adults that he does well with.  Please consider making this handsome boy a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we do require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at :  https://almosthomepetrescue.org/apply-now-1  $200 adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates.  If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes.October 16, 2024, 11:33 pm

Story
Meet Zoey, a young, cuddly and friendly canine resident of our shelter. Her curiosity and energy know no bounds, always eager to explore and play. She weighs 26 pounds and enjoys car rides, running, tugging, toys, walks, water, and chase. Despite her vivacious spirit, she`s also remarkably quiet and easy-going, making her a delightful companion. Zoey`s lovable nature is irresistible; she`s excitable and affectionate, ready to shower you with love. She enjoys lap time and being petted. She`s a bit jumpy, needing some training, but that`s part of her charm. She is eager to learn about leash walking and house training so you`ll be proud of her. She loves to play, both with humans and other dogs, her playful spirit bringing a smile to everyone`s face. However, Zoey does have a bit of a food possessive streak around canines, but with the right guidance, this is something that can be managed. She has no experience with children. She was given up because her canine brother was jealous of her. Zoey`s unique blend of liveliness and calmness promises a perfect pet experience. Adopt Zoey and add an endless supply of love and joy to your life. (tw 11/8/2024)

He’s a very sweet boy with a strong personality. Great with kids, but might be suited for a home with no other dogs as he has a dominate personality. He grew up with two other dogs but was the dominate one among them. Knows basic commands, like (come, stay, sit, down) Doesn’t need much walking but does love a good walk. Loves to cuddle and sit by you. He is Kennel trained and potty trained.
