Story
*** A generous donor has paid Porthos` adoption fee!Intake Reason: Surrendered due to aggression towards cats and lambsWeight: 77 lbsKnown with: ·Cats: Not good ·Dogs: Lived with brother, plays rough ·Kids: Did well, lived with ages 2 - 9 yrs old Hi there, my name is Porthos, the same as the character in The Three Musketeers. Just like him I try to be sincere and sweet and like to have a good time. The musketeer adds comic relief to the novel and I promise to make you smile every day. And, like him I will be extremely dedicated and loyal to my people. I lived with my brother, D’Arthgnan, and a family my whole life and I was happy and content. Unfortunately, I have a thing for cats and young sheep; they drive me crazy and I like to chase and torment them. My family frowned upon that behavior, so I came to WCHS to find a new family. In my previous home I spent time both indoors and outdoors, but since my hips are a little bit achy, I am thinking I much prefer the comforts of indoor living with comfy blankets and orthopedic beds. I do enjoy communing with nature, so it might be lovely to have a fenced yard where I can occasionally spend time outdoors by myself and be safe and secure. I am I am not a couch potato but I also am not a marathon runner; I enjoy a nice easy-pace walk each day to discover all the wonders of the great outdoors. Although I am past my puppy chewing phase, I have been known to chew on unacceptable items when I am alone, so I was not allowed to freely roam around the house. I am comfortable in a crate when I am alone and that way I can stay out of mischief and relax because I do not have to manage the whole house by myself. In my home, I had learned to go to the door to ask to be let outside to use the facilities. Since everything will be new when I first get adopted, it would be wise to give me plenty of opportunities for potty breaks until we learn each other’s signals and routines. I am good with kids and think little humans are loads of fun; they will need to be careful with my hips so they do not accidentally hurt me. I like canine buddies and played with my brother and some neighbor dogs; it has been fun participating in playgroups at the shelter with dogs that are my size or larger. I have a very high prey drive so small dogs may not be good playmates and any wildlife critter would also be fair game. If I live with another pooch I would appreciate if we could be fed separately because I prefer t

Story
Special adoption fee for this bonded duo of $200 Finnigan & Gunner: The best of friends.Finnigan and Gunner are both 4yr old Australian Shepherds, weighing around 40#. They came from a terrible puppy mill/hoarding situation, where they were kept in a small pen with SEVENTEEN, yes, seventeen other dogs. They were terrified, and very dependent on one another to make it through- which is exactly what they've done! These handsome boys have absolutely blossomed! They're loving, playful, and incredibly smart boys. They love to do everything together, or one on one with their person. They do, however, still look to one another for comfort. This bonded pair is great with other dogs, perfect gentlemen on a leash, crate trained (They put themselves in), and are great on car rides. You honestly couldn't ask for a better pair. ❤️ Do you love doggy kisses and snuggles? Then these two are the perfect pair for you! They do well with children and the 7-year-old in their foster home call them “big silly fluffballs.” Gunner: Gunner is a 4yr old Australian Shepherd, weighing approx 40#. Gunner is a total gentleman on a leash and is fully crate trained. He loves to go on walks, and car rides, to explore and spend time with his people! Gunner is an extremely loving boy, but does still get nervous with new things at times. With a little patience, and proper introduction, this boy will make you the greatest best friend! Gunner loves to play with other dogs of all sizes. In his foster home, his favorite thing is running around in the yard, playing with his 10# doggy friend. Gunner likes to play fetch but does not always bring the toy back. Gunner eats his food in his crate to ensure the other dogs in the home don’t get it as Gunner is a slower eater and likes to play with his food/bowl. Finnigan: Finnigan is a 4yr old Australian Shepherd weighing approx 40#. Finnigan is an absolute gentleman on a leash, fully crate trained, and does well with other dogs! He loves long walks, car rides, and snuggles! Anything to spend some quality time with his people. He has absolutely blossomed in his foster home down south and has come a long way with his confidence. Finnigan appears to need more time to relax in his new foster home than Gunner but he is still so loveable and happy. He lives for the belly scratches! Finnigan likes to play with toys and bones. His foster families favorite thing about him is, he usually has one ear up like he wants to listen to everything! We realize adopting 2 dogs at the same time can be much but they do love each other, also if we could find them a home with no males living in the home would be there best scenario. Males seem to intimidate them too much :(Thank you for your interest in a Sandi Paws Rescue, Inc. Please visit our site at sandipaws.org for more information on our organization or to fill out an application to adopt one of our pets. You can find information for volunteering on our site as well.
