She is approximately one and a half and just a pleasure to have around. Natalie has a great personality and can just light up the room with her spunkiness and energy. I was surrendered to WCHS because my family could no longer afford my medical care. I'll admit, when I first came in, I was a bit of a hot mess. My bum was naked, my ears were painful and my eye had consistent discharge. I was treated for allergies, a skin infection and an ear infection with many, many medications and ultimately also needed my left eye removed. I'm happy to announce that after a few months at the shelter and in foster care, I am finally able to make my adoption floor debut! While in foster care, I was around countless other dogs of various shapes and sizes. I cohabitate very well but am not really interested in romping around with other dogs. I would be more than happy to be your one and only dog because I absolutely crave attention. My foster mom described me as being gentle, smart and loving. In my previous home, I was respectful of the cats I lived with. I've also done well with children of various ages. If needed, I am comfortable being in a crate, but have done just fine wandering loose inside without having any accidents. For being an Aussie, I am fairly laid back but would still love daily enrichment to keep my mind sharp as a tack. Like many people, I do seem to have allergies so I'll likely need daily medication for the rest of my life. I am very food motivated, though, and take my pill like a champ! Unfortunately, WCHS has noticed that during the times I was back at the shelter for treatments I had a few 1-2 second seizures. This is a new behavior that was not previously seen while in foster. WCHS believes the stress of being in a shelter environment is a trigger so I am back in foster where I am more comfortable. If I sound like the sweetheart for you, call and ask about Zinny!#2

Max is an adorable 10 month old mixed breed male who weighs about 18 pounds and is at his full size. His brother had a DNA test done which revealed he is 47% Miniature American Shepherd, which is another name for Miniature Australian Shepherd. Max's foster says he is such an amazing pup. He lives for toys, doesn't matter what kind, he's loves stealing them and stashing them somewhere, Max is good with kids and other dogs. Max does well in a crate, and is potty trained. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and he comes with his medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies him to be in good condition. Max's adoption fee will contribute to our program of readying additional dogs, puppies and kittens which we prepare, transport and adopt out in the Midwest. Our goal is to get as many homeless animals out of south Texas, where we have a severe pet overpopulation crisis. He is being fostered in Muskego, WI. His adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. Leia is very timid around new people, but her curiosity and desire for treats eventually overcome her fear. Once she feels comfortable with her person, she is very affectionate and loving, and she gives the sweetest hugs and kisses! Leia is most comfortable in the presence of other dogs, so applicants with one or more dogs are strongly preferred. Leia is crate-trained & does very well with going potty outside. She loves to play with toys & enjoys a hearty romp as much as quietly chewing a hard toy. Leia is a mix of herding dogs breeds so her ideal family will include older kids or just adults. She has a moderate energy level & likes to chill in a dog bed with a toy after she's had a good time playing. Leia is starting to feel more confident about walking on a leash, but she is overwhelmed by city sights and sounds and will do best in a quiet neighborhood.
