Bogart is an 18 week old, Australian Shepherd mix. Bogart is a handsome boy that was brought into a shelter as an abandoned puppy. He is an active guy and very smart. It appeared to us almost immediately that he was deaf, although working with him, we have come to realize that he does hear some higher pitched verbal commands when there isn't a lot of background noise. He loves going for walks and is making great strides with his sit command using hand signals. He still has that puppy energy and with the right owner to teach him as he grows, he will be an outstanding dog. He is great with other dogs and with kids. A fenced in yard would be ideal with his hearing loss. Bogart is a sweet and social puppy. He currently weighs 25 pounds. As always, we never guarantee the breed OR the size they'll be as an adult. MY ADOPTION FEE is $450.00 We thank you for ADOPTING A HOOVERS HAUSE RESCUE DOG..... every dog adopted allows us to open our homes to save another! WI DATCP license number 468162June 2, 2023, 8:58 pm

Story
Carly is being fostered in PA. Carly is a joyful and happy pup! You would never know that she is 8 years old. She loves playing fetch and tug of war. She has the cutest wiggle butt when she is excited! She is loyal to her people and just wants to be near them. She walks great on a leash and loves walks in the neighborhood. She is also a great jogging partner! She was quick to learn how to go up and down stairs. She is an energetic girl who needs to be exercised and engaged with daily. She likes to sleep in her bed on the floor beside her human. She gets along well with other dogs but due to issues with food possession, she will need to be fed separately if around other dogs. Carly is a double merle. In addition to being blind, she is also losing her hearing, possibly due to age. Carly tested positive for Lyme's Disease and whipworms since coming to her foster house but has started treatment for both and is already doing better! Although she does not see clearly, she sees better in bright light and can see some shadows and motion. Carly is an indoor dog with the run of the house. She's housebroken and leash trained and would benefit from a fenced in yard. Carly is outgoing and good with people of all ages. She's also good with both male and female dogs and cats. She is the sweetest girl and would make a great addition to any family! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Stevie Wonder is being fostered in NH. Stevie is definitely bigger than his brother and a little fluff ball! His personality is calm and gentle. He likes to be held, cuddled, pet and talked to. When he hears your voice he tilts his head side to side and his little tail wags! He is doing well with potty training. He knows to pee and poop outside but still has accidents in the house. He seems to prefer sleeping in his crate for comfort, but is also fine sleeping and being outside his crate. He enjoys all the snuggles of his foster family's toddler, and seems curious and loving towards his foster family's senior dog. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
About Me: Name: Loki Breed (or best guess): Australian Shepherd (or mix) Approximate Age: 3 yr (possibly older) Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 40 lb (overweight) Adoption Fee: $450 Requirements: Loki is dog selective Why In Rescue: Breeder surrender Profile:  Loki came to us from a breeder who was no longer going to use him for breeding.  We were told he was a Mini Aussie, but that isn't what his size is!  He is a bigger guy but a nice boy.  He is picky about what dogs he likes, and some dogs don't like him.  It can be hard for dogs at the shelter to get along with each other, so he may be more social once he is in a home but if there is already a dog in the home, they should meet before adoption.  He has learned how to go for walks and is pretty good at keeping his kennel clean.  He likely has never lived in a home, so will need to have a patient owner as he figures that out.  He isn't high energy, so doesn't need a super active family, but he could use some walks to help him lose some weight.  If interested in Loki, please fill out the pre-adoption application. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $550 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS June 1, 2023, 8:11 pm

Story
1 year old Neutered male 45 lbs. Medium/high energy level Potty trained Knows "sit" and "paw" Seems to like other dogs Can live with kids of all ages Cannot live with rabbits or other small animals Looking for an active adopter I'm a 1 year old mixed breed boy who may be part Cattle Dog or other herding breed. I am very smart and have an affectionate and playful personality. I have a super sweet disposition and adore being petted and cuddled. I'm also potty trained and very food motivated. I have lots of playful energy so daily exercise is a must for me, and I'm best suited for an active individual or family. I know the commands for "sit" and "paw" and I hope my adopter teaches me more! I love other dogs and enjoy running and playing with them at the dog park. While I do love other dogs, I cannot live with rabbits or other small animals. I'm approved for families with respectful children of all ages and am looking for an adopter who can commit to me for the rest of my life. If you're ready to make me part of your family, I'm ready to be the best dog you'll ever love! NOTE: Mochi loves other dogs but cannot live with rabbits or other small animals.   Check out my video at https://youtube.com/shorts/d3qdg0FMU_g The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.June 3, 2023, 12:40 am

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
2 years old Neutered male Medium/high energy level Sweet and sensitive Potty trained World champion at fetch  Seems to like female dogs Can live with kids of all ages Looking for an active adopter I'm a wonderfully sweet boy who absolutely loves people and affection. I can be shy at first, but once we get acquainted I'll put you on my list of best friends! I am very intelligent, well mannered, and playful. I'm also potty trained and know the commands for sit, down, and paw. I'm a world champion at fetch and will perfectly retrieve a toy and set it at your feet, then patiently wait for you to throw it again. (I love fetch so much that my adopter should probably have a "chuck it"!).  :D  I also enjoy squeaky toys and jolly balls. I seem to like most other female dogs, and I display typical herding breed tendencies in large dog groups (meaning I try to herd everyone together), so I'm better suited for smaller groups of dogs. As a herding breed I have lots of energy and need an active adopter who will give me daily exercise. Walking, hiking, running, whatever your favorite activity may be I'll be thrilled to join you! My past life was not ideal so it would be amazing to live with someone who truly loves and cares about me. I'm approved for gentle and respectful children and will be a fantastic companion for an attentive adopter. If you're looking for a smart, sweet, and fun companion, I'd love to be part of your family! The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Male mixed breed puppy Can go to his forever home after being neutered on May 17 Approximately 8 weeks old, weight 15 lbs. Playful, friendly, active Needs lots of attention Approved for families with respectful children Currently in a foster home so an appointment is required to meet him** I'm a chonky puppy whose mom is a heeler or hound-type mix and dad is a complete mystery. At 8 weeks of age I already weigh 15 pounds, so I could be a big boy when I grow up! I am playful, active, and friendly, and I still have that awesome puppy smell.  :)  I'm approved for respectful children and need an adopter with plenty of time to raise, train, and socialize an energetic pup. Keeping me on a consistent schedule and rewarding me with praise and treats will help with my potty training.  (When do puppies need to be taken outside? After they eat, after they sleep, and after they play!). With a loving and attentive adopter, I can grow up to be an amazing companion and family member!  **NOTE: I am currently in a foster home so an appointment is required to meet me.
