Story
Introducing, Roscoe! Roscoe is about 2 years old and 17 lbs. Sadly, Roscoe came from a hoarding situation where he lived with 40 small dogs. As most hoarding dogs go, Roscoe is good with other dogs but fearful of new people and places. Despite his fears, Roscoe does come around fairly quickly. After only a few days in his foster home he is already following his foster mom around. He likes going on walks and is good on leash. He’s doing well with housebreaking and has been respectful to the resident cats. Roscoe may need some time to gain confidence but once he does he’s going to be a wonderful companion! Interested in learning more about Roscoe? Apply at www.novapetsalive.org/adopt *Roscoe is neutered, up to date on vaccines, was given dewormer and monthly preventatives, and is microchipped.

Story
Meet Sadie   This sweet Beagle girl was found running as a stray in Chester, South Carolina, and taken in by Animal Control. The good Samaritans who found her were worried she might be at risk in an overcrowded shelter, so their daughter, who works at a local veterinary office, reached out to one of our volunteers for help. Luckily, we had the perfect Beagle-loving foster home available. Sadie is now being fostered by Kristy and her husband, Evan, alongside their toddler daughter and a pack of four senior Beagles. She’s settled in well to her foster home and is getting a chance to experience the safe, comfortable life she deserves. Sadie has proven to be a gentle, laidback beagle with a heart full of love and a nose that enjoys exploring the world one sniff at a time. While she's still building her confidence, she has already shown what a wonderful companion she can be. This sweet girl loves naps, belly rubs, head scratches, and just being near her people. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a few treats (she's a big fan of food!) and a little patience, and she'll quickly warm up to you. While Sadie gets along well with other dogs, she isn't particularly interested in playing and would be equally happy as an only dog or with a calm canine companion. She enjoys affection and human companionship more than anything. She has also shown little interest in cats and does not appear to have a strong prey drive. Sadie has a moderate energy level and excellent house manners. She does well in her crate, sleeps quietly through the night, and settles comfortably when her foster family leaves the house. She appears to be mostly housetrained and has had only a few accidents while adjusting to her new routine. Sadie enjoys spending time outdoors sniffing around the yard and does well on a leash, making her a great walking buddy. Sadie has been exposed to a young toddler in her foster home. While the noise and activity can make her a bit nervous, she handles it appropriately by simply moving away when she wants space. Because of her gentle and somewhat shy nature, she would likely thrive in a calmer home environment. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who enjoys the simple things in life, cozy naps, sniffy walks, tasty treats, and plenty of love. Sadie may be the perfect addition to your family.  Apply today! BEED ESTIMATE: Beagle GENDER: Female APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: 18 lbs APPROXIMATE AGE: ~ 2-3 years old COAT TYPE:  short/med coat ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: UTD on shots/spayed/microchipped LOCATION: Herndon, VA   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. Story
Rollie was surrendered after his owner died. He had never lived inside until he came into rescue. He is now house and crate trained. He does love to run and play and hide his bones outside. He had very little socialization with other dogs and is a little dog selective (prefers females more than males). He's more of a loner than most. He has always been crated inside to avoid the mischief a beagle tends to get into with chewing items he isn't supposed to be chewing. It is more for his safety of not swallowing anything harmful. He will bark to let you know when he needs to go potty. He has been completely vetted. He deserves a home of his own to retire in and enjoy the rest of his life. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application.

Story
Located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders. This girl had been adopted then returned as the owners could not keep up with a puppy. Bitsy is energetic, a bit shy at first and a good girl. She is housetrained, does well in a crate, good on a leash and in a car. She will need a few days to feel comfortable as she is confused as to why she is not home. She has done well with kids but will need adjustment with them also. She is curious about new places so can be a flight risk (would recommend an escape proof collar). She is ready for her forever home.
