Story
Rider is a real low-rider. He weighs 47 lbs and has the body of a Bassett or maybe Dachshund. He is super friendly and loves everyone, cats, dogs, adults and kids. He is working on his leash walking and making progress. He is medium energy and likes to trot around the fenced yard with his husky foster sister and doxy foster brother. He is 100% crate-trained and appears to be house trained. He loves his squeaky toys and treats. When not crated he is non-destructive and loves to chill out. His favorite spot is on anyone's lap. What a perfect little guy. Thank you for your interest in Rider! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=18062 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Rider, or to submit an online application. This beautiful boy with the most gorgeous eyes was found as a stray on a country road in rural Georgia. He was in foster with an elderly woman and her Chihuahuas until he came to us. She described him as well-behaved and very sweet. He also got along great with her dogs. Kirby is extremely gentle and good natured and will make a wonderful companion for some lucky family. At his young age, he is in his prime for training and socialization. Please remember that young pups require a lot of time, love, and patience to become the best doggie citizens they can be. Adopt Kirby because every home deserves a touch of his gentle, sweet, and good-natured spirit! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . Story
Stumpy-Bassett Hound/Labrador Retriever (Bassador) male, ~ 1-2 yr. (March 2024) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application to adopt. Stumpy is living in a very rural area with a family that asked for help in finding him a new home. He's used to living a family life with children and loves the children. He would be best as an only dog. He's a mixed dog but a popular mix, called a Bassador. The Bassador temperament can vary a lot depending on whether they take after their Lab or Basset Hound parent more. Generally, they are sociable and loving. We are fortunate to know how Stumpy has done, living with a family. Bassadors love attention, especially from their favorite person. If you want a dog with a very unique look who’s loyal to a fault, the Bassador could be the dog for you! Stumpy's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number for future communication.

Story
Ralphie is a very sweet 2 year old dog ready to go to his forever home! He loves cuddles and gets along great with other dogs. He's still a little skittish so would do well in a home where he can have time to get comfortable and come out of his shell -- when he does, he is a little goofball! He does okay with his foster cat siblings, but would probably need a slow introduction with cats. He is housebroken. Ralphie will bring a lot of joy to his new home! __________________________________________________ This dog's adoption fee is $525. This includes spay/neuter & microchip. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have.
