Story
Bailey is a 10-year old beagle terrier mix who still has plenty of energy and a huge heart. She loves to play, run, snuggle, and do anything outdoors. Hiking, camping, long walks, and especially relaxing on the beach are her idea of a perfect day. When she's not exploring, she's happiest curled up next to her person.Bailey bonds closely with her owner and thrives in a home where someone is around most of the time. She does experience some seperation anxiety, so when left alone, she does best in her kennel with a peanut butter kong and regular daily walks. With the right routine, she settles in nicely. She's very dog-friendly overall, but prefers calmer companions. Nippy puppies and very high-energy large dogs aren't really her vibe. Shed do best with mellow dogs or as the center of attention in a loving home.Bailey is incredibly sweet, loyal, and affectionate.Im rehoming her due to my job. Looking for a family that works from home or are retired. Anyone would be lucky to have her.

Story
Hello, my name is Bailey! I am a 1 year old, spayed female, Beagle/Hound mix who currently weighs about 47 lbs. I am a friendly and bouncy gal who cannot wait to meet you! Looking for a new friend to live life to the fullest with? I'm your gal! I am outgoing and love exploring, sniffing, and running in the yard for fun. I have lots of energy, so I'd be a great new adventure buddy for you; we can go on hikes and check out the beach! :) I'm a smart lady, but still learning my manners, so please be patient and ready to teach me. I'd love to meet you, and any resident dogs, before adoption. Come in to meet me today! Bailey ID# A0984610 I recently went on a field trip with a PHS Volunteer! Here's how I did: Bailey did really well. We went hiking and finished with a short jog. She was friendly and wanted to say hi to everyone and every dog, but also easily redirected as we walked on. She was curious and enjoyed sniffing all the new scents on the trail. She was a good jogging partner. She also enjoyed running in the yard once we were back at the house, but also settled down in the shade after a while. She was sweet, affectionate and likes all the toys (squeaky stuffed animal, rope toy and tennis ball etc.) I hope she finds a home soon!   Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
* To be considered for a meet/adoption, please read the full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an application. * This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, June 20th from 12-3 PM unless adopted prior to the event.   All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.   Adoption fee: $650 Meet the Clue Litter   At a Glance   8 weeks old Raised in a foster home since 2 weeks old Socialized with children ages 8 to 13 Introduced to cats Smart and eager to learn Using a puppy door during the day Learning recall, sit, and basic commands Affectionate and people focused Exposed to household noises and daily family life Expected to mature to a medium size similar to their 22 lb mother Mix of scruffy and smooth, low maintenance coats   ---     Five puppies. Five unique personalities. One incredible start in life.   At just two weeks old, these puppies arrived in foster care with their devoted mother, Clue. Over the following six weeks, they have been raised in a loving family home surrounded by children, visitors, household activity, and plenty of opportunities to learn and grow. Thanks to Clue's patient guidance and the dedication of their foster family, these puppies have developed into confident, affectionate, and well socialized companions who are ready to begin the next chapter of their lives.   The Clue Litter has been raised alongside children ages 8 to 13 and has enjoyed regular interaction with both adults and kids. They have been exposed to everyday household life, including televisions, dishwashers, vacuums, gardeners, visitors, and the normal sights and sounds of a busy home. They have also been introduced to cats and are growing up comfortable around a variety of experiences.   Like their mother, these puppies are exceptionally smart. They are already learning recall, sit, and basic commands and eagerly respond to positive reinforcement. During the day, they use a puppy door to independently go outside for potty breaks and playtime, and at night they consistently use pee pads in their x pen. They are curious, food motivated, and genuinely enjoy learning.   More than anything, these puppies love being with people. Whether they are following the kids around, climbing into laps for cuddles, or eagerly participating in training sessions, they have been raised to see humans as an important and rewarding part of their world.   While each puppy has a unique personality, they all share the same loving foundation. They are affectionate, people oriented, playful, and eager to learn. Based on their current size and build, we expect them to grow into medium sized companions similar to their mother.   If you're looking for a puppy who has had an exceptional start in life and is ready to continue learning, exploring, and loving, one of the Clue puppies may be your perfect match.   ---   Dagger   Dagger has quickly become the favorite of the twelve year old in his foster home, and it's easy to see why. This handsome boy combines confidence, intelligence, and affection into one irresistible package.   A medium sized puppy within the litter, Dagger loves to play with his siblings and join in family activities, but he also appreciates quality cuddle time. In the evenings, you'll often find him curled up on the couch giving kisses and soaking up attention from his favorite people.   Like his mother, Dagger is smart, eager to please, and highly trainable. He isn't the leader of the group, but he's always happy to join whatever adventure is underway. His balanced personality makes him a wonderful combination of playful companion and devoted snuggle buddy.   ---   Candlestick     Don't let her small size fool you. Candlestick may be the runt of the litter, but she has one of the biggest personalities.   This little girl is determined to be included in everything. Whether her siblings are wrestling, exploring, or meeting new people, Candlestick is right there making sure she doesn't miss out. She approaches life with confidence and enthusiasm that far exceeds her size.   Candlestick is incredibly affectionate with both people and her littermates. She loves being part of the action and thrives on connection and companionship. Her spunky personality, loving nature, and endless enthusiasm make her impossible not to adore.   ---   Pistol    Pistol's silky smooth coat perfectly matches her gentle personality.   While some puppies rush headfirst into every activity, Pistol prefers to take a moment to observe the world around her. She is thoughtful, calm, and quietly confident. Often you'll find her sitting nearby, patiently waiting for pets and affection rather than demanding attention.   Pistol is happy to join in playtime with her siblings, but she is equally content exploring independently or simply relaxing and watching the world go by. She loves cuddles, kisses, and spending time with her people. Her steady, sweet nature gives her a maturity that is remarkable for such a young puppy.   ---   Wrench   Wrench has a scruffy coat, an expressive face, and a personality that instantly wins hearts.   This lovable girl learned early that sitting politely often results in being picked up for cuddles, and she has been charming people ever since. Smart and observant like her mother, Wrench quickly picks up on routines and enjoys interacting with everyone around her.   She has a wonderful medium energy level and plays happily with all of her siblings. Whether she's wrestling, exploring, or soaking up affection, Wrench brings a gentle and easygoing spirit to everything she does. It's no surprise she became the foster mom's favorite, and she may just know it.   ---   Lead Pipe    Lead Pipe is the natural leader of the litter.   Confident, social, and endlessly curious, she is often the first to investigate a new toy, explore a new space, or figure out a puppy sized puzzle. She loves learning how things work and approaches life with enthusiasm and determination.   While she may be one of the more active puppies in the group, she is equally devoted to her people. Lead Pipe loves following family members around, staying involved in whatever is happening, and making sure she's included. When playtime is over, she crashes just as enthusiastically as she played.   Smart, affectionate, and full of personality, Lead Pipe is the kind of puppy who turns everyday life into an adventure.   ----   In the game of Clue, the goal is to solve the mystery. Fortunately, there's no mystery here! These puppies are smart, affectionate, well socialized, and ready to become beloved family members. The only question left to solve is which puppy is meant for you.   June 15, 2026, 11:06 pm

Adoption fee: $650 Mama Picnic’s babies are here, and these may just be the mellowest little puppies around. Rescued alongside their mama, a 30ish lb Scottie type mix, after being found abandoned and brought to a shelter, the Picnic pups have spent their earliest weeks safe in foster care, growing into happy, social, playful little explorers. At just 8 weeks old, they’ve already mastered the important things in life: eating enthusiastically, wrestling with siblings, chasing sticks, tripping humans with shoelaces, and collapsing into giant puppy naps together afterward.   These puppies have been raised in a home environment with lots of love, attention, and guidance. They spend their days playing together, cuddling with their people, hanging out with the resident doodle, and learning great puppy habits along the way. They sleep piled together in their x-pen on a giant fluffy dog bed and are already doing impressively well with potty routines for such young pups.   Routine The Picnic pups start their day around 7:00–7:30am, heading straight outside to their designated potty area where they are remarkably consistent for babies their age. Once business is handled, it’s time for zoomies, wrestling matches, and exploring while breakfast is prepared. Meals are served family-style in a communal puppy bowl, with some puppies approaching breakfast more enthusiastically than others. After breakfast, they enjoy supervised outdoor playtime in a secure enclosed area if the weather is nice, followed by a much-needed group nap back in their pen. Lunch is around 1:30–2:00pm, dinner is around 9:00pm, and throughout the day they alternate between play sessions, potty breaks, cuddles, and epic puppy naps. At night, they head out for one last potty break before lights out around 10:00pm, usually ending the day in a sleepy puppy pile together. Bocce (6 lb on May 7th) The only girl of the group, Bocce may be the smallest puppy, but she absolutely carries herself like she runs the household. Confident, fearless, and hilariously opinionated, Bocce is convinced she can boss around dogs ten times her size — and somehow gets away with it because everyone finds her adorable. She’s outgoing, playful, social, and always ready to explore something new. While her brothers are usually happy to cuddle for long stretches, Bocce prefers quick affection breaks before she’s off on another adventure. She’s the most consistent with potty habits, the least shy of the bunch, and definitely the ringleader of the crew. Personality The Picnic pups are social, affectionate, playful little puppies who truly enjoy being around people. They love toys, sticks, leaves, tug games, and especially anything one puppy can steal so the others can chase them around. After every burst of play comes an equally dramatic group nap. They’re adventurous without being wild, cuddly without being clingy, and remarkably mellow for such young puppies. Most of all, they genuinely seem to enjoy simply being together — whether that’s exploring outside, tumbling around in play, or sleeping in one giant puppy pile at the end of the day.   These babies are looking for homes ready for all the fun, training, structure, and lifelong commitment that come with raising a puppy. In return, they’ll provide endless entertainment, affection, and a lot of very tiny paws underfoot. June 15, 2026, 11:06 pm
