Story
Meet Ducky! This beagle/hound mix is about 4 months old, 26 lbs, and still got some growing to do. He's sweet, playful, and an outdoor enthusiast at heart. Give him a yard to sniff around and a toy to chew and he's living his best life. Ducky does great with other dogs and is already making solid progress on housebreaking and crate training. He's got a lot of puppy left in him and a lot of love to give, just looking for the right family to grow up with. Ducky is outgoing and is possibly aspiring to be a goat (he enjoys climbing on chairs to see everything!). Ducky is neutered, microchipped, and-up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. Ready to make Ducky part of your family? Apply today at rescue330.org. Story
Tootie is a cutie patootie! This sweet girl was found as a stray in Morrow County and is 20 lbs at 6 months old. She has a personality and incredible markings that seem consistent with a Beagle and Catahoula Leopard Dog mix. If you have interest in this girl, please know that Catahoula Leopard Dogs are characterized as energetic, independent, loyal, and require extensive physical exercise and mental stimulation. They are best suited for experienced owners with active lifestyles. All of that said, Tootie is super sweet, submissive and gets along well with other dogs. She will also do well with dog savvy cats. Tootie is making great progress with house training, and is still working on crate training. She loves being with her human friends, and sleeps like an angel in her human's bed! Tootie's adoption fee is $250 fully vetted. Save Ohio Strays does not have a shelter. Our dogs are integrated into their foster homes who can tell you all about them to make the transition into your home informative and supportive. Our first step to adopt is always our online application at saveohiostrays.org. Save Ohio Strays does NOT claim or guarantee any breeds given in this description. These are best guess descriptions for breed. SOS NEVER ships pets and will not adopt out to a driving radius greater than 3 hours from Medina, Ohio.

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Ash. I'm somewhere around 8 months- 1 year old. I was found dumped out on the side of the road, along with 6 other beagles. We all had fleas, and some of us had skin and ear infections. We're all a little shy, but we warm up quickly and we're all very sweet once we get a chance to warm up. We all love other dogs and we love to play. We will all require basic training and housebreaking, so we will need patient families. If you're looking for a sweet beagle to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable.
