Story
Hey there! My name is Freckles, I'm a 5 year old beagle and I am looking for my forever home! I love to give kisses and snuggle! I'm trying to learn not to jump but I just love people so much! A typical beagle, I love to investigate ALL the things. My foster mom says I'm smart and curious. I learned my name in only 2 days! I adore my human foster siblings but I've had some disagreements with my doggie foster siblings. We've decided I would probably be best as the only dog in my new home so I can be queen of my castle. I currently live with 4 cats and I don't understand them, so sometimes I chase them and bark to see what they do. If my new home has cats, they would need to be dog savvy and willing to deal with my curiosity. Because I am so curious, I tend to try to dash out the door any chance I get, so I need a home with a fenced in yard and family who will be cautious when leaving without me. I walk pretty good on a leash, unless I find a fun scent and then I forget my manners and tug to follow the smell I find intriguing. I would really love a home with kids because they are my favorites. My foster mom is cool, but I cry when the kids leave for school. I know basic commands and would be willing to take classes to learn new tricks or maybe an agility course. I don't like my crate and I cry and try to break out when I'm stuck in it. I much rather sleep with my human foster sister. She let's me steal the covers and even her pillow. Overall, I pack a lot of personality into my petite body and I would love to be your new furry family member. I tested positive for lymes on intake but I've been treated. I'm UTD on vaccines, spayed, chipped and ready for my forever family! Story
KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 This sweet girl showed up at a home in TN. She was definitely someone’s lost dog, as she is too good of a dog not to have been!  Our rescue partner, Carol, took her to the vet. and she is microchipped and has a spay tattoo. Carol has called, texted, and emailed the previous owner with no response. Cookie has been in a foster home for the past 6 months. She would be a great addition to a family with kids. Her foster mom, Patty said she has taught Cookie sit, stay, drop, leave it and off. Cookie will dig under the fence to follow her nose so she will need to be supervised in a fenced yard. Patty can brush her teeth but she said it takes two people and good treats to trim her nails. Cookie is estimated to be about 4 years old and weighs about 45lbs. She loves everyone but needs to be the only dog because she doesn’t like to share her humans.   Thank you for your interest in rescue. Story
KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 Ayesha was living in a local hoarding situation with her 9 pups. Sadly, one of the pups vanished in trash in the home. Also rescued was the pup’s daddy Max, a Chihuahua Dachshund mix, who has already found his forever home. The dog’s elderly owner was reluctantly moved into an assisted care facility. The adult grandchildren were tasked with emptying out the home of mountains of debris. Ayesha is a great mom and very protective of her pups. She and her 1-week-old pups went into a foster home on New Year’s Day. In her foster home Ayesha was surprisingly a very clean dog. She tended to her puppies around the clock cleaning up after them. She herself is 100% house-trained. Ayesha was very protective of her pups and was aggressive to strangers. Very typical for a good mom to be protective of her babies. It takes her a little while to warm up to new people but once she does, she is very loving and wants to be a lap dog. Ayesha bonds quickly to women, men not so much. She would not be well suited for a busy, loud household. She also has a very high prey drive and will chase down anything smaller that runs and acts like prey. The home she came from had some mice and rats but not very many since Ayesha and Max put an end to most of them. So a pet rabbit, rat etc. in the home would not survive with her.  Thank you for your interest in rescue.
