Story
🐾 Meet Nessa — A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Safe Place 🐾 Nessa is a 7‑month‑old, 15 lb Beagle who was found in Philadelphia and brought to the city’s animal control shelter. When no one came to reclaim her, she joined us in hopes of finding a fresh start and the loving home she deserves. We don’t know what Nessa’s past was like, but it’s clear she hasn’t always felt safe in the world. While she has been sweet, gentle, and cooperative with our volunteers, we also want to be fully honest: When she was first found, Nessa was terrified, cornered, and on the run, and she did bite the finder when they tried to grab her. Given the fear and confusion she was experiencing, her reaction was completely understandable — but it tells us that Nessa needs a calm, experienced, and patient home that will help her learn that life is safe and people can be trusted. Nessa is still discovering that the world can be wonderful. She has allowed gentle handling here and is showing us that with kindness, she warms up beautifully. She is a young dog with so much potential — she just needs the right people to guide her. 🏡 Ideal Home - Adult‑only home (no young children) - Experienced adopters who understand fearful dogs - A calm environment - Someone willing to go slow, build trust, and give her time to blossom With patience and love, Nessa will thrive. She is a sweet little Beagle who wants to feel safe, understood, and cherished — and she’s so ready for her new beginning. If you believe in second chances and want to help a deserving pup learn what love truly feels like, Nessa is waiting for you. She will come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. If you are serious about adoption, please fill out the adoption application on our website www.phoenixanimalrescue.com Her adoption fee is $475. Story
Hello, my name is: LemmyApprox. DOB: 04/09/2025Sex/Breed: Spayed female Beagle Mix Weight: ~35 lbsRescued from: Found strayLemmy is the final member of our little fighters still searching for her happy ending. A good samaritan found this sweet girl, her four siblings, and their mama struggling to survive on the streets. Sadly, the puppies were exposed to the deadly parvovirus, but Lemmy is a resilient survivor who fought her way back to health. Now that her sisters have found their forever families, Lemmy is officially the last one waiting for her turn to go home.Lemmy has the softest, sweetest disposition you could imagine for one who had such a rough beginning. While she can initially be a bit bashful and shy, it only takes a few minutes of kindness and gentle reassurance for her to shift into full-body wiggles, delicate kisses, and wide, happy smiles. If one of her collected stuffy toys is nearby, she may even present you with a gift for your patience!Time spent in a loving foster home has done Lemmy well; she’s house- and crate-trained. She’s cat-friendly and has done well living with other dogs. She especially seems to have a soft spot for kids, perhaps seeing them as kindred spirits and playmates. She’d be more than happy to have a fun romp or game of fetch with some older kiddos and then jump on the couch for some close cuddles and a movie. She’d be an amazing family member!Lemmy deserves to find happiness with a family who will nurture her tender heart. Could it be yours? All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Story
Zoe is a 5 month old beagle chihuahua mix (DOB 8/14/25). Zoe joined the rescue along with her mom, Missy (also available for adoption), when their senior owner was no longer able to care for them. Zoe is adorable and sweet as can be! She is on the shy side and will bark at people she doesn't know but warms up very quickly once she is comfortable. Zoe is in a foster home with a dog, cat, guinea pigs and young kids and does well with all. She does enjoy chasing the cat and while it's all in good fun, she might be too much for a shy/timid kitty. Zoe sleeps in a crate overnight and keeps her crate clean. She barked in the early morning her first few nights but now sleeps through the night without a peep. She will sometimes have an "excited pee" when getting leashed up for her first potty break of the day, but is otherwise doing excellent with house training. Zoe enjoys fetch and being outside and will make a great adventure buddy. Zoe will be spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested and microchipped prior to adoption. We also require all of our puppies to enroll in obedience training with their new family. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you feel you are a good fit for Zoe. Adoption $400.January 29, 2026, 5:31 pm

Story
KENNEL ID #18804 Bridget is a 9-week-old Beagle mix with an adorable face. She’s curious, cuddly, and loves being close to her people.  Bea and Bridget were adopted together by a sweet elderly couple, but caring for two young puppies proved to be more than they could manage. Like many littermates, they compete over food and toys, so we feel they’ll do best adopted separately, where each can shine and bond fully with their new family. Adoption Fee $575 ($100 Refunded with proof of spay) Thank you for your interest in rescue.  If you would like to be considered for  adoption,  please submit an application to adopt.  If you have any questions regarding the adoption process, please email:  rescuedp2024@icloud.com  or ddlu219@yahoo.com   for dog/puppies.    APPLICATIONS TO ADOPT : DOG     CAT     BIRD      REPTILE       SMALL ANIMALS        February 6, 2026, 12:04 am
