Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Almost two years ago, our foster dog Bella found a home with a great family.  Unfortunatley, Bella developed behavior problems and would not get along with the family's other dog.   This forced the family to return Bella to DMPR.  Bella is now looking once again for her forever family. Overall Bella is a great dog with some issues that can be resolved if her new family is committed to taking her to an obedience class.  Bella needs to learn boundaries - when she is given too much freedom, she becomes a high-maintenance diva (or simply put, a brat).  Bella does know some basic obedience commands.  She will sit and come on command.  She also knows when she is doing something wrong - her foster mom will look at her and say in a low voice 'Bel-la' and Bella will stop what she is doing and look at her foster mom and then drop her head low (like she is ashamed she was caught).  However, this is not ideal, as it would be better if Bella didn't do the 'bad' stuff in the first place.  (Bad stuff includes - jumping on the bed, growling at the foster mom's other dogs when there is food out, and jumping on people).  What Bella needs is consistency - she needs to be taught what is the right thing to do, so that she gets to hear lots of 'Yes!  Good girl!'  Bella loves to be with people - she so wants to be a people pleaser.  Her foster mom thinks that positive reinforcement training will go a long way with her.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Story
SPOTZ is a Beagley mix (DNA test pending) who was adopted for an elderly gentleman who has since gone on hospice. Spotz, who was named Bandit at BVSPCA from where he was adopted 2 years ago, was a good companion for his old friend but is ready for a more active lifestyle. Spotz is a great co-pilot and loves his walks. He is working hard at slimming down in his foater home - do you need a walking partner? Spotz is good with other dogs (We were told he had some altercations with the caretaker's bossy Yorky, But he has been fine with the dogs that we have introduced him to). A little tentative at first because he lived a sheltered life but his quick to warm up and getting him out and about is just the doctor ordered! Spotz is neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for Heartworms and is microchipped. Adoption $250. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you are interested in having Spotz join your family! September 9, 2024, 9:13 pm

Story
Charlie is a 3 year old beagle and hound mix . He is Great with children , people and other animals . I honestly would love to keep him but due to me having to move for work purposes. I’m not able to bring him with me due to my new lease. They have a strict no pet policy . I’m looking for a loving and safe home for him , he loves kids and would make a great family dog for a family looking for dog who is mild mannered . The adoption fee is low due to me having to re home him fairly quickly as I’m due in Huston for work in less then a few weeks .

This adventurous little guy is always on the hunt for new smells and fun, but he's also a silly companion who will fill your home with joy and laughter. Bash gets along with other dogs and cats, and is said to be good with kids too. He has already made great strides in his foster home, excelling with house training and basic commands. Though he's a snuggle-bomb who loves a good cuddle, he's also a bit of an explorer. He needs a family who will be patient as he settles into his new environment. Bash's ideal family will have experience with hounds and have an active lifestyle to match his needs. Please help us find this sweet boy the forever home he so desperately deserves!
