Story
Bastion is a sweet, affectionate boy with lots of energy. He does well with cats and gets along great with our 13-year-old female dog. He can be a little skittish around unfamiliar dogs at first, but with patience and proper introductions, he settles in well.Bastion loves to play fetch, run around the yard, chew on bones, and go for walks. He walks well on a leash for the most part, though I use a harness to help with pulling because he gets excited and is always eager to explore. He is an indoor dog and enjoys spending time with his family, but he would thrive in a home with a good-sized, securely fenced yard where he can run, play, and burn off his energy. Bastion would make a wonderful companion for someone who can match his playful spirit and give him the love and exercise he enjoys.

Story
Scout is a full bred Beagle that we purchased as a puppy 4 years ago. He is still a pup at heart, but as loyal as they come! Hang a bell from the door nob and he’ll ring when he needs to potty. He can even open some doors and let himself in, ,but he refuses to close it behind himself. 😂He has quite a loud howl, but only in immediate danger. Like he will NOT let a kidnapper get you, but he will definitely hide from a robber. 👀LIKES------DISLIKES(1.) Eating dinner (or any food) with his ppl----Not being allowed to eat your food (2). Warm baths----Not being allowed to get dirty right after his bath (3.) SNUGGLES!---Being told to get off the bed or couch (4.)Chasing cats---being chased by cats. 💕He is a very loveable dog! We just can't keep him because we just moved from Illinois, so the budget is tight and we are moving to a house where pets are not allowed. I will include the invisible (electric) fence and 2shock collars as well as his 2 leashes for him. Also have a brand new kennel.

Apply today! https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SSAR/Dog Disclaimer: Please note that dogs in a rescue environment may behave differently than they would in a home setting. While we do our best to assess each dogs habits and behaviors, we cannot guarantee that any dog is fully potty trained or will not have accidents after adoption. Changes in environment, routine, stress levels, and transition into a new home can all impact a dogs house-training habits. Patience, consistency, and continued training may be needed as the dog adjusts to their new home. Breed descriptions are provided as a general estimate based on the dog's size, shape, and appearance. Story
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. To see more pictures of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. 9-month-old male Beagle/Chihuahua mix, about 10 pounds. Liberty and Honor were born at the rescue on 5/22/25 to momma Daisy, who was pulled from the Fresno shelter pregnant. Honor is timid at first but quickly becomes your best buddy. He like to be where the people are and will get anxious and vocal when alone. He is good with other dogs but would do fine being an only dog. He is a cuddle bug with adults but has been afraid of children. Not sure how he does with cats. He needs all the things puppies need; potty training, leash walking and further socialization! To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Additional pictures of adoptable dogs can be seen at: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED BY EMAIL ONLY. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at smidgetrescue@hotmail.com or click on the CONTACT link on this page. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BEFORE SENDING. 8632781We get a fair number of incorrect emails and Jamie is not able to contact potential adopters. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
