Story
Welcome Cosmo to CCPAL Rescue. Cosmo is an Aussie/Beagle is our best guess. He is about 8 pounds now and should be medium sized full grown. We think 25-30 full grown. He is very sweet, has good eye contact and has a soft coat and down ears. He is active and the group is vocal but not over the top. A person that does not work all day every day for 5 days a week is the best for a puppy. Someone that can work from home some or has partial days or some days off to spend to help your new puppy acclimate is best. You need time to be with your puppy to socialize them and to finish off their puppy training. Cosmo was very easy to handle taking his photos and he wasn’t afraid of new people and liked being held. He sat on the table with confidence while we worked with him. He is getting daily attention and holding at the Rescue. He is getting his DHPP vaccinations and dewormed. He is good in his play group. He is kenneled in the evening and is learning to go potty on a wee pad. He is currently at the CCPAL Rescue in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video

Story
This dazzling creature in the photo is Odie, whom we serve at the association. Odie asks us to tell you that it is perfectly fine if you want to admire him for a while; he understands that it's hard to resist his charms. His Majesty isn't going to pretend to be ordinary. When the royal astronomer came to read the planets at the monarch's request, he indicated that our King Odie is destined to become more handsome and majestic every day, thanks to having fun with his favorite toys (he hopes you'll buy him one of those that go "quack, quack"), riding in a carriage -hummm…car- (he's willing to behave himself during the ride), and receiving his (large, please!) daily dose of affection. His Majesty has graciously allowed additional photos and videos to be viewed here:https://hope4lapawz.org/wp1/odie-2024010d/Odie, our king, is currently in training to learn how to rule us, and he expects the household that serves him to help him with that. In return, out of his immense generosity, he will bestow upon his loyal subjects—I mean, humans—endless days of happiness, fun, and lots and lots of love. Be patient with him in the meantime, subjects. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

Story
Hi, I am Nugget! I am a smart, confident dog who loves to stay active. Off-leash play with other dogs is my favorite, though I am still learning not to be reactive on-leash. I already know lots of commands and have great manners -- I even wait for the signal before eating. I enjoy running, searching for hidden treats, and playing with toys, bones, and sticks. Car rides to the beach are the best, especially when I can dash through the sand and splash in the waves. I get along with cats and enjoy affection, though I am not a cuddle bug. Could I be your match? This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Angel! Angel is a 9-month-old, 38 lb Beagle/Labrador Retriever mix who is very sweet and playful! This adorable girl is ready to find a forever family that will help her continue growing into the amazing dog she’s meant to be. Angel can be a little shy when she first meets new people or experiences new situations, but with a little patience and encouragement, her fun-loving personality quickly begins to shine. She loves playing with other dogs and gains confidence from having canine companions around her. Because she’s still young and learning about the world, Angel is looking for a home with another friendly, well-adjusted dog who can be her full-time playmate, help show her the ropes, and continue building her confidence. She thrives with canine companionship and would love a buddy to romp around with every day. Angel would do best with an active family that will include her in daily walks, adventures, and plenty of fun outings to keep her well-socialized. As a growing puppy, she’ll also benefit from continued training, structure, and positive guidance to help her become her best dog. Angel is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Animal Information: Veronica is an 8-month-old 23 lb now spayed female scruffy mixed breed who was confiscated at just 6-weeks-old from a property with over forty dogs and held for investigation at County of Hawaii Animal Control. She was well socialized by staff at Animal Control and is social and friendly with people and dogs. Upon release she was immediately at risk due to space. Given her bubbly personality and adoptability, she was pulled to foster 5/29 and tagged for Dog Gone Seattle. She is excellent with other dogs and should have a canine companion in her foster home to ease transition. We will share more information as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Profile: Meet Veronica! This adorable Beagle-Terrier mix is a total crowd-pleaser. She is incredibly friendly, loves making new human friends, and is great with both older kids and other dogs! On top of her winning personality, Veronica is already fully house-broken and crate trained. Veronica is a massive ball-enthusiast who is always ready for a game of fetch. While her hound nose means she is still working on her listening skills when called, her high toy-drive makes her super fun and easy to train. It’s best to keep toys up and away unless you really enjoy picking them all up as she will drag them all out. Lack of access she hasn't been tested with cats yet. If you are looking for a loyal, fun-loving family dog, Veronica is ready for her forever home! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from County of Hawaii Animal Control. She will be transferred via Paws Across Water Hawaii (PAW HI), arriving to foster care on 6/10/2026 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.August 5, 2026, 5:37 pm

Story
Animal Information: Blossom is an estimated 2-year-old 30 lb (could lose a few) now spayed female mixed breed who was confiscated from a property with over forty dogs and held for investigation at County of Hawaii Animal Control. Upon release she was immediately at risk due to space. A staff favorite for her bubbly personality and dog social skills, and no behavior flags, she was pulled to foster 5/29 and tagged for Dog Gone Seattle. She is excellent with other dogs and should have a canine companion in her foster home to ease transition. She was not reactive to chickens but has not been assessed with cats; slow introductions would be required. We anticipate she will need leash and house training (though she is clean in her kennel, pottying in a designated area only) and is likely to be a quick learner due to her eager-to-please temperament. We will share more information as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Profile: Meet Blossom — a friendly, low-rider sweetheart who loves to play with our resident dog and is learning to be a dog. She does well in her crate (may whine briefly but settles quickly) and has high energy—bursts of high-intensity play followed by long restful periods. Blossom is affectionate and eager to learn: she responds well to training.  Ideal home: someone patient and consistent with training, comfortable with dog-dog play, and able to provide a calm routine and gentle boundaries. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. To see more pictures of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. 9-month-old male Beagle/Chihuahua mix, about 10 pounds. Liberty and Honor were born at the rescue on 5/22/25 to momma Daisy, who was pulled from the Fresno shelter pregnant. Honor is timid at first but quickly becomes your best buddy. He like to be where the people are and will get anxious and vocal when alone. He is good with other dogs but would do fine being an only dog. He is a cuddle bug with adults but has been afraid of children. Not sure how he does with cats. He needs all the things puppies need; potty training, leash walking and further socialization! To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Additional pictures of adoptable dogs can be seen at: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED BY EMAIL ONLY. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at smidgetrescue@hotmail.com or click on the CONTACT link on this page. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BEFORE SENDING. 8632781We get a fair number of incorrect emails and Jamie is not able to contact potential adopters. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
