Story
Hello!I'm Coco. I am a big puppy who loves to play with other dogs of all sizes. I'm super submissive - so even the little dogs get to boss me around. I just want to be friends with everyone. I've not seen a lot of cats - so I'm not sure if we would get along. I'm still learning my manners - like how not to jump on my foster mom when I'm so excited to see her. She is teaching me to walk better on a leash, to sit for my food, and to sit before we go through doors. It's hard because I get so excited to go for walks, to the beach, and to play with my friends -- but I know with practice I'll get it.I don't bark a lot - but I do try to tell my foster mom all about my playmates in doggy day care when we are driving home. I bark when people come to the door but mostly because I like meeting new people to see if they would like to play with me.I'm learning how to ride in the car without getting sick. The main thing is no treats for me before a car ride. A light meal is okay - a few hours before. I have actually improved a lot so maybe I'll get over it.Because I am so sociable, I do great in doggy day care and I do great with other dogs especially if they like to play. So if you think you might like to adopt me, please click on the Apply to Adopt button and let's get things started.Love,Coco To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. Story
My name is Mina, and I'm a 7-year-old female Beagle with a heart full of excitement and energy. Despite my age, I'm as lively as a puppy, always ready for adventures and fun times together. I've got a little story to share with you – once I even managed to jump over a fence that was taller than 2 meters! I'm quite sociable, adoring the company of people and other furry pals. However, I must confess that occasionally, when I'm in a certain mood, I've been known to nibble at strangers. But rest assured, I'm diligently refining my manners and learning to channel my exuberance appropriately. Going for walks is an absolute thrill for me because there's just so much to sniff and explore out there. I possess a less-than-ideal tendency to chase after cats, a behavior I'm trying to overcome since I haven't had much experience with them. Let's talk about food – I'm not ashamed to admit that I have a fondness for it, perhaps even a touch of greediness. I can be a bit possessive about treats, wanting to keep them all to myself whether they come from a person or other dogs. If you're ready for some outdoor adventures and exciting playtime, I'm here to steal your heart. With a little exercise and lots of love, I'm confident we'll become the best of companions. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIsLTtIpe3JzXPImJJO1RNukQuX3EuoUj

Story
Meet Mollie! 🐶💕She was rescued from a Mass Dog Slaughterhouse with other 101 friends at the end of July. Mollie may need help to learn how to behave in a home environment. At first, Mollie did not know how to eat treats. She now even chews a lubber mat in the bottom of her cage. 😊 She always lays her head on the top of her feeding bowl and patiently waits for her kibble. Do you know how cute Mollie is when she peeks out from her cage to see the outside world? It is her signature pose! 🐶❣️ Even though Mollie is energetic, she was so scared when she first stepped out from her cage. She even had to be carried from her first walk since she was frozen during her walk. But now? She eagerly waits for her walking time with a volunteer and explores the nature. If she senses that the volunteer is exhausted, she takes a break from walking and waits for the volunteer to be re-energized. How sweet our Mollie is! 🐕 With a black magic cape she is wearing, Mollie would steal your heart right away. She is ready for any and all adventures ahead of her. Can you be the lucky one who can continue a life journey with this precious girl?🙏

Story
NAME: Jenny Slate AGE/GENDER: Baby (born 6/2/2022), Female BREED: Beagle mix TEMPERAMENT: Shy, nervous, affectionate WEIGHT: 20 pounds HOUSE TRAINING: Good. CRATE TRAINING: Good. She sleeps and eats in a crate. OTHER DOGS: She loves other dogs, especially her size, although she is used to all ages and sizes. CATS: Fixates a little on cats, so probably best without. CHILDREN: No children. She was previously mistreated by children and is fearful of them. ADOPTION DONATION: $600.00  HEALTH: Jenny Slate is healthy! Prior to adoption, puppies will be altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Puppies are given vaccination boosters in our care; however, adoptive families will be responsible for the remaining vaccinations that puppies need. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs.  HISTORY: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find her a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do! NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Jenny Slate is a sweet girl who will need someone who can build her trust and help her heal from her early days where she was mistreated. She is terrified to be on a leash. And will not go through a doorway if a person is standing by the door. She's shown what a loving little girl she is in her new foster home, but will need continued work and love.   She loves other dogs and to help her trust the people in the home, she will need another dog in the home to help her show her the way. Once she trusts you, she is quite affectionate. She loves pets and will give you kisses. She is not sure yet about being held and walks on a leash are still being worked on. It will be some time before she is able to go for walks. She is more of a homebody and quite happy to run and play in the yard with her dog friends. The  yard must be secure as she will need supervision as she does like to dig.   Jenny is a puppy so she's playful and has a lot of puppy energy! She is super cute and fun, but a lot of work. Her forever family should be committed to lots of training - obedience, housetraining, and socialization. This will ensure that she grows into a confident, well behaved adult! Puppies' personalities are dependent on their environment, and the structure and training they are given, in addition to socialization. Their personalities continue to grow and be shaped by their new adoptive families. Puppy daycare and socialization classes or puppy kindergarten are highly recommended for their personal development. She will more than reward you for all your hard work with lots of love, loyalty, and laughs.   All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.   Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet!   For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.   Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!   Woof,   The Motley Zoo CrewSeptember 30, 2023, 10:52 pm

Knows the commands, sit,lay down, spin, speak,Hakuna Matata (roll over), left, right (shake),bon appetit (release command to eat),wait, heal, come, inside (to go into his crate),find it where's your ball, drop it. I'm sure there more but those are the basics. The cons: He has separation anxiety. Not tear your house or furniture up but he'll bark for quite a while when you leave. He is crate trained though. And he's not very good in the car he'll bark the entire time, he doesn't run around in the car or anything like that he just barks and yips. I think it's because he's just too excited to ride. Other than that he's a great dog, very smart and eager to learn new things.

Story
Introducing Gambit - the name's not just a coincidence; it's a testament to my ability to shape my destiny. Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a dash of X-Men flair and you're ready to give me the chance I deserve, let's make it happen. I can't wait to meet you and start this exciting new chapter together! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Hi, I am Lucy,Thank you so much for checking out my profile. I have been waiting a long time for my forever family. I hope you like what you see.I am very affectionate with my foster and love it when we can cuddle together. I like to be with other dogs after we are properly introduced, and I don’t mind cats and if they are respectful, I will respect their space too.People are good, but sometimes I am suspicious of strangers, and I might growl until I know they are ok. I get along well with children too. I am not a barker, but I will occasionally offer a little howl if the mood strikes me.Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, going to the beach (but not in the water), and going on long walks with my family. I don’t much like the leash, but I am getting used to it now. I like to be close, so I just walk right beside my foster even when I don’t have a leash. If it sounds like I could be part of your family just fill in the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.Lots of love to give,Lucy To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo. Story
🐾 Meet Oscar, the lovable 1 and a half year old Basset Hound on the lookout for his forever home! Oscar is a true socialite, with a heart as big as his ears. He’s an animal enthusiast, always eager to make new friends. He is used to cats, dogs, poultry, pigs, and horses. Whether it’s playtime with kids, joining in with other pups, or showering affection on people, Oscar’s joy knows no bounds. Oscar already has a good grasp of basic commands both on and off leash, but he’s hoping to fine-tune his off-leash recall skills with a bit more practice. He’s a smart boy who knows “sit,” “down,” and “here.” And when it comes to adventure, he’s your go-to companion, especially if it involves a fun ride in a golf cart. This charming Basset Hound is a peacekeeper in the animal kingdom, getting along famously with cats and other friendly dogs. Just keep in mind that Oscar has a chatty side and might express himself vocally from time to time. He’s also working on his jumping habit, but with some training and patience, he’s sure to improve. If you’re searching for a social, playful, and affectionate four-legged friend, Oscar could be the perfect match for your family. Don’t miss your chance to adopt this endearing Basset Hound with a heart of gold! 🐶❤️ **Oscar is neutered and ready for adoption. He is vaccinated, microchipped and doing very well in his foster home. If you are out of state and he requires transport then his adoption fee is $600. He is ready to find his family to complete his transformation. If our sweet boy sounds like a perfect match for your family, please email us at pawhuggers@gmail.com for more information or to complete an adoption application please go to www.pawhuggers.org, hover over the Adoptables tab and then click on Adoption Application.
