Story
Rocky is a one-year-old, 52 Ib. bundle of love with an incredible mix of breeds (English Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog, American Staffordshire Terrier) that make him truly one-of-a-kind! With his soft white coat, expressive eyes, and playful energy, Rocky is sure to steal your heart. This sweet boy was found roaming the streets of Texas before being rescued, and he's now safe in a foster home in Connecticut where he has been since March of 2024. We don't know much about Rocky's past, but he is shy and cautious when meeting new people. However, once he feels comfortable, his sweet and affectionate side shines through. He adores belly rubs, cuddles, and will happily offer you kisses when he's ready. He loves to chew on bones and will come running from any room in the house for a piece of ice when he hears the freezer door open. Rocky just needs time and patience to build trust, so he'd do best with an experienced dog owner. Rocky is currently living with multiple dogs in his foster home and gets along well with them. If there are other dogs in the home, they should be calmer and submissive. He is not good with cats. Rocky is more comfortable around women and would do best in a calm, quiet home with teens and up. This smart boy is both house/crate trained and highly food-motivated, making him a great candidate for further training. His adoption fee is $400 and he is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. If you are interested in Rocky, please complete our online application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. If you have any questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
This handsome boy is Dusty. He is a 2-year-old heeler mix and weighs 50 lb. He has the most adorable face and expressive eyes! Dusty is very loving and sweet. He walks easily on a leash, and loves to flop into your lap for some hugs! Dusty was in a foster home in Georgia before coming to DAWS. His foster reports that Dusty is housetrained and gentle around kids. He is fine with other dogs when out on walks or playing together but Dusty would be best in the home as the only dog and he needs a cat-free home. Dusty is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and healthy. His adoption fee is $400. If you would like to meet/adopt Dusty, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms or stop by our shelter. We are open 10 AM to 4 PM seven days a week. The DAWS shelter address is 147 Grassy Plain St. Bethel. Email daws@daws.org with questions or if you wish to schedule an after-hours appointment. Dusty can't wait to meet you!

Story
Ms Lulu is quite the character! She is happy and funny and Loves to run and run. When she stops, she stops! She took over the house and yard the first day protecting and keeping all threats away from the fence. She is a snuggler and will sit on the couch and sleep in the big person bed or an open crate. She does prowl and protect through the night. She is house trained and uses a doggy door. Lulu is okay with small dogs but maybe no dog under 20lbs until proper intros are made - otherwise male or female dogs are fine. No idea about cats. She is a cattle dog and seems as if she may have been trained to herd beyond what comes natural? She got out of the gate once and was fine with the goat and chickens. Cattle and horses would be safe. She is an active working dog who would love an active lifestyle if you can provide it. She loves the water too. She will herd children by nipping on their heels so maybe a bit older children who understand that's just what her breed does and won't cry. She does pretty well on a leash, rides in the car like a pro, loves puppies because she was a mom a time or two. Her tongue hangs out and her jaw is a bit off (maybe birth defect or an injury) but it does not affect her appetite! She is spayed, HW negative and up to date on shots. Lulu is a really sweet dog and wants a home of her own. please apply at www.krrtx.org/forms Please note Lulu is in San Antonio, TX and is available to be transported to your location with Your TX Rescue Connection transport. The fee includes adoption and transportation fee.
