Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact alhargarten@gmail.com for more information about this pet.Meet Mongo!! Border Collie/Australian Shepherd Mix — Male, 2 Years Old Mongo is a beautiful red-and-white Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix weighing about 55 pounds. He was found roaming in Batesville, Indiana and picked up as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past. What we do know is that he’s social, affectionate, and eager to connect with both people and animals. Mongo is very interested in other dogs and cats and has not shown any aggression toward them. He is friendly with new people, adults, and children, and he loves attention. Because he doesn’t always realize his size and is prone to jumping up on people, he will need continued work on manners. For now, he may be best suited to families without very young children or older/frail individuals who could be knocked over. His energy level is moderate-high, but he still benefits from regular exercise and structure. He enjoys walks, is good on a leash, and does best with several outings a day to run off some energy. Mongo is crate trained, still learning his house manners, and shows a lot of potential as he continues adjusting to home life. He is being fostered in Westville, Indiana.  Please contact alhargarten@gmail.com if you have questions about Mongo.      *** The potential adopter will get a refund on the Application Fee if it’s determined by the Foster Parent that the foster dog is not a good match for the applicant and we do not process their application. About 1 year old • Plymouth, IN Toby is an adorable young Border Collie mix with a heart full of love and a toy box full of favorites! This boy lives for toys — toss one, squeak one, crinkle one, and he’s instantly your biggest fan. He rides beautifully in the car, enjoys daycare, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He’ll happily chase the foster’s cat for fun, but he’s never shown any intent to harm. Toby can get overwhelmed in new environments and is suspicious of strangers at first — but once he feels safe, he becomes incredibly affectionate, silly, and totally himself. In places he knows, he’s a very normal, happy, fun dog. Toby’s Highlights LOVES toys — seriously, they’re his love language Great with other dogs Rides well in the car Cat-curious but harmless Very affectionate once comfortable Enjoys daycare and is social there Needs time and patience in new environments If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive, toy-loving boy who will adore you once he trusts you, Toby might just be your perfect match.   Fostered in Plymouth, IN   Please contact stephodellbc@hotmail.com if you have any questions about Toby.  You can complete an application to adopt Toby or any of the dogs on our website at www.comebyebcrescue.org .    ***  The potential adopter will get a refund on the Application Fee if it’s determined by the Foster Parent that it’s not a good match for the dog and the dog for them, if we do not process their application.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 11, 2026, 11:55 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jesse, a young Border Collie about 2 years old, is up for adoption through the Midwest Border Collie Rescue in northern Illinois.  Jesse is a terrific boy who hasn't gotten the attention he should because he is a bi-color smooth-coat BC, which may seem unusual to some.  (However, smoothies are the best when it comes to coat maintainence, you should know!) Jesse is being fostered in northern Illinois and MWBCR says that he is truly a gem of a dog:  loyal, smart, loves to learn, gets along with all other dogs, not over-the-top in energy level, and with great house manners.  He's very treat and ball-motivated, which would seem to make him an excellent candidate for dog sports.   If you're interested in meeting or learning more about Jesse, please reach out to Midwest Border Collie Rescue about him. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Riccwat@aol.com for more information about this pet.Meet Danny!! Danny is a 10-month-old male dog who is currently in a foster home and working on basic skills. He is getting better at fetch and dropping the ball. He is also practicing “sit” and “wait.” Danny goes on multiple walks a day and currently uses an Easy Walk harness while he continues to work on leash manners. He is intelligent, eager to please, playful, goofy, affectionate, even-tempered, a bit skittish, and housetrained. Danny has playful puppy energy and would likely enjoy having a dog buddy who can help give him more activity. In his foster home, he plays with an older doodle and can be redirected when play gets too intense. He benefits from activity, structure, and continued training. A very active senior could handle Danny as long as they are prepared for his energy and ongoing training needs. Danny can be cautious when meeting new people. In foster care, he approached a woman and wanted to be petted, but he was not ready to make contact with a man. He has not met children or cats yet. Because Danny can be enthusiastic during play, a home with medium or larger dog friends may be the best fit. The foster reports that he is not as good with their 13-pound dog because he does not yet understand that he cannot play full out with smaller animals. The foster also notes that he is intelligent and may figure this out with time, training, and supervision. Danny does well in his kennel overall. He may bark at first when left alone, but he settles down and has not been destructive. Toys and enrichment help keep him occupied. He is not afraid of water and jumps right into the wading pool. He sees geese and deer daily and still usually barks at them; he is getting acclimated, but if he is out on a walk, he wants to chase. Danny would benefit from an adopter who can continue working with him on training, exercise, and manners. We are still getting to know Danny so stay tuned for updates!! He is being fostered in Springfield, IL. Please contact riccwat@aol.com if you have questions about Danny.       *** The potential adopter will get a refund on the Application Fee if it’s determined by the Foster Parent that the foster dog is not a good match for the applicant and we do not process their application.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 11, 2026, 11:55 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. The Center for Animal Rescue and Enrichment (CARE) of St Louis MO is seeking a forever home for Nancy Drew, a young BC mix who has been in their shelter since last September when she was picked up stray in the St Louis area. Nancy is a sweet young dog who is in need of a home where dog behavior is understood and she can receive the training she needs.  Her puppy behaviors of jumping and barking can be managed and the sooner she is adopted and out of the shelter, the sooner that positive training can begin, which will allow Nancy to be the friendly youngster that the shelter workers know. Because of her shelter environment, some things are not known about Nancy:  how she rides in a car, how she behaves around children, etc.  However, her overall personality is that of a dog who wants to learn things and be with people.   If you want to know more about Nancy Drew or make an appointment to meet her, please contact CARE St Louis at adopt@icarestl.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 11, 2026, 11:55 am
