Story
This handsome boy is Ryker, a two-year-old border collie/black lab mix looking for a family to call his own. Ryker is medium-sized at 48 pounds and super affectionate. He loves being close to his people, is great at giving kisses, and will happily join you on the couch to snuggle! Ryker gets along great with other dogs and is wonderful with the older children in his foster home. He is crate-trained and likes his kennel as a place to retreat. He will sleep happily in his crate or in bed with you. Ryker wants to please and listens carefully when you talk to him. He is intelligent and takes direction; he has already mastered "Sit." He does great on car rides and is doing well learning how to walk on a leash. Ryker is energetic and will need a yard to run in and will enjoy daily walks. While he would enjoy having a doggie companion to play with, he will also be happy as an only dog. To fill out an application for Ryker, visit istodaymydayrescue.org. His adoption fee is $175 thanks to a generous donation from our "angel" sponsor.

Story
Truly is a truly special dog! He is a 7 year old Border Collie, about 55-60 lbs.   He is crate trained, potty trained, and loves to be petted! Truly is a bit timid in new situations so he will need a quieter house or a place where he can relax when he gets overwhelmed. Right now he uses his crate as his safe place.   He does very well with routine which helps boost his confidence when he knows what to expect. He is not fully comfortable when out taking walks so a house with a fenced yard is his ideal fit. He LOVES to play fetch and is good with other dogs, but prefers hanging out next to his human.   Everyone who meets Truly falls in love with this sweet boy instantly!  If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Truly’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. This work can be physical like agility exercise and/or mental working with puzzle toys and working out details with herding exercises. She bonds very closely with her chosen person and can be weary of strangers. Ruby would do best with a fenced in yard. Ruby is four years old and weighs 57 pounds. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in setting up a meet and greet, please stop by during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended, but not necessary. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Wilson is a cutie and smart as a whip. He is very food motivated which makes training easy. He is reliably housebroken too. He is terrific with shake, sit, and down. We are using his mealtimes to work his mind with puzzle feeders, games of hide and seek and learning new skills. Having a dog who is larger than Wilson is ideal for him as he enjoys rough and tumble play and needs an appropriate outlet for his mouthing behaviors. He is a high energy dog who would benefit from a secure off-leash place to exercise. Wilson can also chill really well in the evenings and he enjoys quiet time on the couch in the evenings with people. Recently, Wilson landed a spot on the human's bed, which he shares well with another dog. He has been perfect and not bothered anyone or anything overnight! If you are interested in a super terrific dog, please schedule a time to meet Wilson. We do know from a brief stay in a home that he cannot live in an apartment; he was very barky at all the sounds in the building. Wilson is 11 months old and weighs 45 pounds.Location: Foster homeThe adoption fee for dogs 7 months and over is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in setting up a meet and greet, please complete an application on our website. Dogs are frequently in foster homes, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. www.helpingstrays.org
