Story
Before several weeks ago, the inside of a house was like a foreign land to Willow Ivy. She didn’t know what household objects were, nor what it even meant to be inside with people. 🌎 🌎 Now, our pretty girl has experienced the good life, where she’s never too cold (or too hot), food and water are in plentiful supply, and the beds are oh-so-comfy. She has also finally imprinted with some people and is getting the hang of the idea that people are there to help her and support her. Welcome to the rest of your life, Willow Ivy! 🌎 🌎 Willow Ivy has also discovered that there’s an outdoor world beyond the confines of a pen. She loves to go on car rides and look out the window. And she totally enjoys walks along quiet neighborhood trails or parks. It has taken her a while to reach this point, and likely when she’s adopted, she’ll need time and space to arrive here again, with her furever people. What we know for sure is that she is smart and really darn sweet. She is desperate to please her people, as she balances that with learning that the world doesn’t have to be a scary place. Toys are new to her, but those squeaky ones and puzzles are pretty fun – and getting a treat from inside of a Kong is tasty and happy! She will need time, like possibly weeks, to warm up to the people in her life, but it will happen in a quiet home. She gets along with other dogs, but she still hasn’t consistently grasped how to handle her dog relationships alongside her people relationships. So, she would do best in a home with a very laid-back dog(s) who she won’t feel like she’s competing with. Or a life as an only dog would be just as well. 🐾❤️ Willow Ivy is 3 years old, and she’s a 30-pound Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog mix. She is house trained and crate trained. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $175. Apply to adopt her, and bring your patience, and you’ll get to meet this little gem, by filling out the application at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
Riley was adopted locally in 2017. She had always been the sweetest pup that loves to constantly lean in close for unending pets. As our family has grown she has been there every step of the way, becoming our child’s best friend. Unfortunately, since moving into our current home Riley has suffered from allergies that have given her constant pain. She has also recently, according to a Vet, suffered an injury equivalent to an ACL tear in her back right leg. Lastly, due to a botched spay from when she was a puppy she now has trouble with urinating in our home. She is house trained but because of her age and inability to control her bladder she has frequent accidents in the home. The need to re-home Riley does not come easy but due to our current financial situation we cannot provide her with the care she needs and deserves. We are looking for someone to love her the same way we do and provide her with the proper care. We hope she can live her remaining years pain free and with love.

Story
Approx. DOB: 3/15/25                 Approx Weight: 35pds Adoption Fee:      includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Jimmy looks to be Border collie and Heeler mix but he could also have some Pointer also. It's all a guess. Jimmy is a really well behaved young boy. You might expect to find these breeds of dogs with a lot of boundless energy but he is a very neutral kind of boy. Loves to play with all sizes of dogs and loves to be around people without wanting to jump up on anyone. Jimmy is such a great size of dog. He would be great for most any family. He is a well behaved fella in the home. At the moment we don't know if he is housebroken because we are lacking on foster homes so he is staying in our small boarding facility. He keeps his area clean so hopefully that's a good sign. He has been neutered crated a couple of times and did great.     Jimmy is a really quiet boy. We have only heard him bark when a stranger approached. When other dogs are barking at everything in sight he just stays observant without the ruckus.  He has walked well on a leash for us and never tries to jump up on us. He keeps all 4 feet grounded. Fill out that app today to meet this gorgeous boy.    I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! COURTESY LISTINGCOURTESY LISTINGPlease see below for contact information. Maizy is a sweet 3 1/2 year old Border Collie mix (approx. 50 lbs.) who is looking for a family that can keep up with her high energy.  She would do best in a home with no cats or small dogs.  Maizy is still working on manners so a home with children over the age of 12 years would be best.  Adoption fee: $200 Please email angelsleftbehind@yahoo.com or call Paula at 816-805-9367 if you interested in meeting Maizy. Story
Chili is 2 years old. Her Embark DNA swab is pending. I don't believe she had lived inside prior to coming to rescue. Along with that, she didn't know what a kennel was, wasn't potty trained, and didn't know how to interact appropriately with dogs. She did come LOVING humans.   Chili didn't get along with her first fosters dogs, so she came to us since we can separate temporarily. Here's the thing, she hated segregation. She wanted to be with the other dogs and didn't have the typical dog aggressive attitude I've dealt with before. So we started working. Muzzle training was first. Thankfully she was already fabulous on a leash. She has also figured out relaxing and down time.   Then we started playing one on one with the other dogs with a muzzle on and leashed so when she got overstimulated we could separate. The thing is she was so excited to be around the other dogs she would get so excited for the muzzle! Gradually we did more and more. Now she is integrated with everyone, but she does have guarding behaviors, so we are working on "making good decisions."   She was not potty trained so we have used potty pads by the door which she figured out right away. Gradually she has figured out potty training. She uses the door bell or barks at night if she needs to go out. She still doesn't like the kennel, so we have a heavy duty kennel that she's in during the day when I am out of the house. She's gradually getting more used to it, but will still avoid coming inside if she knows she is going in the kennel. Chili would do fine as an only dog with walks, or with experienced dog parents who are willing to slowly integrate (she took a full month to feel comfortable here). Fostering to adopt is absolutely an option! If you have any questions please reach out! To apply online please visit k911foundation.com/adopt February 15, 2026, 8:51 am

Story
Charli is a 2 year old herding mix and weighs about 50 lbs. She loves her people, although she is a little nervous around new people she warms up with some treats and chin scratches! Charli has been great with other dogs of varying play styles and would love another dog in the home. Although we don't know a lot about Charli, we know she came from a home with other dogs and had to have had a human who loved her very much. She has some separation anxiety, so needs a kennel and is on a daily medication to help when her foster mom leaves the house. She is potty trained!December 30, 2025, 2:28 pm
