Story
Freckles is a 9 year old Border Collie mix who loves going for a walk, shaking hands for a treat, and lounging in her dog bed. She does not mind her crate and is completely house trained and up to date on vaccines. Her human mom died and Freckles along with her other dog friends and 2 cats were sent to a shelter. She lived there for a month, but now is with a foster. She does well with older kids and dogs in her current foster home. Freckles is timid at first, but once she realizes you will love her and care for her then she will never leave your side. She loves hand kisses and pets! To learn more about Freckles or to find out how to meet her, please contact Abby, her foster mom, by texting 662.404.0553, emailing abbybradley0911@gmail.com or or complete an application: www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAUS/Dog

Story
This is Gus, we rescued him from a farm and it was one of the best decisions. He is such a sweet, loving, loyal cuddly dog. He loves kids and was the best companion during my pregnancy. He gets along w other dogs (preferably meet in a mutual territory first) Gus is very energetic and loving. We have 2 children under the age of 2. Unfortunately we have our hands so full and we just can’t give him the life he deserves. Although he has never been on an actual farm, he would be the best herding dog (he never loses his energy) He is great with the kids and our kids love him and laugh hysterically when he’s around. He’s a goofy guy and loves to play frisbee and catch. He is such a big part of our family and this is difficult for us but we know he would have a better life and thrive with more space and love.

Story
Meet Finley! Fin is a 2 year old border collie mix. He has a LOT of energy, and would do best in an active home. He loves his walks, and playing. He's good with other large dogs. Due to his energy, he would do best in an adult only home. Finley needs a firm handler, someone who is patient and will use positive reinforcement to reward good behavior. He was never shown how to act as a puppy, and still has a lot of puppy tendencies. He is house and kennel trained, but lacks manners that he is working on. Story
Marley is a great dog. She is extremely well-behaved and loves to be loved. She does get a little crazy when she gets a lot of love but she calms down pretty quickly. She responds well to treats and has not had an accident in the house since being a puppy. One of the best dogs for anyone looking for a best friend and space to run in the backyard. She is very sweet and needs someone who will love to give belly rubs. She does bark (of course, she’s a dog after all and that’s how they talk) but it’s just because she likes to stay hi.

Story
Cap'n is a unique and beautiful boy looking for an active family. He was born in our care and adopted 4 years prior. His owner tragically died and he came back to our program for a second chance at happiness. He is about 70lbs and wicked smart. He is potty trained, crate trained, and does great on a leash and in the car. True to his breed he likes to be active and likes to learn things but is also down for a good snuggle. He would be a great running buddy or a great fit for an active person. He does seem to bond particularly close to men and would do best with a male owner in the home. Due to his size and energy we recommend his home have a yard, no small children, and no cats. Cap'n had completed a 2 week board and train program with Midas Touch dog training. True to his breed he can be protective in meeting new people and James his trainer can give specific instructions on how to do this to set Cap'n's family up for success. He can also have a tendency to "herd" the other dogs in his home. This is a common breed trait in cattle dogs. He would do best as an only dog or with another male dog. His trainer James will discuss these instructions in full detail with any interested families and continue to provide training support for Cap'n ongoing at no cost to his adopter! If you are interested in meeting Cap'n, please fill out an application via our website at https://therescueproject.net/adoption-application and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Cap'n's adoption fee is $200 and includes age appropriate vaccines, neuter, microchip, deworm, heartworm testing.

Story
Meet our courageous and resilient 4-year-old Australian Shepherd, Nova. She's a survivor, having spent her early years as a puppy mill mom, enduring hardships that no dog should ever face. Despite her challenging past, this sweet girl doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She's a testament to the indomitable spirit of dogs, as she's incredibly gentle. Unfortunately, her past has left her with a deep fear of humans, but with patience and understanding, she's slowly learning to trust again. She does not initiate affection, however she will let you pet Her whenever! She is good with other dogs and is potty trained. We are hoping to send her to a home where she can get the attention and training she deserves, because under all that fear of humans, there is a wonderful dog. Please contact Janet at librajh62@kc.rr.com for more information.

Story
WE NEED YOUR HELP! We have to be out of our home tonight, and need a home for Chico! He is the youngest of our family! He is well adapted to other dogs(regularly lives with three others), cats and kids (ranging from infants to teens). He loves walks and places to run. He especially loves to herd other dogs and kiddos around the backyard. He is loving and cuddly and loyal and LOVES to be snuggled! He takes a pill with each meal to keep him from having seizures (a common AS trait) He's not had a seizure since being on meds (two full years) and missing a dose here or there does not cause problems. He is current on his vaccines and is desperately in need of a home with a backyard:) We are having to downsize our home and are not allowed to have him in our new apartment. We have run out of time and are desperate for help:( This will be very hard and we would love to stay in touch with pics and updates if you feel like sharing!! We have 3 months of medication, a kennel, and his dogfood ready!
