Phantom is a sweet lovable dog but very high energy! He got along very well with my other male and got attached to him. Unfortunately, we just don’t have the time to keep him busy like we’d like too as we both work very long hours. He is very treat motivated and learned the commands sit, lay down, and paw fairly quick. He is catching on to learning stay. We also have 2 cats in our house and at first he wasn’t sure about them but after some correction he gets along very well with my cats and tends to leave them alone. He loves going to daycare to let off steam and going to dog parks to run his laps. He is honestly very sweet and wants to please so he’d be perfect for someone willing to take the time to train him.

Hi friends! My name is Willy. I'm a border collie mix of sorts and quite handsome if I do say so myself. I'm a bit of a special dog, a real shy guy, but if someone would just give me a chance I will make a great companion. I love other dogs, as long as they're friendly, and I absolutely must go to a home with another friendly dog or two to show me I'm in a safe place. We all need some reassurance sometimes, right? I also need a fenced yard. Whoever my new owner is will need to be able to give me lots of time and space to feel comfortable with them. I'm a really good boy, I'm crate trained and house broken, but until I get used to you I'm gonna need you to keep your paws to yourself. Oliver, our guest in board and train here at the Sanctuary, arrived just a few days ago. He's an adorable boy, and we're taking a few days to get to know him. Sadly, Oliver has gone through some traumatic events recently. His owner died suddenly and unexpectedly at a park with Oliver by his side; Oliver was left there and had to be retrieved later. Oliver was his owner’s whole world, and the family is now working with the Manhattan shelter to help find him an appropriate placement and new home. He is now with The Pet Connection, so he can decompress and get consistent handling. We know that Oliver is a sweet, gentle boy who loves his people. He enjoys taking walks and is reportedly good on leash. He would do best in a calm, adult home with no cats and no puppies. We also know that Oliver is part gazelle and can jump a short fence, so if your fence is only 4' tall, you'll need to walk him on leash for sure. Dale was adopted as an emotional support dog for a retired soldier with PTSD. Due to a move out of state, his owner was unable to take Dale with him. Dale is an incredibly loving dog who enjoys close companionship and cuddling. He often jumps up to sit on my lap or curls up at the end of my bed. He loves being outdoors and especially enjoys long walks, ideally in areas where he can be off-leash, though he does very well on a leash when required. He is kennel trained and goes to his kennel independently at bedtime with a simple verbal cue (“go to kennel”). Dale is well-mannered, affectionate, and eager to be with his people. While I would love to keep Dale, my busy schedule doesn’t allow me to give him the daily walks, playtime, and attention he deserves. He would thrive in a home with someone who has the time to walk him daily, play with him regularly, and enjoy his affectionate nature.
