Story
Memphis was our first dog, he is almost 6 years old and we have had him since he was 8 weeks old. We love him with our whole hearts and this has been a hard decision. We have 2 kids under 2 and don’t have the time to play with him or get him the exercise he needs . We are failing him at this point . I will be very selective about where he goes , I’m hoping to find a retired couple who will love him and give him lots of exercise. He is loyal and loving and such a good boy . He deserves the world and we just can’t give him that. I think he will do better with older kids as he doesn’t have an awareness to be careful and can tend to knock them over. He is great on a leash and knows several tricks . As much as he loves to play , he will curl up beside you and cuddle as much as you want.

Jesse is almost a year old. She’s very smart and well behaved. Great with my children who range from preteen to toddler. She has been around other dogs and socializes well. Jesse doesn’t know a stranger. She loves everyone. I have a very busy schedule between work and kids and their sports etc. we want Jesse to find a good loving home where she will get the attention she needs.

Story
Hi I'm Chili and I am 4-5 months old shepherd mix and weigh around 26 pounds. I am currently in a foster home with my sister but we are looking for our forever home. My foster mom says I'm a shy girl but super sweet and I don't have a mean bone in my body. It takes me a little bit to warm up to humans (because I wasn't socialized before coming to Canine Collective) but with treats and a little patience I will warm up and get comfortable. I do really well with other dogs and would benefit from having another dog in the home although that's not a requirement. I really love playing with toys...especially squeaker toys. I also enjoy wrestling with my fur siblings and playing chase. If you are interested in meeting me, please visit caninecollective.org and fill out an adoption application!

Story
Meet Gidget!  Gidget is petite (mid 30s), sweet and a little bit shy. We believe that she is a Botder Collie mix. She gets along well with other dogs, is house and crate trained. Gidget is blossoming every day and is ready for her new forever family. We think that she is between 2-3 years old. Her adoption fee is $250. She is up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, spayed and microchipped.  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   June 6, 2023, 10:57 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsy definitely has a herding dog breed in her mix. We think Border Collie. Gypsy is around 4 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is a very good girl and the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She can climb a 6-foot fence, but I caught her on the first try, told her no, and she has not attempted it since. Gypsy is fairly active. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited, and she loves to run and play with her toys. She especially loves squeaky toys. Gypsy loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot. She gets excited about squirrels and cats on the other side of the fence. Gypsy gets along best with male dogs and doesn't like annoying small dogs. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She can sit and comes when called, She is crate-trained, house-trained, and otherwise very well-behaved in the house. She could perhaps use a bit more obedience training with someone that is firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved member of the family and would like a large yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy's adoption fee includes ground transport via Rescue Road Trips for pickup in Zanesville Ohio. She is being fostered in Texas and we cannot afford o send her north until after she is adopted.
