Story
Newton is a very active dog. He was born in February of 2022 (4 y/o). He loves the outdoors, and is extremely playful. But he needs an experience adopter who is familiar with reactive/working dogs such as collies and shepherds. He is extremely loyal. He has only lived in a single owner home, and not with any other animals up to this point. He sleeps in a kennel each night and is fed outdoors. He only showed some protective aggression over his food as a baby (likely stemming from being the runt of a large litter). He can sleep indoors or outdoors in the right home environment. Contact me directly with additional questions regarding his nature. I am a single male who has a very busy working schedule, unable to sustain and give him the attention and outdoor time he deserves.

Story
Fenrir is a very sweet ~9 year old puppy who loves snuggles and attention. He has been a part of our family for nearly a decade but due to a recent move and allergies in the home we are looking to re-home him. He is very smart, trainable, and loving - but has minimal socializing with other dogs so he leads by barking. Despite a loud bark, he's never been aggressive towards other dogs. He does well with cats and kids. He loves to run free in a fenced in backyard but also does well on a leash. A small quirk is that he HATES trains. We moved near train tracks and he will bark/howl through the night if he hears one (and with those ears he hears EVERYTHING). We also have allergies in the house and he requires a lot of grooming upkeep due to his coat. He is a very good boy and it was with a heavy heart we made this decision. Please reach out with any questions.

Story
Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. If interested in meeting Space please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org!

Story
🐾 Meet Imogen – A Quiet Soul Ready to Bloom 🌸💕Some dogs have lived a life full of adventures. Others, like Imogen, are just beginning theirs. 💖Imogen is one of the sweet dogs rescued from our recent hoarding case, and while the world is still a big, unfamiliar place, she's making incredible progress every single day. The scared little girl who once kept her distance now happily seeks out affection, wags her tail when you approach, and will gladly curl up in your lap for cuddles. She absolutely ADORES snuggles, pets, and treats—especially the cheesy and meaty kind! 🧀🥩💕 Staff have consistently shared how much she's blossomed during her time with us.Imogen is a mixed breed dog of many types of breeds, we imagine, we have her listed as possibly having border collie and austrailian shepherd as part of those breeds, but we really don't know. Imogen will need a patient family that understands she's still building confidence. She's learning that walks can be fun (her leash skills are improving every day! 🦮), new experiences aren't so scary, and people can be trusted. Watching her come out of her shell has been one of the most rewarding transformations we've seen. 🌼She has tested well with other dogs and is used to living with canine companions. Smaller or calm dogs would likely be the best match, as larger dogs can still be a little intimidating for her. 🐶 We haven't seen her around children yet, so if you have kids, we'd love for you to bring them along to meet her!✨ Adoption Fee: $70🎂 Age: Around 3 years old🚺 Sex: Female⚖️ Weight: 32 lbs🐕 Breed: Mixed BreedImogen will be ready to head home with her forever family starting Monday, July 6. Before adoption, Imogen will be:💉 Spayed💉 Vaccinated🩺 Heartworm & Lyme tested (negative!)🦟 Flea & tick treated❤️ On heartworm prevention📍 MicrochippedIf you're looking for a dog who will reward your patience with unwavering love and the sweetest cuddles, Imogen just might be your perfect match. 🥹🐾💕We're open Monday through Friday 12-5 pm and Saturday 11-3 pm. We're located at 9331 State Route 124 Hillsboro, OH. Our adoption is open and easy, please come to the shelter to meet the animals in person to adopt.

Story
Meet Jacques! At just 3.5 months old and already tipping the scales at 20 pounds, Jacques is a handsome black-and-white Border Collie mix with a thoughtful soul and a bright future ahead of him. Jacques is the kind of puppy who likes to take it all in first. He’s observant, intelligent, and always paying attention to what’s happening around him. While some puppies rush headfirst into every situation, Jacques prefers to assess the scene before joining the fun—which is classic Border Collie behavior! His gentle, sweet temperament makes him a joy to be around, and he has done wonderfully with both people and adult dogs. As he grows, Jacques will thrive in a home that enjoys teaching and engaging a smart pup. Whether it's learning tricks, exploring new places, or simply being your loyal sidekick, this boy is ready to soak it all up. Jacques is still a baby and isn't fully potty trained yet, but he's already doing a great job consistently using pee pads and learning his puppy manners. If you're looking for a sweet, intelligent best friend who will grow into a devoted companion, Jacques may be your perfect match. Jacques is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
