Kevin came to us from a man who has to move back home overseas. He is black and white (with a little brindling) We think he is a Puggle- Boston Terrier and Pug mix. He is super sweet and loves to snuggle and trot when he goes for a walk. He is about 17 pounds He is very happy and friendly to all. He walks well on leash and loves playing with other dogs and people....

Story
Hi I'm Judy! My owner left me on the side of the 210 freeway tied to a pole. A human scooped me up after seeing me there 2 days in a row and brought me into the shelter. I was a little sick and a little skinny, but my tail never stopped wagging. Despite my past, I am an incredibly approachable, sweet, and docile girl : ) I am easy to walk on a leash, I'm quiet, and I love pats on the head and kisses. I'm good around other dogs, all people, and children too! Come visit me at my foster parents, you won't regret it.

Story
Get out of the way and make room for Graham.  The most entertaining, 10-pound, vintage American Gentleman you might have the opportunity to meet.  A few weeks ago, social media was all a buzz.  Everyone was advocating to save the senior Boston Terrier that was at the Downey Shelter.  Our Rescue Director rushed to LA to pull the frail old guy and get him vetted and into a foster home.  Well… to all of our amazement – the skinny, 12-year-old BT, the shelter named Graham is full of life, curiosity and agility.  While it is obvious, he needs to gain a few pounds, this guy eats like a champ and has more energy than dogs half his age.  Constantly on the go and hard at work making sure things are as they should be.  Graham is the self-appointed “Supervisor” of everything his foster mom does.  If she opens a closet door, he is going in to make sure everything is organized to his liking.  If you open a cabinet, he is going to scale the shelves to make sure they are up to code.  Do you need help with household chore?   This guy is right there checking out the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.  He believes in efficiency and getting things done.  His Foster Dad is trying to teach this old dog new tricks.  Graham will use the doggie door to go outside but sometimes he will come back inside and potty.  Very much a work in progress.  Leash walking seems totally foreign to him.  He will just “refuse” to walk.  Not really a big deal because he is so small, there is no problem just carrying him around.  In fact, he would love if you just carried him around all day long.  He LOVES people and is great with other dogs.  He lives with several other dogs and gets along with all of them.  When in the car he prefers to ride in your lap.  Many times, when we bring senior dogs into rescue they just stay with their initial foster because we know their time is limited.  That truly is not the case with Graham.  He is ready to take on the world.  Graham is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and fecal and heartworm tested (both negative). We have been putting a nonprescription eye lube into his eyes a couple times a day just to keep him comfortable.  His vision might not be 100% but he sees well enough to navigate wherever he might want to go.  If you are looking for a dog to keep you laughing and put a smile on the faces of everyone the 2 of you come into contact with – then Graham is the guy for you.  Jump on over to our website: www.bostonbuddies.org and complete an adoption application. Story
Sweet elderly dog that we have had since he was puppy. In his senior years, he recently started to experience some behavioral changes, such as separation anxiety and does not want to go outdoors. He needs companionship throughout the day and night. Because he does not want to go outside, he does not wish to go the bathroom outdoors. He was fully house-trained up until recently. We have school and work all day, and cannot be with Max for so many hours in a day. He needs a lot of attention and love. He has a very mild temper and gets along with people of all ages as well as other animals in the house.

Meet Berkley! He’s a 3 year old, 25 pound Boston terrier mix. He likes to be the only pup in the home, so he can get all the belly rubs. Berkley is potty trained, and walks well on the leash. Older kids would be best while he’s settling in to a new home. Berkley is looking for his forever family, and he can’t wait to meet you!Interested in adopting this pet? Story
AKC Paperwork with proof of DOB is June 26,2021. We think she would be happiest living with no other dogs and only her humans. She just is dying for attention and love and is the sweetest girl with her people. But with other dogs she tends to get jealous of not having all the affection. The rescue has covered the cost of her spay, AKC microchip, harness, permanent reunification id tags, vaccinations Da2pp / rabies. She loves to play ball, go for walks, car rides and be snuggled. PLEASE NO CALLS OR TEXTS AS WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS, COMPLETE AN APPLICATION IF INTERESTED: saveabowwow.com/rescue/adoption-form If listed, dog is available. Once dog is pending adoption, this page will reflect that information. Note: All breeds and ages are our veterinarians best educated guess (unless otherwise stated that our group has breeder paperwork) Medical notes: Spayed 9/14/23, DHPP 9/14/23, Rabies (3yr) done 9/14/23. Microchipped 9/14/23. Fine Print: -All of our French bulldogs must be walked with a harness (never on a neck collar). -The rescue requires adoptive family to obtain pet insurance for coverage of congenital and hereditary conditions. This is for any of the dogs in our rescue identified as a French Bulldog or a Frenchie Mix. Adoption will be finalized once the proof of pet insurance requirement is met. (There are some great policies ranging between $28-32 per month) -We have an open door policy and are always here to discuss anything that may arise with your adoptive pet. After an adoption is conducted please do not hesitate to reach out. -Please no texts or calls, apply if interested. -This breed generally speaking cannot swim and will sink like bowling balls so we do not adopt out to any homes with unfenced pools. -Fergie has had an altercation with another animal while in foster care. She’s been going through training with her foster mom and we have been now able to leave her unattended with other dogs. Where before we were concerned. Progress has certainly been made but we would prefer a no dog home for her -We have never introduced Fergie to children due to her jealous nature. However, she lived with children before coming to the rescue.

Story
Loves to be held in your arms. Attention starved prior to coming to rescue. She has just learned the doggy door and uses it to go to the restroom outside. Sleeps in the human bed at night and loves to be the center of attention. She’s really enjoying being a house dog and doted on and would prefer someone that wants to hold her a lot, or let her lay on couch next to them. We believe Bonnie would love to be an only child. But if having a dog sibling; male is her preference. Spayed 9/13/23, DHPP 9/13/23, Rabies (3yr) done 9/13/23. Microchipped PLEASE NO CALLS OR TEXTS AS WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS, COMPLETE AN APPLICATION IF INTERESTED: saveabowwow.com/rescue/adoption-form If listed, dog is available. These are funny, quirky, special little dogs that enjoy being with their human but tend to be lazy couch potatoes with bouts of “zoomies”.

Once dog is pending adoption, this page will reflect that information. More about Pennys story and how she came to rescue; So penny is perfect in our eyes! Owner purchased from a breeder who is AKC registered for $$$$$$ but returned her back to breeder after having her 3 months because as she grew, her snout was “too long” and wasn’t pushed in enough so she didn’t look like a “Real Frenchie”. The beauty of this is she doesn’t have breathing issues like they normally have! We still haven’t heard her snore which is almost unheard of for the breed. Most need nares or BOAS surgery and because her snout is a little wider / longer she’s actually healthier. (For this reason, we have listed her as a Frenchton, french bulldog Boston terrier even though she’s full frenchie according to the AKC breeder we got her from) We have her DOB in her file. She’s had vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped with AKC and just got her spayed. She was eating victor brand food and likes nutro / blue buffalo also. She’s great with all the other dogs and with kids! She’s now learned the “sit” command. She is doing well with harness walks now but before didn’t know what a walk was. She doesn’t mind going to the vets and thinks it’s great to get all their attention. Doesn’t mind big nor small dogs. She’s smart but wasn’t loved and taught much prior so she’s being spoiled now! She knows the doggy door and is very playful. She needs active playful dogs as companions and she loves to go out and explore the yard throughout the day. A yard for her is a must because she really enjoys going outside to do zoomies, sunbathe and give the perimeter a once over. She will burry her toy under the blanket for later. And is obsessed with chasing the water hose. She looks forward to the water hose being turned on and she will run and jump to “catch” the water. She’s truly an awesome dog. While we have had a lot of applications for her, we believe she’s best suited not only with a yard but a younger dog friend to play with. She’s been 100% housetrained at her foster families home with use of the doggy door. She had potty pad experience before coming to rescue but she hasn’t used them since she learned the dog door. She knows how to use the pet stairs to climb up into bed with you at night.
