Story
Leo is an affectionate, loyal boy who loves being close to his people—whether he’s out on a walk or curled up on the couch. He enjoys car rides, chasing a ball, and soaking up the sun, but is just as happy relaxing at home. Leo is fully potty trained, knows basic commands, and is very treat motivated, making training both fun and rewarding. He’s currently working on his leash manners and improving every day.Leo would do best in a home that can give him time, patience, and love. A home without smaller animals would be best for him. He has done well with other dogs when introduced slowly and respectfully, and has been around small children, doing well when they respect his boundaries and space. While he would love a fenced yard, he has done well in an apartment and enjoys getting outside for his regular walks. One of Leo’s most unique features is his beautiful blue eye, a result of a past injury that has fully healed and doesn’t affect him—it just adds to his charm. Leo is a special dog ready to find a loving home to call his own.

Story
Meet Queen, a charming and sassy sidekick who`s equal parts snuggle bug, road trip companion, and toy-loving goofball. She’s all about her people and would happily follow you from room to room, or better yet, hop in the car for your next adventure. Queen is a professional passenger—calm, happy, and convinced that every ride needs her royal presence. She`s also potty trained, crate aware (though she’ll politely bark when she’s ready to come out), and great on leash with just a little pulling when she`s excited. Queen recently took on a 7-mile hike at Eno River State Park and absolutely crushed it. Suspension bridges? No problem. Crowds of school kids? Handled like a pro. She navigated everything with confidence and grace—earning some laughs and a few “Scooby-Doo” comments along the way. At home, Queen is a toy and treat-motivated gal who loves to chew on bones and play with her stash of goodies throughout the day. She gets along well with the calm senior dog in her foster home and minds her business like the classy lady she is. She`s also great with kids, though she prefers to enjoy her meals and bones without interruptionWhile Queen has some minor mobility quirks—likely due to a hip or leg issue—she doesn’t let it slow her down much. She handles steps with care and is happiest on flat ground where she can stay close to you. In the backyard, she’ll stick right by your side and comes when called. Queen is a sweet, spunky, and loyal dog who’s looking for a home where she can be part of the action, soak up affection, and chew to her heart’s content. If you’re searching for a loving, adventurous companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Queen just might be your match!

Story
Insights from my adventure buddies and foster friends:Louie recently went on a 2.5-day weekend sleepover and he did very well! This fun-loving boy brings plenty of puppy energy to the table and lives for games of ball and tug-of-war. Because he is currently navigating a chewing phase, durable Kong toys are his absolute favorite. Louie thoroughly enjoyed having a fenced-in backyard where he could freely run his zoomies and explore. While he had one minor excitement-pee accident right when he first arrived, he had no other accidents and successfully demonstrated that he is house-trained. When it comes to relaxing, Louie loves being a close companion. Once allowed on the couch and bed, he was completely calm and slept for 8 hours uninterrupted at the foot of the bed. He is also a polite boy out in public; during a leash trip to a hardware store, Louie did excellent in the new environment, wagging his tail and calmly greeting strangers while accepting treats from them. He is still working on his manners and will need an adopter who can support him in learning basic commands like `sit` and `stay,` but he`s young and eager to keep learning. My adoption fee has been fully sponsored.Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!

This pup is eligible for our Test the Couch program — a 7-day trial adoption to see if your home (and your couch) is the perfect fit. Learn more  https://pipsrescue.org/test-the-couch/ Meet Iris, a sweet, snuggly, and old soul who is ready to retire into her dream home. She’s all about the simple pleasures in life like leisurely walks, expert level naps, and maximum coziness. Iris is affectionate, loyal, and deeply devoted to her person. She lives for attention, couch cuddles, and strategically placing herself at your feet while you work so you never forget she’s there. She is an excellent car ride companion and enjoys getting out for adventures, though she can occasionally put a little extra enthusiasm into the leash. At home, she is a professional snoozer and odds are high you will find her exactly where you left her, usually on the couch. When it comes to other dogs, Iris knows what she likes. She requires slow, thoughtful introductions and prefers older, neutral males or being your one and only. Dominant female dogs need not apply. She can coexist with a younger neutral female with management, but in her heart she prefers calm, middle aged or senior companions. Puppies are tolerated in short doses, but she has officially entered her “get off my lawn” era and has no interest in raising the neighborhood hooligans. Because Iris is a bit older and sometimes likes her personal space respected, a home with kids over 10 is recommended. She is sweet and loving, but sore joints and grabby hands are not her idea of a good time. Iris is firmly anti crate and would like that known. She does just fine left out or in a dog safe room. Her biggest temptations include bathroom trash cans, unattended dirty laundry, and food left on low tables. Counters and dining tables are safe. She will not chew toys, Legos, or stuffed animals. Her true hobbies are napping and quietly supervising household activities. She comes with some endearing quirks. A bag of dog food left on the floor is suspicious and will be guarded. Put that same food in a bin and all is right with the world. At night, Iris sometimes hears very important things, possibly a squirrel sneezing or a leaf thinking too loudly, and feels the need to report it. A box fan or white noise machine helps her sleep peacefully. Iris tolerates baths and nail trims like a champ, though she can be a little sensitive about her ears. She is quirky, loving, loyal, and bonds deeply with her people. Iris is looking for a calm, understanding home that appreciates a seasoned dog with opinions, boundaries, and a whole lot of love to give. If you are searching for a devoted companion who wants nothing more than to nap near you, supervise your life, and be adored in return, Iris might just be your girl. ##2285665##

Story
Victor may be big, but that just means he has so much more room for love!❤️ Victor is our 4-year old, 62 lb goofy giant! Found as a stray, Victor didn’t let his new shelter life phase him. He has adjusted well to the new daily routine and is looking for that special someone ready to just hang.🤙 He is extremely toy motivated and loves a good squeaker, though it may not last very long once he gets his mouth on it.🦴Victor can be a strong puller when coming out of his kennel, but settles very nicely after stretching his legs. ✅Victor has done well in playgroup, he just needs a little time to loosen up around new dogs. We always recommend potential new dogs meet resident dogs before adoption. Victor is just a big, goofy, chill guy who wants to find a home where he can hang out with his people and his toys.🧡

Story
Dog Day Out: Allen recently went on a Dog Day Out field trip! He stopped by a park to get his steps in on the trail before heading home to relax in the A/C.🐾 He was energetic, playful and friendly when he ran into new people! 🚙He rode very well in the car and enjoyed looking out the window at the world passing by. 🧸He took his favorite squeaky toy along with him, which worked well to keep him entertained! He also showed interest in other new stuffed toys. At home, he discovered a mirror and the TV and was very confused about the other dog that suddenly appeared in the house as well as the strange noises coming from the screen.📺 Here’s what his field trip partner had to say about him: “He’s so well balanced, smart and very food motivated. With some time and patient he can become a well behaved, trained pup!”

Story
Ophelia is searching for a patient home where she can learn how to trust.❤️‍🩹 Ophelia is a 4-year-old, 60 lb sweetheart that was found by herself in a crate with just enough room to lay down.🥺She had a slow start in the shelter, unsure about the new people, but her true personality has flourished! This pretty girl loves to take long walks and does incredibly well on a leash! She enjoys sniffing her new surroundings, watching the local wildlife, feeling the breeze.🍃 Ophelia has done well at a previous adoption event, quietly and confidently asking adults and kids alike give her pets.👫Staff were impressed by her improvement from timid and unsure to confident and determined.
