This beautiful girl is Cocoa. Cocoa is 4 yrs old and has a pure velvet coat. She is very smart and PERFECTLY house trained. She has not had any accidents, has no desire to get on furniture, she is curious, but not at all destructive. She is also a very gentle dog that loves her toys, but does not destroy them. She can sit and give you her paw like a champ. Cocoa would love an active family that would take her for car rides, hikes and runs. She is an athletic girl that excels at ZOOMIES and TWIRLS. Story
Meet Nala, our resident beefcake with a heart of gold. 💪💖Nala is strong, solid, and impressive at first glance — but give her a moment and you’ll see what she really is: a total love bug who just wants affection, reassurance, and someone to call her own. She does best as the only pet in the home, but she’s great with children and thrives on human companionship. Her past hasn’t been kind. Nala came to the shelter emaciated, after spending much of her life locked in a crate, with painful urine-scalded feet and legs. Despite everything she endured, she never lost her gentle spirit or her desire to trust people. She’s had professional training, giving her a solid foundation, and she wants so badly to do the right thing. After waiting at the shelter for quite some time, Nala finally found a home — only to be returned recently due to her adopter experiencing serious health issues. Through no fault of her own, she’s back, confused and waiting again.Nala has already survived more than any dog should have to. What she needs now is stability, patience, and someone who will see past her muscles to the soft heart underneath. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion and can offer her a pet-free home, Nala is ready to love you with her whole big body and even bigger heart. 🐾More information? Story
Emerging from the depths of her enchanted kiddie pool, Vada the Troll Queen is here to claim your backyard, your hose, and your heart. This mischievous little gremlin is equal parts sass, splash, and snuggle (on her terms, of course). She’s a one-of-a-kind, hose-chasing, Kong-chomping legend—and she’s looking for a loyal human to serve as her humble subject.Vada’s ideal kingdom includes: • A hose with good water pressure (the royal fountain, obviously) • A steady supply of Kongs (the sacred treasure of her people) • Zero other dogs (she’s a solo troll, thank you very much) • Cats who know their place (bow or be batted at) • Minimal manfolk (she finds them suspicious)She may be wary of strange humans (especially tall, loud ones), but once you’re accepted into her inner swamp circle, Vada is fiercely loyal and surprisingly sweet. She’ll keep your yard safe from rogue sprinklers, overconfident squirrels, and any unauthorized lawn gnomes.Vada is not here to win “Miss Congeniality.” She’s here to rule, splash, and chew rubbery things until they squeak no more. If you’re looking for a gentle, dainty flower—keep walking. But if you’re ready to bow before the chaos goblin queen and laugh every day at her swampy shenanigans, your highness awaits.Long live Vada. Bring snacks.More information? Story
Introducing (again), Miss Sissy girl !! Sissy, previously known as Willow, arrived at the pound in October 2022. She was adopted in March 2023 and unfortunately that person turned out to be very irresponsible, and that led to her being surrendered back to us. She is now looking for her forever home, with a family who will love her and give her the positive attention she deserves. We have recently discovered that Sissy has a cataracts and is mostly blind in her left eye. Which could be the reason she walks with this adorable sway. Sissy loves everyone she meets and we are open to doing meet and greets with other dogs and children, but she will need a home without cats. Come meet this beautiful girl during our open hours Monday through Friday 12-6 and Saturdays 12-4.

Story
Meet sweet Rizzo! Rizzo is a 9-year-old couch potato who lives for cuddles and absolutely adores all things pink. Through no fault of her own, her current owner is no longer able to care for her, so this is made to help this loveable girl find her forever home. Rizzo spent just over a year with me at UCHS (Union County Humane Society), and she is truly one of the happiest, most easy-going dogs Ive ever had the privilege knowing. She isnt a fan of cats or other female dogs, so she would do best in an only-pet home, or with another male companion. She is very low energy, fully potty trained, and does wonderfully with kids. If youd like more information about Rizzo or think she might be the perfect addition to your family, feel free to message, or email anytime! I am making this for her owner to help her find her home.

Story
⭐🚀Meet Ryker - Ready to boldly go ... straight into your heart! Set phasers to snuggle, because Ryker is one stellar sweetheart! Named after the legendary Captain Riker from Star Trek, this handsome boy is ready to beam into his forever home and become your loyal first mate. Ryker originally came to us as a stray, but you'd never know it. From day one he's been kind, affectionate and eager to make friends with his crew. He absolutely loves attention and has a heart as big as the Enterprise. If you're looking for a dog whose equal parts explorer and cuddle bug, Ryker may be your perfect co-captain. On leash, Ryker usually cruises at impulse speed... but every now and then, especially after experiencing the legendary poop zoomies, he may engage into warp drive and tug you along with him. With some consistent training and regular adventures, this space cadet will continue polishing his walking skills. Ryker has done fairly well keeping his kennel clean, with only a few accidents here and there. He hasn't shown much reactivity towards other dogs here at the shelter, though we do require a meet-and-greet if he will be joining a multi-dog crew. As for cats, Ryker either politely ignores them... or is mildly terrified of them if they swat at him. Either way, he's never tried to chase or harm them here at the shelter. This adventurous captain would thrive in a home with someone who enjoys frequent walks or has a large yard for exploration - but don't worry, he's just as happy to dock on the couch for some quality snuggle time. Ryker can be a bit picky with his meals but offer him some cheese or peanut butter and you'll quickly earn his loyalty. If you are ready for a loyal companion who's sweet, silly and ready to boldly go wherever life takes you, Ryker is standing by for boarding!🚀⭐
