Story
Bluey is a sweet puppy looking for his forever home! He is a great cuddler and is learning his manners quickly! After just a week in our home, he is progressing with crate training and learning to love soft blankets, treats, and playing in the yard. His favorite activity is laying in the grass while chewing on a bone. He also loves to play fetch for a few tosses. He plays well with our dog, a 70 lbs. pit mix, and seems uninterested in our two cats. As he has only been with us for a week and is still waiting on his vaccinations, he doesn't have much experience with new people, kids, or other pets, but with his quick transition into our home with our pets, it seems he will have no problem acclimating to his forever home!As he is about 3 months old, he is currently spending at most 3 hours alone in his crate (4 hours overnight). As we continue with potty training, we hope to increase the night time duration, but someone who can let him out during the day would be best. He generally cries or barks for a few minutes after we put him in his crate, but he is able to self-soothe himself to sleep. When Bluey lays his head on your shoulder, you will immediately fall in love. His eyes show that he has so much love to give and really wants to please his people. He is going to be an amazing dog for his forever family!Apply to meet him at ricopetrecovery.org. Adoption fee is $350. The adoption fee includes the first two sets of puppy vaccines at our veterinarian and the neuter and a microchip when he's old enough to be neutered at our partner veterinarian. The adopter is responsible for the remaining vaccines at their own veterinarian.

Story
🥰 This beautiful girl is Cocoa. Cocoa is 6 years old and has a pure velvet coat. She is very smart and PERFECTLY house trained. She has not had any accidents, has no desire to get on furniture, she is curious, but not at all destructive.  🧸 She is also a very gentle dog that loves her toys, but does not destroy them. She can “sit” and give you her paw like a champ. Cocoa would love an active family that would take her for car rides, hikes and runs. She is an athletic girl that excels at ZOOMIES and TWIRLS.  Cocoa needs some leash work and would need slow introductions to new dogs. 🙏Please consider fostering or fostering to adopt Cocoa so she can continue her great progress! Apply to meet Cocoa at ricopetrecovery.org

Story
🩷Meet Ophelia🩷Ophelia found herself in a county shelter that does not keep puppies for long. On top of that, Ophelia had a limp and was intermittently using one of her back legs. Once in our care, Ophelia’s limp was evaluated by our vet and in addition to be abandoned, she also had broken femur that healed before we were able to help. This special girl will always have a special little limp.  Ophelia is a world-class snuggler and would love a home with lots of empty laps, loving sibling dogs and soft cuddly blankets. She has experienced how living on cold cement floors behind bars feels and never wants to go back. Ophelia is 11 weeks old and 8.6 pounds - so she will most likely be on the smaller side.  Apply to meet her at ricopetrecovery.org.  Adoption fee is $350 and includes first 2 sets of vaccines, spay and microhip at our partner veterinarian when she is old enough to be spayed at our partner veterinarian. The adopter is responsible for the third and fourth boosters at their own veterinarian.

Story
Liberty BelleFemaleD.O.B. 5/1/2026Expected Full-Grown Weight: 65-75 lbsBreed: Boxer Mix Hi, I’m Liberty Belle, but my friends call me Belle! I’m an athletic, enthusiastic, and curious puppy who loves watching, learning, exploring, and being part of the action. I’m good with dogs, cats, and kids. I currently live with other dogs of different sizes and two cats, and I do well with everyone. Since I’m still young, I’m working on house training and leash walking, and I do need to be crated when left alone for short periods of time. I’m also learning that when the bells on the door ring, it’s time to go outside. I love toys — especially anything that squeaks! In the morning, I like to pull squeaky toys from the toy bin and carry them to my favorite spot on the couch. I also love playing in the kiddy pool, splashing my paws, fishing toys out of the water, and carrying them around the yard. When I get excited, I love to zoom around in big, fast circles. I’m a strong, muscular little girl with impressive jumping skills, and I’ve even tried to parkour my way through flower pots and across the garden. I’m playful and busy, so while I don’t mind being held or carried, I usually have places to go, toys to play with, and adventures to start. I’m affectionate too! I love couch cuddles and especially like to be the big spoon, nosing my way between my person and the back of the couch so I can snuggle in close. I’m also attentive and take cues from my people. If another dog barks at something outside, I look to my foster dad first to see how he reacts. I like to taste-test treats before fully committing, but cream cheese was a big hit when it came time to take my monthly flea, tick, and heartworm pill. If you’re looking for a fun, smart, active puppy who loves toys, cuddles, zoomies, and exploring the world, I might just be your Girl. If you are interested in meeting Belle apply to adopt her at www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $395. Must be an Ohio resident & 23 or older. Children must be 5 or older. ##2778277##

Story
Having to find a new home for my dog Bruce and want to do right by him, not just post and hope. Bruce is 7, about 108 lbs, and about as gentle as a dog his size can be. He's amazing with people, including kids, and has never once shown aggression toward a person. He's calm, affectionate, and settled, basically a big lap dog who doesn't know he's big. The one thing to know: Bruce does not get along with another dog in the home and will stand up for himself if pushed. He'd do best as the only dog in the household, or with an experienced owner who can manage a careful introduction if there's already a dog in the house. He needs a fenced yard and a confident handler on leash given his size. I'm doing a meet-and-greet before any placement and would love updates once he's settled. Happy to answer questions about his history and routine. Bruce deserves a soft landing, and I want to make sure it's the right one.

Story
What a face! Humphrey is a big doofus. When he arrived he weighed 14 lbs. He was living in a crate and being starved to death. But with the right vet care and foster he is now 40 lbs and loving life. He still wants to eat too fast so he uses a special bowl to slow him down. Humphrey is still learning he can go outside to potty and he doesn't have to do his business in his crate. At some point his ears were cut off, probably with scissors, but that doesn't seem to bother him. And it just gives him a special look, along with his squatty muscular body. He needs a strong person to help him keep learning life can be good. He can be reactive with some dogs. No idea about cats but probably should not live with them. He does think he should be a lap dog and loves belly rubs. I am in a foster home so if you are interested in adoptiong me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.  March 9, 2026, 11:29 am
