Story
Meet Goldie! Goldie is 1-2 year old Boxer mix who was found roaming the streets in Columbus. Luckily, she found a wonderful family to take her in and reached out to PetPromise to help find her forever family. Goldie loves to play with other dogs, toys and cuddle. She is learning to love crate time and is currently working on house training. She gets along well with other dogs and cats. She quickly learned how to “sit” and we have no doubt she can learn many more tricks. She would do well in an active home with another active dog to play with. She is working on potty training and doing well with consistent positive reinforcement. She is very treat motivated and learning very quickly. She has already mastered sit! Goldie is also working on her crate training. She is doing excellent and is great with other dogs! She will ready for obedience classes when she is adopted. We HIGHLY encourage obedience/behavior training for all of our pups once adopted into their forever homes. If you live an active lifestyle and are ready to bring this adorable girl into you home, please apply to meet her at PetPromise.org Please fill out an adoption application at PetPromise.org We only adopt out in Columbus, Ohio area only. Adoption fee is $400

Story
Connie is quite the underdog. Living chained to a trailer and sleeping in deep mud, Connie produced litter after litter of puppies while never receiving any vet care whatsoever. The family finally agreed to surrender her and her only surviving pup (who was living in a small crate outdoors, and has now been adopted).Connie came to us emaciated and positive for several internal parasites, including heartworm and tick diseases. After several months of vet care, Connie is now heartworm free!!!Everyone at the vet loves Connie and her happy personality. Connie is good with other dogs but often intimidates dogs with her strong personality until they get to know her.Connie is approximately 45 pounds. She does have 'weak knees' which cause her to walk with stiff back legs on occasion. This is managed with oral medication as needed for pain. In general, Connie gets around really well and loves going on leash walks.Connie has been on restricted exercise while going through her heartworm treatment and can't wait to run and play again!Apply for Connie at ricopetrecovery.org Her adoption fee is $250.

Story
This beautiful girl is Cocoa. Cocoa is 4 yrs old and has a pure velvet coat. She is very smart and PERFECTLY house trained. She has not had any accidents, has no desire to get on furniture, she is curious, but not at all destructive. She is also a very gentle dog that loves her toys, but does not destroy them. She can sit and give you her paw like a champ. Cocoa would love an active family that would take her for car rides, hikes and runs. She is an athletic girl that excels at ZOOMIES and TWIRLS. Cocoa needs some leash work and would need slow introductions to new dogs. Please consider fostering or fostering to adopt Cocoa so she can continue her great progress! Ricopetrecovery.org/help.

Story
Meet the amazing Maze. Our Maze is a 7 year old boxer/American Bulldog mix who weighs 47 lbs. Why is she so amazing? This gal has received obedience training, knows hand signals, can bark on command, and loves to play ball. She loves the water too! We took her out to our agility course and she caught on pretty darn quick. She is deaf but that hasnt impacted her enjoyment of life at all.Maze is very loving and active. Our gal loves to be with her humans and especially so if they rub her butt. She does amazing with kids and is ok with cats but is picky about her doggie friends so she needs to be the only dog in the home Amazing Maze is extemely food motivated and will act like she is starving! lol.. Maze also likes to sit on the couch with her human and give gentle kisses. She also loves to go for car rides! She went for a day out with some volunteers and had a blast playing ball, exploring the water, getting lovin and just enjoying life. Check out the video of her day out and you will appreciate how truly amazing this dog is.Maze's ideal home would be where she is the queen and has adults or kids who would love to play ball with her in the backyard, take her for car rides, and snuggle on the couch. We really would love to get Maze out of the kennel and into a loving home. Just take a look at that video again and apply to adopt at www.caninecollective.org!

Story
If you're looking for a dog that is fine with cats, meet Marley! Even if you don't have cats, she will make you smile with her tail wags!I am around 2 year old extremely good girl who weighs about 65 lbs. I am a mixed breed that kinda looks like a boxer but am 100% sweetness and lovin. I am super smart and know many commands including sit, shake (with both paws), down, go lie down, come, get your toy, and crate! I learned agility after one day of training by my foster mom and my off leash recall is pretty darn good too. I am quite accomplished.I am a huge lover girl and my first couple days at my foster moms house I sprained my tail from wagging it too much. I LOVE treats and food of any kind and can catch any treat no matter the angle or velocity. I also love butt scratches and ear rubs so much I give happy grunts and will wack you with my tail. I love kids but my tail wacks might be too much for smaller kids. Older kids (10+) would find my tail wag velocity endearing and fun. Bonus: I get along great with my foster cat! He is different but kinda fun and even cuddle (see video). As a matter of fact I generally like cats better than other dogs, but I am ok with small submissive dogs. If you would like to meet/adopt me, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
What a face! Humphrey is a big doofus. When he arrived he weighed 14 lbs. He was living in a crate and being starved to death. But with the right vet care and foster he is now 40 lbs and loving life. He still wants to eat too fast so he uses a special bowl to slow him down. Humphrey is still learning he can go outside to potty and he doesn't have to do his business in his crate. At some point his ears were cut off, probably with scissors, but that doesn't seem to bother him. And it just gives him a special look, along with his squatty muscular body. He needs a strong person to help him keep learning life can be good. He can be reactive with some dogs. No idea about cats but probably should not live with them. He does think he should be a lap dog and loves belly rubs. I am in a foster home so if you are interested in adoptiong me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.  November 6, 2024, 3:21 pm
