Mina is a sweet dog, and we love her very much. She is about 10 years old. We got her from the humane society when she was 4, and she has always had some minor behavioral issues. She loves to sleep, but also enjoys being very active. She does not like other dogs or children. We are heartbroken to have to give her up, but she has started to become aggressive towards our toddler. A few weeks ago, she had a particularly stressful day and attacked our child, which is why we can no longer keep her in our house. If you don't have any children or other pets, Mina is an excellent companion.

Meet Sockhop! The cutest kid in town with the best playful energy! He’s a growing boy and is motivated to learn all of the things! He would also do best in a home with a yard over an apartment so that he could get his zoomies out! What I loved about Sockhop is how easily he settled down once we came inside. He didn’t try to continue being a ball of energy. He showed me that he knows how to balance his excitement and even offered to lay down on the couch with me. He was showing off his “sit” and “lay” and made it apparent that he will be the one to get an A+ in puppy training school. She is loyal, gentle, wise beyond her years, and she's the kind of dog who seems to know what you need before you do. Whether that's curling up next to you after a long day at work or being that nurturing loving presence to your kids. Mya is always there. She's the nanny dog of every family's dream too and loves being a family dog. She watches over the little ones, soothes them with a soft nudge or kiss, and places herself beautifully right between chaos and calm. She's the perfect medium size, not too big and not too small. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. We can promise you that Mya is the sweetest little angel. Mya currently shares her home with a family that has small children, and she ADORES them! The tiny humans she is currently fostered with are ages 6, 3, and 3 months. She is so incredibly gentle and loves being on the receiving end of their kisses, hugs, and giggles galore! She even lets them dress her in cute little outfits! Mya also extends her love and gentleness even towards other children as well. When other kids come over or when she sees other kids out on their walks she is just as loving with them as she is to the ones she is fostered with. She is probably the closest definition to an actual nanny dog. How she is with kids, really is the sweetest thing ever. Mya is even great to take on family walks throughout the neighborhood or local park. She is so easy to walk on a leash and rarely ever pulls. She is so easy that even the 6 year old is able to walk her. Mya also has no issues walking side by side to a stroller as well nor does she ever get in the way of the stroller. Mya also peacefully shares her home with cats and another pup, but she would much prefer to be the princess of her castle and soak up all the love for herself. Nothing short of what she absolutely deserves! That being said, the right family with the right dog and/or cat, could be a possibility. She is the perfect companion for a family that has slowed down a bit, or who prefer the quiet life of couch snuggling and binge watching marathons. Cherie rides well in the car, and is fully house and crate trained! Though she may protest just a little because her favorite thing is to be out with her people! Mya's dream home would have a backyard out in the suburbs away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Not that she minds the loud noises or the crowds of city life, she just a relaxed and calm lady we think would prefer living in a residential neighborhood and would probably love her own yard to sunbathe in on those warm spring and summer days. She also gets excited and does these adorable little jumps to go outside too which is another reason why we prefer to see her go to a home with a yard. *Fostered in Lowell, MA* Tootsie Pop is sweeter than her namesake and twice as cute! We believe Tootsie is a Black Lab, Boxer mix, though she is a rescue so these are simply our best guesses. Tootsie is estimated to be around a year old and weighs in at a slight 48 pounds, the perfect size for lap sitting. She loves toys, other dogs, people, and the pool! Her love of water must be from those black lab genes we see! Tootsie goes on daily walks with ease thanks to her amazing leash skills. Sweet Tootsie is nothing short of an all around good girl, and we can’t help but fall hard for her. You will too! She does well with everyone in the house- playful with the pups that wish to play, and respectful and kind toward the grumpier, older pups that wish for peace. Here at the rescue, she did wonderfully with the other dogs she met. Her joyful energy even got a rarely playful long-stay-rescue-dog to play chase with her! In her forever home, we think a goofy male would be the best doggy-sibling match for her. Her foster mom brags that she is crate trained and seems to be fully potty trained- she does not have accidents indoors. She does well in her crate and will go in for a little treat! Tootsie is super smart, she knows “sit” and she’s picking up on leash training quickly. She will need a confident leash walking human to teach her the ropes, she’s new to the whole “well loved dog” thing, but eager and excited to learn. A huge fan of the finer things in life, Tootsie loves all kinds of toys, no matter the shape size or color! Nylabones, stuffies, chews- you name it! She is a tug-of-war queen, as she should! As if she couldn’t get any better, she even shares her toys well with the other dogs in the home too. “Sharing is caring!” Says tootsie! While we haven’t seen Tootsie with kids just yet, we think she would be an amazing family dog for a home with kids 10+. She loves going places with her foster family, and has met kids at events and done well with them. From the moment you meet her, Tootsie is such a warm and friendly pup with so much love to give. She is so confident in new places, and always ready for the next adventure- now she’s ready for her forever home. We think Tootsie would do best in a house over an apartment. I have such a special girl I am so excited to share with you all! Her name is Scarlett and she is the most perfect, gentle, sweet, pretty little pittie baby you’ve ever seen! Have you looked at those eyes? Omg angel status. She is a dog’s best friend and will make such a good addition to a family looking to add some sweetness to their life! Scarlett is a pittie mix of some sort who is around 2 years old and weighs approximately 50 pounds. Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. This is great that she is already getting used to what life is like in a home when she gets adopted by her future family! I asked her foster what made Scarlett special and she had this to say “First, I wanted to keep her because after the first 12 hours, I realized how wonderfully sweet she is. She does great in her kennel and does not complain one bit. If you just sit down with her, she will approach you. She waits until night time to jump in the bed and lie down. With gentle pets she rolls over and soaks in every little pet. With even more time, she wants to play and engage. She shows her zoomies. She loves to play with other animals and seems curious about my cat but doesn’t go after him.” How precious is that? Scarlett is very dog friendly and would absolutely thrive in a home with multiple dogs. She meshes easily with all sorts of personalities and would do great in a home with medium energy dogs that enjoy playing but also know when it’s time to settle down. She is also cat tolerant and would do well in a home that has a dog savvy cat that doesn’t mind the occasional canine curiosity! She has spent a lot of time around kids and does great! She would do well with older children who understand how to properly care for a dog who takes a little while to open up to new people. Mina is a sweet dog, and we love her very much. She is about 10 years old. We got her from the humane society when she was 4, and she has always had some minor behavioral issues. She loves to sleep, but also enjoys being very active. She does not like other dogs or children. We are heartbroken to have to give her up, but she has started to become aggressive towards our toddler. A few weeks ago, she had a particularly stressful day and attacked our child, which is why we can no longer keep her in our house. If you don't have any children or other pets, Mina is an excellent companion.

Meet Sockhop! The cutest kid in town with the best playful energy! He’s a growing boy and is motivated to learn all of the things! He was showing off his “sit” and “lay” and made it apparent that he will be the one to get an A+ in puppy training school. She is loyal, gentle, wise beyond her years, and she's the kind of dog who seems to know what you need before you do. Whether that's curling up next to you after a long day at work or being that nurturing loving presence to your kids. Mya is always there. She's the nanny dog of every family's dream too and loves being a family dog. She watches over the little ones, soothes them with a soft nudge or kiss, and places herself beautifully right between chaos and calm. She the kind of dog that counts heads before settling in for a nap, who knows the sound of a baby's cry before you do, and who's always there to be a listening ear for those sweet baby talks. We can promise you that Mya is the sweetest little angel. Mya currently shares her home with a family that has small children, and she ADORES them! The tiny humans she is currently fostered with are ages 6, 3, and 3 months. She is so incredibly gentle and loves being on the receiving end of their kisses, hugs, and giggles galore! She even lets them dress her in cute little outfits! Mya also extends her love and gentleness even towards other children as well. When other kids come over or when she sees other kids out on their walks she is just as loving with them as she is to the ones she is fostered with. She is probably the closest definition to an actual nanny dog. How she is with kids, really is the sweetest thing ever. Mya is even great to take on family walks throughout the neighborhood or local park. She is so easy to walk on a leash and rarely ever pulls. She is so easy that even the 6 year old is able to walk her. Mya also has no issues walking side by side to a stroller as well nor does she ever get in the way of the stroller. Mya also peacefully shares her home with cats and another pup, but she would much prefer to be the princess of her castle and soak up all the love for herself. Nothing short of what she absolutely deserves! That being said, the right family with the right dog and/or cat, could be a possibility. She is the perfect companion for a family that has slowed down a bit, or who prefer the quiet life of couch snuggling and binge watching marathons. Cherie rides well in the car, and is fully house and crate trained! Though she may protest just a little because her favorite thing is to be out with her people! Mya's dream home would have a backyard out in the suburbs away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Not that she minds the loud noises or the crowds of city life, she just a relaxed and calm lady we think would prefer living in a residential neighborhood and would probably love her own yard to sunbathe in on those warm spring and summer days. She also gets excited and does these adorable little jumps to go outside too which is another reason why we prefer to see her go to a home with a yard. Ultimately, wherever she ends up calling "home", Mya is poised to spend her Golden Years giving all of the love and quiet companionship that Senior dogs are especially known for. *Fostered in Lowell, MA* Tootsie Pop is sweeter than her namesake and twice as cute! We believe Tootsie is a Black Lab, Boxer mix, though she is a rescue so these are simply our best guesses. Tootsie is estimated to be around a year old and weighs in at a slight 48 pounds, the perfect size for lap sitting. She loves toys, other dogs, people, and the pool! Her love of water must be from those black lab genes we see! Tootsie goes on daily walks with ease thanks to her amazing leash skills. Sweet Tootsie is nothing short of an all around good girl, and we can’t help but fall hard for her. You will too! Here at the rescue, she did wonderfully with the other dogs she met. Her joyful energy even got a rarely playful long-stay-rescue-dog to play chase with her! In her forever home, we think a goofy male would be the best doggy-sibling match for her. Her foster mom brags that she is crate trained and seems to be fully potty trained- she does not have accidents indoors. She does well in her crate and will go in for a little treat! Tootsie is super smart, she knows “sit” and she’s picking up on leash training quickly. She will need a confident leash walking human to teach her the ropes, she’s new to the whole “well loved dog” thing, but eager and excited to learn. A huge fan of the finer things in life, Tootsie loves all kinds of toys, no matter the shape size or color! Nylabones, stuffies, chews- you name it! She is a tug-of-war queen, as she should! As if she couldn’t get any better, she even shares her toys well with the other dogs in the home too. “Sharing is caring!” Says tootsie! While we haven’t seen Tootsie with kids just yet, we think she would be an amazing family dog for a home with kids 10+. She loves going places with her foster family, and has met kids at events and done well with them. From the moment you meet her, Tootsie is such a warm and friendly pup with so much love to give. She is so confident in new places, and always ready for the next adventure- now she’s ready for her forever home. We think Tootsie would do best in a house over an apartment. I have such a special girl I am so excited to share with you all! Her name is Scarlett and she is the most perfect, gentle, sweet, pretty little pittie baby you’ve ever seen! Have you looked at those eyes? Omg angel status. She is a dog’s best friend and will make such a good addition to a family looking to add some sweetness to their life! She does great in her kennel and does not complain one bit. If you just sit down with her, she will approach you. She waits until night time to jump in the bed and lie down. With gentle pets she rolls over and soaks in every little pet. With even more time, she wants to play and engage. She shows her zoomies. Dori thinks she must be on Santa's naughty list, since no one has wanted to adopt her this whole year! She is the sweetest, silliest girl who will tell you all about it when you get home by woo-wooing at you! Dori loves to go for walks and snuggle on the couch with you. She is a boxer mix, spayed, utd on shots and chipped. Dori is probably almost 3yo now and is VERY ready for her furever home. Dori loves to run around the backyard and be chased by another dog her size or bigger. She should NOT live in a home with small prey-type animals, including cats. Dori has had 2 litters of pups and was a great mama. She can be reactive to other dogs while on leash, but I feel like it's due to excitement. Small in name, big on presence, that is Guppy! This boy is an attention-getter- the squishy face and connection seeking eyes can convince anyone to give him a little love or a free-treat. His favorite things, in no particular order, Guppy loves- kisses, booty scratches, sharing treats with his new girlfriend, and apples. Yes, apples! Maybe not that surprising but what makes it especially fun is the chompy-chomp sound it makes when he chews them, if you have ever fed a horse an apple or an apple slice, you know the sound- it is so good! We all agree, our favorite thing about Guppy is his tippy-tappy dance, reserved for his favorite people. Imagine that big beefcake greeting you at the door doing his little dance! My heart! Guppy recently went for a doggy day out with his favorite volunteers. He went to the park and played on the jungle gym, and he even went down the slide! Of course life with guppy is the best life, he will slide into any adventure with you if you’ll let him. He even got to go for not one, but TWO pup cups after. What can we say, a guy like him deserves it. Of course, given Guppy is a rescue, we cannot guarantee breed or age. He currently weighs 63 lbs and has a few pounds to gain so we expect him to top out around 65-70 lbs. Another one of our favorite things about Guppy, is how great he is with kids!! He has spent a lot of time with our Director of Behavior and Intakes son and she is constantly impressed by his patience, tolerance, and over relaxed nature around her 4 year old son. Yes he is relaxed in nature around her son but he knows how to be a fun silly guy as well. Kobe loves to toss around the toys for a little game of fetch and there's Guppy just hanging out watching the action and occasionally joining in as well. He was not bothered but us rolling around on the floor with him, running around like little minions, and wasn't phased by her son jumping on and off the couch too. Another thing that we were super impressed by was Guppy's patience and impulse control with her son's fruit bar especially since he loves his snacky snacks. Guppy would sit right next to him patiently watching, hoping for a little morsel to be dropped on the floor. There was even a time when some was dropped on the floor and her son went to go pick it up and Guppy did not go zooming over to it to gobble it up. He knew it was her son's snack and not his and when it is a snack for Guppy, he was very gentle when taking treats from him and was not pushy or overbearing. He also really enjoyed licking the cheese off of her son's fingers. He's a great pup to have around to help with the after dinner clean ups. We have introduced Guppy to a variety of dogs to gauge his play style and who he gravitates to naturally. It has been easy to see that he shines brightest when he is with the ladies. You can say he is a little bit of a ladies man with the furry type and also the human type LOL. His “type” continues to be the calmer, lower-energy females. Not to say that Guppy doesn't like to play, he does but his definition of play is few and short in between and he's gotta really be feeling it. His play consists of a few seconds of romping around, maybe a few gentle body bumps here and there, then that's it. That's Guppy's play style. He does have a girlfriend, well a few actually, but his number one girlfriend is a wiggly senior female who has the same love of treats and laying around. The two of them together is just about the cutest and he really showed us he is quite the gentleman. If they were being offered treats, he always let her have one first, never once getting pushy. If looking to match-make your current dog in your home, Guppy would be a great companion for a female that matches his chill, low-energy approach to play and life. Guppy is also gentleman in his crate- he has not made a mess once in his crate. As for other pets, a no-cats or small animals home is needed. Whether its chickens or cats or similar- Guppy wants to chase and given his size that is an avoidable bit of chaos. On walks, Guppy’s excitement to be out and about greeting the people and seeing the sights, can lead to him pulling, so he is actively practicing leash training and making great progress everyday. The truth is though, this boy isn’t the outdoor adventure type, his interest in being outside is limited to backyard potty breaks, after that he is headed back inside to that cozy spot by your feet. He is happy to go out in the back yard for a potty break and then back to that spot by your feet or in his cozy bed. If you really want him to be a true 'couch potato” you may have to offer him a few of the good treats and even then he is going to let you hear a tiny bit of sass back. Its a cute little chatter that makes us all laugh. You will see a moment of it in his intro-video. His treat-motivated focus makes him a great candidate for continued teaching and training whether its just for fun or to polish him up to be a model best-boy but he comes with the basic- a great sit and a good recall. Another time Guppy uses his voice is to say hi from a distance when he sees someone he likes or wants to meet, it isn’t excessive but it does make him better suited for house living rather than an apartment. At the rescue when Guppy is hanging out in the living room he doesn’t use his voice to greet people though, he just hops up and comes right over, whether he knows you or its your first time passing through. I love Lucy! And you will too! A perfect family dog, a perfect running buddy, a dog-loving-dog, a perfect work-from-home companion, a total cuddle bug, Lucy checks every box. We think Lucy is an American Staffordshire Terrier, American Bully mix, but with rescue it is always a guess. She’s estimated to be around 2 years old. Lucy is currently thriving in a foster home with her foster mom and dad, who describe her as a huge couch potato. She’s so lovable that one of our directors temporarily fostered her too, in a home with many other dogs and a thirteen year old daughter. Lucy is fantastic with kids, previously having lived with a nine year old and a fifteen year old. She even had a chance to meet four year old Kobe, another director’s kiddo. Lucy and Kobe were fast friends, Lucy was so gentle and affectionate with him. She took treats sweetly from his hands, and even snuggled up with him in bed. See for yourself in her video! Her foster mom says it’s great because she can get ready in the morning, make her coffee, tell her husband goodbye- all without waking Lucy. Her resident dog’s barking doesn’t instigate Lucy- and when Lucy had a sleepover with another foster, they reported the same! Lucy visited the rescue on a particularly hectic day, in the middle of a construction project and some seriously loud tree removal, she was completely unbothered by all of it. Despite her deafness, Lucy is a wonderful communicator. She responds to hand commands, takes correction well with a water squirt bottle, and checks in regularly with eye contact. Praising her is easy, she loves treats, and treats will always communicate “good dog.” She’s a very gentle treat taker, and she loves cheese! The best thing about Lucy is her personality. She has the most wonderful, warm and friendly vibe. She regularly goes places with her foster mom, and makes fast friends with strangers. With dogs, it’s just the same. Lucy loves to play, and greets with affection and measured enthusiasm. Our director that fostered her called her submissive with other dogs, and Lucy’s current foster mom calls her respectful of other dogs. We’ve never seen Lucy meet a dog she doesn’t like. Lucy is so good with other dogs that she’s been used as an assessment dog- welcoming new intake dogs, teaching them that the rescue is a fun and safe place to be, and teaching us humans about the new dog’s dog-to-dog behaviors. In one particularly memorable assessment, Lucy’s warmth and love went incredibly far to open up a shy and scared dog. He was panting, cowering and scared before he met Lucy, but once Lucy came out it was all play. If your dog needs an emotional support dog of their own, Lucy is your girl. Lucy’s playstyle with other dogs can span from calm and sweet to rough and rowdy. With playful, higher energy dogs she’ll play chase, but with our lower energy Great Pyrenees male she stuck to jaw-sparring and mellow wrestling. She’s just such a versatile dog! Lucy has visited dog parks, and enjoyed playing with the other dogs, and she’s participated in large playgroups happily. She’s a doggy-daycare type, a natural canine socialite. A male, medium energy dog would be Lucy’s perfect doggy sibling match. In her foster home, Lucy is such a chill girl. Her foster mom says she spends most of every day sleeping. She sleeps on the couch for hours at a time, wakes up, checks on everyone, and then settles at her foster dad’s feet while he works from home. She’ll snuggle up with her doggy foster brother in bed. She loves to sunbathe in the backyard, on their outdoor couch, of course. When she’s not sleeping, she enjoys playing in the backyard with her doggy foster brother and going on runs with her foster mom. The perfect running companion, her foster mom calls her. Lucy has good basic leash skills, and sticks by your side when you’re running. She’ll need a little practice with a new handler before showing you her best leash walking skills, but once you’ve hit that groove with her she’s just perfect on leash. Lucy is adorable in every way. She loves toys, but she’s gentle with them. She’s uber affectionate but never too pushy with her kisses. She likes to snuggle, sit in your lap, and lick your hands and face. She’s so friendly with everyone that she meets, a perfect pup for those with big families or lots of friends. She’s also a total lazybones couch potato, totally content to just be your best friend. Lucy is ready for her happily ever after! We think she would appreciate a home with outdoor space to play and sunbathe. This sweet boy is a LOVER, he adores people, and exudes so much gratitude for each and every pet. His name is Hector Zeroni and he lives up to every part of the “happy hoppy goofy goober” portion of his name. Hector almost immediately became a rescue favorite, his goofy and bright personality brings joy everywhere he goes. Social and friendly, great with other dogs, easy on leash, is so smart, loving and friendly, he’s a dream dog. Hector is such a good boy! He shines in a lot of areas but he shines the most in his ability to make you laugh! When he’s super excited and happy (which he’s happy all the time) he does this full spin hops in the air like he’s a dancing goat. It’s the cutest and funniest thing ever! You’ll catch little glimpses of it in his video. We suspect Hector to be a Dogo Argentino, Pit Bull mix, around 3 years old. He is a rescue so her exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. He weighs in around 50 pounds. He’s great in the car, and has taken long drives while sharing the backseat with other pups. No anxiety, or barking from this boy- just a confident car rider looking forward to the destination. He is also very easy on leash and would make an excellent hiking, or camping buddy. He loves his outside time too, whether it’s enjoying some happy little zoomies or romping with other dogs, Hector is just happy to bask in the sunshine. Hector has a goofy and silly play style, with lots of hops, tail wags and chase. He will engage in those rumble and tumble moments with other dogs and also knows when it's time for a play break as well. He also isn't the type that is going to be overly pushy about wanting to play either. Hector is great when he is around other dogs that don't like to play. He's simply off doing his own thing or he's getting spoiled with affection from people. In a home, he would do best with an aloof medium energy female that enjoys playing and also appreciates those calmer moments as well. If you don't have other dogs, that's fine too! Hector doesn't need the company of other dogs to be his happy goofy self. He's that way all on his own and he'll love all the attention too. No kitties for Hector please, he was a little too interested in our house cat biggie. With humans, Hector is up for just about anything! This sweet boy has never met a stranger, and is so quick to give away his big pittie kisses. Hector will play tug of war, or catch toys in his mouth. He’s also happy to just hang out and get some pets. Indoors, Hector has excellent house manners. He loves the couch, and he’s soooo snuggly. Hector is deaf, which we suspect to be genetic- he is a white pittie, and deafness is common with white pitties. Hector’s foster family is learning how to teach him hand commands, though Hector is a rescue and lots of life experience that we don’t know much about. Hector seems to already know at least some hand signals, watch his video to see him “sit” on command! Because he is deaf, Hector won’t respond to a verbal “no,” but he does respond well to a squirt of water. Water guns or spray bottles will be your best friend as you teach Hector how to be your perfect dog. Hector is food-motivated and love-motivated, a VERY smart and eager-to-please boy that will pick up on training quickly. Hector’s deafness will be his super power in your home, Hector isn’t scared of thunderstorms or fireworks because he can’t hear them. He isn’t overwhelmed by loud, hectic households. If you’re someone who enjoys hosting, Hector is super social, friendly, and doesn’t mind hearing lots of voices or loud music! Sounds like a match made in heaven to me! Hector would do best in a feline-free home, but he’s not too picky about anything else! We believe he would do well in a single dog or multiple dog household, as a family dog or a companion to a single person. Small children may not be a good match for Hector, without hearing, dogs can easily be startled by hard touches from little ones. Hector may be best suited for a home with kids 10+, old enough to understand, and work around his deafness. Hector will be a perfect match for you if: you’ve recently taken up the tuba and aren’t very good yet, frequently host, only drive with loud music, or live in a busy city.
