Despite her name, Hellcat is actually a very sweet girl who is very good with kids. She was found in the middle of a construction site when she was a kitten and her spicyness is what earned her the name, Hellcat. She is almost 8 years old now and has mellowed out considerably but is very vocal when it comes to things she doesn't like. She loves treats, wet food, and playing with rat shaped toys. Her special need is that she is allergic to fleas. They make her break out and scratch a lot to the point that she can tear her fur out if it gets bad enough. Other than that, she is a very mild natured cat who adores sun bathing. She can be a little sassy too but that's all forgiven when it gets cold and she cuddles under the sheets. I'm hoping she finds a home as either the only cat or with others. She doesn't need a lot and will be a very sweet, loyal companion with people who will treat her like the princess she is.

Freya is a very shy, timid cat who tends to only warm up to one person at a time. Once she does however, she becomes really cuddly and will even cuddle in your arms when it's time to sleep. (No guarantee she'll stay the whole night though.) She tolerates other cats but prefers to be on her own a lot. She loves to lay down on the floor and will often study people from a distance. Freya is not a fan of loud noises and does not like dogs. She does love treats but is not a big foodie. Please be patient with her as she takes her time to get to know people. Once she likes you, she's very obvious with it and will make a lovely lap cat.

Blu came into our lives about 11 years ago after we found him as a stray in the country and took him in. We aren’t sure of his exact age, but he was likely an adolescent at the time, making him approximately 12–13 years old. Blu is an incredibly affectionate, loving cat who enjoys being close to his people. He loves cuddles, seeks out attention, and has always been friendly with humans. He gets along well with other cats and has never been aggressive toward them. We also had a dog in the home for several years, and Blu coexisted peacefully without any issues. For most of his life, Blu has been excellent about using his litter box and has been a wonderful companion. However, since the arrival of our baby, he has developed some behavioral issues, including urinating on baby items and outside of the litter box. Given that this behavior began only after a major change in the household, we believe it may be related to stress, anxiety, or difficulty adjusting to sharing attention.

He can get frustrated if you don't understand what he wants. He would be a good candidate to be trained to use the talking buttons you see on social media. He often prefers attention from people over food. He is independent and bold, brave and affectionate. Harvey was big and muscular when he came to GNAR, but after being neutered, has slimmed down. He was very successful as an outdoor cat. Resourceful and generous with helping other cats, and sweet talking people not-so-subtly to bend to his will. He is a kitty politician. If you are a dog person, this is the cat for you. You could probably teach him tricks. He is attentive and wants you to please him : D Background Harvey and Necia were found as strays together. Outgoing Harvey showed up first outside of an industrial building where the employees started to gain his trust and feed him. Uber-friendly Harvey accepted their invitations for friendship after a short while, and soon started inviting himself inside the front door, so they decided it was probably time to look for a new home for him. After he then also brought his new girlfriend Necia to join him, everyone started worrying that there would be kittens if they didn’t do something to prevent it soon. Harvey was very protective of Necia, so they didn’t get chance to get close enough to her to see if she was also tame. Once the 2 cats started getting too bold and trying to come indoors to the office, the employee contacted GNAR to help find a home for them. So they borrowed traps, and brought them to their new foster home. Harvey continued to guard Necia, so the foster home separated them to let Necia show her true personality. Harvey also sweetened up more after he was relieved of his perceived responsibility as Necia's protector and provider. NAME: Umami Sex: Male Color/Pattern: brown tabby Breed: short Hair Age at intake: 8 weeks BDAY approx: March 26, 2024 Intake date : May 14, 2024 Description Umami is a cuddly, outgoing, affectionate, very handsome kitten. Personality Umami was confident and an extrovert the day he was found. Even though he had never been held by a human before when found at 8 weeks old, he had no problem with it. He was a bit scared for the 1st few days but as soon as you picked him up he melted into a puddle of purrs. He loves to explore and has no fear. He is very curious and is oblivious that some other animals may want to eat him. He will burst out of a doorway, run right up to a large new dog, slipping through the bars of a babygate to join the pack. Umami is talented at jumping up onto a counter to get closer to you. He is a daredevil, talker and enthusiastic eater. Patience is not his forte and he will make sure you know it. Background Umami was found in front of a house all alone after a big storm in southwest Houston on Mon May 13. His momma never came back for him. His finder brought him to a foster home who had 3 bottle baby kittens of about the same age and added him to the litter of orphans. He was just old enough to already be able to lap kitten formula for himself and eat solid food.
