Rin came to GGOH from a private rescuer in Minnesota when she reached out for a little help. Rin was a stray so we have no previous history on her. DOB is approximately 1/1/2019. Rin has a quieter, shy personality; with the right home, she will be a great companion. She loves to play and snuggle with other cats, is active and healthy. She has a beautiful dilute calico coat that she keeps neat and clean. While Rin is very cat friendly, she is still quite reserved around humans - when meeting her, she generally will let you near her, but will move away if you attempt to pet her. She's worth the effort to get to know and has great potential, but it will take time for her to trust someone new. If you have the willingness to try and let her adjust at her own pace, she might be a great fit for you. We have not directly introduced Rin to dogs, but she has been in the room as they've walked by and she paid no attention to them whatsoever. Our guess is that in a home environment, she will likely act the same and over time, perhaps even become best buds with them. As Rin is still quite people reserved, we recommend older children only for her as youngsters often do not understand a cat's signals and Rin would not be too happy with a child rushing at her. Caribou is a beautiful calico/tabby mix who was picked up off the side of a freeway with her two kittens. The finder took Caribou to MNSnap as a TNR cat but after seeing how good she was with her kittens and the potential she had to becoming a house cat/pet, the finder reached out to us to take her rather than return her to where she was found. She has been very shy and a bit nervous since she joined us but we know she has great potential if someone would just give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable and safe. We know that she is not the type of cat that everyone is looking for as many want instant gratification cats but we whole-heartedly believe that her person is out there somewhere and without us posting her story, that person may never be found. If you have an open heart and a desire to make a difference in a cat's life, maybe Caribou is the one for you - it's worth a visit to at least meet her, right? Caribou's DOB is approx. 6/1/18. Her ear tip that you see in her profile pics is the result of her spay at MNSnap. Presently, we are recommending older children only as a match for Caribou as little ones would not know how to read her signs. Dogs are an unknown. Lauren was part of our 40th Avenue farm project where we helped a local farmer with an over-population issue. Lauren is a bit on the shy side but allows petting and will stay in place if you approach her slowly so she knows you mean her no harm. She needs a home with another cat to make her feel safe while she learns to trust you. She gets along with other cats well, so you need not be too concerned about her adapting to your home and current pets. However, if you have no other cats, Lauren has many friends here at the rescue who would love to be adopted with her. Lauren is shy, but she is so worth the effort to get to know her. She is not a lap cat (if you're looking for that type of connection, let us know and we can introduce you to others that are). Her transition will take time but if you are okay with that, then perhaps you are just what this shy girl needs. If you see what we see, we'd love to make your acquaintance and so would Lauren. Patches joined us here at GGOH after we helped a local farmer with an overpopulation problem; she came to us pregnant. Since intake, Patches has been slowly adjusting to the idea that indoor living is the way to go and that humans are not scary and just want to show her how good life can be. She's getting there. Patches will need an adopter or family that is willing to give her time and patience - to adjust and to trust. She's really a very sweet girl and she deserves the chance at a home of her own with her own people to love on her. She will approach for treats (i.e. - she is food motivated) and will stay near but picking up is not on her current list of likes. She is very sweet and just needs someone who has time, patience, and love to give. She is not a cat that is going to meet you at the door when you come for a visit, but she will be in the background watching you, waiting to see if you might notice her. She allows a slow hand and a gentle touch. We know that this beautiful girl has lots of warmth and love to give if someone would just take a chance on her and give her consistent attention and love. We do our best here at the rescue to give all of our pets tons of love, but it will never compare to the love that an owner can give. Opal is 16 years old. She lived with a lady her whole life, but needed a new home due to her previous owners declining health. She needed sometime to warm up to a new place and was temperamental at first, but once she settled in she became very sweet and even gets along with our two other cats. We no longer have the time to care for a third cat so we want Opal to go to a new home where someone will care for her. She comes with her own carrier and a small cat tree.

Amy is the most adorable, loveable, dare devil there is! She will run to greet you every time you walk into the room, loves to be held like a baby, purring the second you pick her up, and will hold your face and give you kisses.Amy would need a feline friend to help her be her best self. Amy has a lot of energy and enjoys rough play so she will need a patient friend (preferably one who is bigger then her and can match and perhaps temper her play style to take the crazy down a notch).  Amy is an endlessly curious, fearless girl with the full Tortie-tude energy.Her curiosity got her into a little scrape before she was found and she had a pretty big injury to her back foot. She's all healed up now and has the cutest little three-toed foot, which we think adds to her unique charm but has not slowed her down for one moment. Amy loves to cuddle with her people and her feline friends, has learned to tolerate cat-friendly dogs, and is looking for a home with lots of climbing possibilities and adventures!I've never seen her back down from a challenge or run in fear from anything. Norma is an incredibly sweet, friendly girl looking for a family who will adore her. She loves people and is the perfect companion. She could stand to shed a few pounds ( me too! ). Venus arrived at GGOH with her litter mates after their momma arrived here at GGOH and we found her to be pregnant. Venus is one of our more challenging cats - she's shy and nervous around us humans but we know that she has it in her to be sweet and loving - it will just take time and patience. Due to her current social skills, our recommendation is that she not go to a home where there are young children - young ones would definitely not understand her. Over time, and once she is familiar with her new life and home, she may relinquish and be acceptable of being held (or may not), but we absolutely don't want her new life to start off on the wrong foot so please only inquire about her if you are okay with her personality type and can accept her for who she is. She's great with other cats and would make a wonderful companion to a perhaps lonely feline. Also of mention is that Venus is one of our FIP kitten warriors - she battled the beast and won. We can give you a more detailed picture of what her treatment was when you visit but just let it be known, she has a long worry-free life ahead of her. We don't like to dwell on this aspect of her care too much, but we also like to be up-front about it as we're not the kind of rescue that withholds or hides information from our prospective adopters. Rita is a shy young lady who came to us from a farm where an over-population problem was imminent if help wasn't received soon. She is a curious cat, taking her time to observe new situations before approaching and investigating. She accepts pets and affection as long as you go slow; she's learning to trust and has been progressing just as we had hoped she would. Rita would be a great addition to any home as long as the new family is willing to give her time and space to acclimate at her pace. Her ideal setting, however, would be with one individual that could give her consistent attention and one where the home is somewhat quiet. She does great with other cats. Dogs are unknown as we've only observed her watching them from a comfortable distance. She loves treats - they are the key to heart! Burt joined the GGOH family after we were contacted by another rescue that was working on a farm cat over-population project - with so many in need, we couldn't say "no". Burt is a shy fella, but gentle and receptive to human attention - what he needs most is a person/family that can be consistent with their interactions with him yet give him time and space (on his terms) to adjust to a new home and environment. Burt hasn't really been around children as he tends to watch visitors from a distance but with his gentle nature, we suspect he would do fine with children over the age of 5. Well-behaved dogs don't seem to phase Burt and is totally fine with other cats. Burt came to GGOH with his siblings, Ernie, Rita & Jake. Burt's DOB is approx. 3/24/2020.
