Story
If you'd like to meet Glamour, please go to our website and review our adoption policies and procedures and to schedule an on-site visit. www.ggohinc.com Glamour is one of our more shy cats here at GGOH. She is very sweet and just needs someone who has time, patience, and love to give. She is not a cat that is going to meet you at the door when you come for a visit, but she will be in the background watching you, waiting to see if you might notice her. She allows a slow hand and a gentle touch. We know that this beautiful girl has lots of warmth and love to give if someone would just take a chance on her and give her consistent attention and love. We do our best here at the rescue to give all of our pets tons of love, but it will never compare to the love that an owner can give. Please consider this sweetheart - we know she's not for everyone, but maybe, just maybe, she's for you. Glamour's approx. DOB is 10/1/2020.

Story
Rin came to GGOH from a private rescuer in Minnesota when she reached out for a little help. Rin was a stray so we have no previous history on her. DOB is approximately 1/1/2019. Rin has a quieter, shy personality; with the right home, she will be a great companion. She loves to play and snuggle with other cats, is active and healthy. She has a beautiful dilute calico coat that she keeps neat and clean. While Rin is very cat friendly, she is still quite reserved around humans - when meeting her, she generally will let you near her, but will move away if you attempt to pet her. She's worth the effort to get to know and has great potential, but it will take time for her to trust someone new. If you have the willingness to try and let her adjust at her own pace, she might be a great fit for you. We have not directly introduced Rin to dogs, but she has been in the room as they've walked by and she paid no attention to them whatsoever. Our guess is that in a home environment, she will likely act the same and over time, perhaps even become best buds with them. As Rin is still quite people reserved, we recommend older children only for her as youngsters often do not understand a cat's signals and Rin would not be too happy with a child rushing at her. To meet Rin, please visit our webpage to review our adoption process and requirements and to schedule an on-site appointment. https://www.ggohinc.com/adoption-process-cats

Story
Patches joined us here at GGOH after we helped a local farmer with an overpopulation problem; she came to us pregnant. Since intake, Patches has been slowly adjusting to the idea that indoor living is the way to go and that humans are not scary and just want to show her how good life can be. She's getting there. Patches will need an adopter or family that is willing to give her time and patience - to adjust and to trust. She's really a very sweet girl and she deserves the chance at a home of her own with her own people to love on her. She will approach for treats (i.e. - she is food motivated) and will stay near but picking up is not on her current list of likes. She really just needs someone to help her understand what a good live is all about. Do you have it within you to be Patches' human companion? Why not meet her and find out. Patches' DOB is approx. 8/17/2019. If you'd like to meet Patches, please go to our webpage to review our adoption process and requirements and to schedule an on-site visit. www.ggohinc.com

Story
Caribou is a beautiful calico/tabby mix who was picked up off the side of a freeway with her two kittens. The finder took Caribou to MNSnap as a TNR cat but after seeing how good she was with her kittens and the potential she had to becoming a house cat/pet, the finder reached out to us to take her rather than return her to where she was found. She has been very shy and a bit nervous since she joined us but we know she has great potential if someone would just give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable and safe. We know that she is not the type of cat that everyone is looking for as many want instant gratification cats but we whole-heartedly believe that her person is out there somewhere and without us posting her story, that person may never be found. If you have an open heart and a desire to make a difference in a cat's life, maybe Caribou is the one for you - it's worth a visit to at least meet her, right? Caribou's DOB is approx. 6/1/18. Her ear tip that you see in her profile pics is the result of her spay at MNSnap. Presently, we are recommending older children only as a match for Caribou as little ones would not know how to read her signs. Dogs are an unknown. And, as you can see in one of her pics, she does fabulously with other cats. If you'd like to meet Caribou, please visit our website to schedule a visitation. www.ggohinc.com.

Story
Isabel is a super sweet, but shy at times, cat. She is an indoor cat And 13 years old. We are looking for a new home due to allergies of family member. She will snuggle when she wants and meows occasionally if she wants attention. She is playful at times but pretty low maintenance. She is de-clawed in the front paws. She is okay with our dogs, since they leave her alone otherwise she is nervous around them if they try to give her attention. She gets along with our other cat, whom we also need to find a new home for. Let me know if you’re interested or have more questions.

Story
Meet Elemenopie! 2 years oldAre you ready to meet a truly unique kitty? Elemenopie is a two year old female Tortie with a personality as big as her frame (and she’s one LARGE cat—just naturally huge, not overweight!). She’s the queen of relaxation and spends her days lounging around and gazing out the window, keeping an eye on the world outside. This sweet girl is a people-lover at heart. She’s content with the simple things in life: a cozy spot by the window, a steady supply of food, and the love of her favorite human. While she may need a little warm-up time to adjust to other cats, once she’s settled, she’s happy to coexist and generally just ignores them.Elemenopie is the perfect companion for someone looking for a laid-back, affectionate feline friend. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this special girl, she’s ready to bring her gentle, loving presence into your life.Paperwork? She’s got it all covered—she’s ready to go!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.May 7, 2025, 5:21 am

Story
This adorable girl is one of our social media kitties - her name is Google. She's quiet and a bit shy, but she sure is a sweetie pie. This family of kitties have a bit of a sad story on how they came to be with us here at GGOH - they were left in a box at the end of a farmer's driveway with their momma. Momma got spooked and jumped out of the box and was hit and killed by an oncoming car. The farmer was witness to this but there was nothing he could do as he couldn't get to them fast enough. So here they were, four homeless and motherless kittens in need of help. What were we to do - we immediately said "yes, get them here as soon as you can". It's terrible that such a senseless thing had to happen but we can't dwell too much on their past because we need to focus on their future - a future that is bright and full of love and fun. That's really all we could ask for, for our little darling, Google - and we she think she absolutely deserves it! As stated, Google is a bit shy but she can be picked up and held. She is so trusting of us but yet, she still needs some reassurance that we are not going to do her harm. When you first pick her up, she buries her little head into your hand - it's adorable, yet makes your heart melt to know she just wants to feel safe. Are you the one that will change her world? Google's DOB is 8/8/21. If you'd like to meet Google, please take a moment to visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and to schedule an on-site visit. www.ggohinc.com

** If you would like to meet Stout, please visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and to schedule an on-site appointment. www.ggohinc.com ** Stout came to GGOH as a stray from Minneapolis. He is one gorgeous kitty! He's still a little nervous in his new setting but he is coming around quickly. He doesn't hide, hiss or swat, he's just taking it all in slowly and we can certainly understand that - new is sometimes scary but he's received a big welcome from all of the kitties in his room and he's taking their lead. Before you know it, this handsome fella will be coming to you for pets rather than the other way around. If you're looking for Mr. Handsome and are willing to give him some time to adjust to all things new to him, he might just be your perfect match. He does great with other cats; dogs are an unknown. Stout has an approximate DOB of 10/27/21.

If you'd like to meet Karl, please read his full profile. Once you've done that and would like to move forward, we ask that you then visit our website to review our adoption process and requirements and schedule an on-site appointment (or visit during our walk-in hours). www.ggohinc.com Karl came to us as a transfer from another rescue that didn't have the resources to help him - they had taken him in as an emergency case as he had a horrible eye infection, a URI, and was weighing only 4.5 lbs at 2 years old. To say he needed help is an understatement! What were we to do but say, "yes". While he did end up losing that eye, it made the world of difference for him as he is now pain free and well on his way to living his best life. Karl is a little on the shy side with strangers but he is learning to trust that we would never, ever, introduce him to anyone that would put him back in the life he once knew. This little guy is so handsome and has the softest fur. He's pretty active and we'll often catch him playing with the other cats or with toys as he bats them around the room. He can also be pretty chill, napping with the best of them. Karl will need someone who is willing to accept that it will take him time to adjust to a new home and life, but we have confidence that he will do just fine. Why not stop in and meet him and see what you think - maybe he's exactly what you've been needing in your life. Karl's approx. DOB is 12/19/2020.
