Story
Zuko is a very sweet, cuddly little man and we love him very much, but unfortunately we can't keep up with his medical needs and give him the care and attention he deserves. He was abandoned in northern VA several years ago and picked us to be his humans while we were visiting family for the holidays, and came back to NC with us in 2022. We don't know his age, but he acts like a little old man. He has 1 sightless eye, which the vet said will not require enucleation unless something changes, and suffers from chronic ear infections and allergies. We suspect his hip was broken at one point and has arthritis, but he still runs around and jumps on things he shouldn't. He loves every person he meets, and tolerates our two dogs, but has an absolute zero tolerance policy for other cats - he will choose violence EVERY time. He will come with a litter robot 4 and a cat tree, as well as various cat toys and beds and bowls, if desired.

Story
Meet Keiko! Keiko is 5 years old and a big bundle of love, energy, and playfulness. Keiko was adopted as a kitten and lived in a loving home with a cat sibling. Unfortunately, her adopters became homeless and had to move and Keiko's life as she knew it became different. At first, she was put into a cage at a local vets office, then returned to her original rescue to a foster home with what seemed like a gazilion other cats she didn't know. The smells, food, and people were all new, and she would give her caretaker small hisses to announce her displeasure. As she became accustomed to this change, we started to see her sweet, playful side. Chirping at her toys, enjoying catnip pawties, and finding that sometimes, life changes are ok, and with the help of her foster, she has adjusted well. We've taken time to get to know Keiko, and we know she would do well in a home, with an adopter willing to let her adjust to another newness. Someone who works from home would be ideal, but she doesn't mind alone time either. She was previously in a home with another cat, so we get the sense that given time, she would adjust to someone to nap with or attend catnip pawties with. If you are looking for love in all the right places, are patient, kind, and are looking for someone to sit next to you while you read or watch TV, you just might have found your girl! Keiko is spayed, tested negative for FIV/Felv, and is up to date on her vaccinations. Why wait? Email rescueconnectnc@gmail.com and make an appointment to meet me. Tested, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Like and Follow "Helping Cats of Southeastern NC' on Facebook (@HelpingCatsSENC) for adoptable cat photos. Story
Meet Maui the Siamese! He is an active and sturdy built male chocolate point that was abandoned in a rural area of eastern NC. He is very curious and affectionate to people. He does not get along well with other cats however. He needs to be a solo cat in a loving indoor home. MAUI does funny playful antics that will draw your attention. He loves toys, and being held. He is energetic and would thrive with a home that offers lots of time and attention. Fill out our online application in order to find out more about this goofy handsome guy! MAUI is neutered, tested negative for FELV and FIV. He is up to date on distemper and rabies vaccines, and is microchipped. He is a special needs cat as he has a medical issue and needs specific prescription food and monitoring. He also is under medical care for a possible eyelid issue. We are open to discuss his needs with serious adoption applicants. Vet reference check and home visit is part of our process.
