Story
Army Ranger is a very friendly, outgoing boy who is ready to find his people!  All cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, FELV/FIV tested, microchipped, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. Meet Army Ranger by applying to adopt or visiting her at our weekly adoption event at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd, from 12-4pm Saturday.  We should be ready for adoption around 4/17. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. April 13, 2026, 1:08 am

Story
Are you looking for a companion who can keep up with your energy—and then curl up beside you for the coziest snuggles? Let us introduce Donetella, a stunning 2-year-old brown beauty with a personality as rich and captivating as her coat. Donetella is the definition of feline fun. She’s playful, lively, and always ready to turn an ordinary moment into a full-on “kibble zoomies” event the second food is mentioned. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious, and she’ll keep you smiling with her antics. But don’t let her high-energy side fool you—this girl knows how to love. Once she’s burned off her zoomies, Donetella transforms into a full purr-machine, happily soaking up chin scratches and leaning into every bit of affection you’re willing to give. Donetella is looking for a home where she can be the star of the show. She prefers to keep all the love (and attention!) to herself—no other pets or little humans, please. In return, she promises a deep, devoted bond with her person. If you’re ready for a cat who brings both excitement and affection into your life, Donetella is waiting to meet you.April 12, 2026, 2:47 pm

Story
Havana is a gentle, soft-hearted kitty who just needs a little time to feel safe. Once she begins to trust you, her personality blossoms in the most beautiful way. She may not be a cuddle bug (yet), but she absolutely adores being petted—especially soft head scratches—and will happily lean in, asking for more in her own gentle way. The cutest part? As soon as she sees you walk into the room, she starts making biscuits in anticipation of all the love she hopes is coming. Her favorite place in the world is her window perch, where she spends her days basking in the sunshine and watching everything outside like it’s her own little show. It’s where she feels safe, calm, and content. Havana is still building her confidence, and she’s looking for a patient, understanding person who will let her open up at her own pace. When she does, you’ll get to witness something truly special—the quiet transformation of a shy cat who just wants to be loved learning she’s finally home.
