Ritual is the sweetest little girl you will ever meet, and she knows it. She has a highly calculated routine: walk around your legs, look up at you with huge eyes, and try to look as cute as physically possible 24/7. It works every single time. There is just one catch to her magicshe demands a monopoly on the cat crown. Ritual is **not** a fan of other cats. Included in our $225 (going rate/vetting is expensive) adoption fee is full vetting. It will cost you more money to have everything we have already completed for them done. Adopting from us supports S.O.S and our mission to save cats from neglect, abandonment, hoarding or friendly strays stuck living outside. All of our cats are dewormed, have received Capstar for any flea issues and NEXGUARD COMBO for any parasites, received two FVRCP vaccines as well as their rabies vaccine, are treated for ear mites (if needed), are combo tested for FeLV and FIV, and are microchipped which will transfer to you. Once the adult cats are fully vetted and vaccinated, they freely roam across two floors and (Pittsburgh weather permitting...) also spend time in an outside Catio to soak up the sunshine. I will tell you all my same spiel I tell everyone else, if you adopt from us. Do not declaw your cat, if the cat is sick- have enough money to take them to the vet. If you ever need me, call me. We talk to you and ask questions ourselves and we know the cats well. If we think it is not going to work out, we will let you know. Everyone who is able and willing, deserves the companionship of a cat. It's an art that we have purfected here! Most of the cats are in the shelter, all in one place. No, you do not need to bring your entire family and all the pets to your appointment (actually please don't on the pets) We take you around to the different rooms and then you & yours can go and visit where you want too. Seems simple right? Well, it is! Bring your own carrier just encase you do pick a new BFF, we have all of their paperwork. All you have to do is schedule an appointment. During your visit, feel free to spend time with the cat you want to meet, but also take a look around. We always have cats with a wide variety of ages, coat patterns/lengths, and personalities. High energy antics? You bet. Couch potatoes? Check. Sweet, purring snugglers? Roger that. And please don't overlook the shy wallflower who keeps glancing your way, introverts need love too. Often times, a cat is simply overwhelmed with their new rescue environment and will blossom in a calmer home environment. SOS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our adoption fee, along with donations, allow us to tend to our rescued cats in the manner in which they deserve: fully vetted and fully cared for. We also allocate funds to continue TNR (trap, neuter, and release) efforts for all of the strays who are too unsocialized and human-adverse for an indoor home. By spaying/neutering, these cats live a healthier life and no longer contribute to increasing the stray cat population. When you adopt a cat from SOS, you're doing more than giving a cat a good home. Meet Ollie! Ollie came to us when his owner was no longer able to care for him. Ollie is a very good natured and friendly cat, but can be a little on the shyer side and takes time to warm up. Although he does enjoy an occasional romp with the cat teaser, he is equally happy to gaze out the window at the birds or join you on the couch for a good TV show. Ollie will make a wonderful addition to someone’s home…could it be yours? Ollie is on a prescription diet. Adopters will be sent home with two weeks of his food, to last until they can get a refill from their veterinarian. Meet Cinnamon and Ginger! This bonded pair of girls are one year old and came to us when their owners were no longer able to care for them. Both of them are on the shyer side and will need a quiet and patient home that will allow them to settle in at their own pace. Meet Pocket! Pocket is 1 year old and came to us after being found as a stray. She is slowly warming up, but will take some time to get used to new friends and environments as she can be a little on the shyer side. Pocket is bonded to her sister, Polly, and they would need to go home together. Are you willing to give her a chance? Meet Xian! Xian is 8 years old and came to us after being found abandoned and was rescued by our Humane Investigations team. He is a very confident boy who loves people and pets, and has no issues with getting into mischief. He has quickly made himself right at home in our medical suite, often “helping” our vet staff with their day to day tasks. Especially desk work! Xian has a history of a condition called PICA which is the tendency to eat non-food items, so he would need a home that won't leave things that look yummy but aren't - loose around the home. He has a condition called IBD which cause sometimes cause some tummy upset. This is why he was spending some time in the medical suite getting extra TLC! While his medical coworkers will be sad to see him go, this friendly, spunky, involved boy deserves an home of his own. Could it be yours?
